Rex rushed towards the screen. "That's impossible,"

He couldn't believe what he had just seen. The huge kobold boss of about five meters in height dropped to its knees before Ace chopped its head off. The floor boss then slowly turned into pixels.

Rex's mouth was opened wide in disbelief but still, he muttered. "He defeated the boss,"

"That's what I keep telling you. This guy is a freak." Ken shook his head.

The human race is known to be one of, if not the weakest race across the universe but still, a human was proving their common knowledge wrong. No race had ever been able to accomplish such a feat in such a short period.

Rex pointed to the screen and faced his brother.  "How can a weak human inflict so much damage in such little time? He must be cheating. Look at him!! He is nothing but skin and bones,"

Ken didn't bother about what his brother was saying, instead, he could see Ace making weird gestures with his hands. Ken nudged his glasses and zoomed in on the screen to get a better view. Rex noticed his brother's reaction to the screen, he leaned toward the screen as well.

"What is he doing?" Ken asked, facing the screen. Being a developer for a good number of years, he has seen his fair share of players come and go in the lower realm but never in his career life has he seen someone like Ace.

Ace had been leveling up at a frightening and exponential rate, breaking records, records developers like Ken could have never imagined possible until now.

"Don't tell me he's gonna do what I think he'll do," Rex stared intently at the screen.

Both Elves zoomed towards the screen to view the image of the human wearing a rag tunic and pants, Ace smiled mischievously while slowly lifting his middle finger towards those looking at him through the screen.

"Oh no! He didn't..... Did he just.....?" Rex's face became flushed with rage. Never once in his life had he been so humiliated like this.

" Hm...mm," Ken nodded. "He certainly did,"  Ken saw this as an opportunity to get back at his brother for calling him old earlier.

"That human just gave you the finger," Ken worsened his brother's mood by provoking him even more.

"Oh!! That's it! I've had it with this punk. I'm gonna re-spawn those monsters and double the number. No, I'll triple it," Rex got up and launched his arms toward the controls but Ken instantly grabbed his hands, halting his movement.

"What do you think you're doing?" He asked. "Don't tell me you believe he can see you?"

Rex was taken aback by his words. He retreated his hands but his heart was still offended by Ace's action.

"But you saw what he did just now right?" Rex asked, holding the urge to send a million monsters toward Ace's spawning point.

Ken sighed and tried to ease his brother's mind. "I did but it doesn't give you the right to ruin my life. If you want to increase the number of spawned monsters, then face your screen and do the same for the humans under your surveillance,"

Increasing the number of spawned monsters without proper authorization from the director would surely lead to severe punishment from the director herself.

Rex didn't require any prior warning for him to know that continuing any longer will be detrimental to him in the long run. And to avoid any unnecessary scenario with the director, Rex immediately composed himself and returned to his seat.

Ken returned to his seat as well, wiping the remaining beads of sweat that lingered on his forehead. Not only will his brother be punished had Rex increased the number of spawned monsters, but Ken would also have been punished as well.

He had done something similar in the past but in a much different scenario from this one. He had tried to save a demon girl that partook in the game a few years back.

The demon girl's colleague had ended their journey in one of the cities of the lower realm while saving her and this touched a certain part of Ken's heart. He decided to reduce the number of monsters that the demon girl was meant to face next.

Word got out of Ken's kindness and he was punished severely by the director while losing his job in the process. His brother pleaded on his behalf before the director finally ordered him to return to work.

Since then, Ken had felt his connection to the director a lot more distant than the rest of the development team members.

Ken sighed deeply, shifting his gaze onto the screen. "Now, what am I going to do with you?"

Director Kim had just returned so she must be currently recovering from the fatigue of attending to eighty thousand players.

Ken had no choice but to wait for the director to rest some more before informing her of the monster in a human physique called 'Zero,'

...

Meanwhile in the Solo underground dungeon, Ace arrived on the fourth floor of the dungeon. Since Surviving Online was a virtual world made purely to provide a means of entertainment for the Celestial Elves race, he had to progress with caution.

For the elves to be entertained by the players, drones had to be focused on every player's whereabouts to keep the Elves updated on the player's condition and improvements.

It was the drones Ace had aimed his middle finger at earlier. The monsters here on the fourth floor were mainly wild boars, so his main focus will be placed on his stealth and hunting skills.

Most wild boars were always hungry and so sneaking behind them will be the best way to end them. If a player confronted a wild boar without sneaking behind it first, the wild boar will feel frightened and would attack him in return.

It could also chase him until the player reaches a certain distance away from the boar, then the boar will have no choice but to resume its initial task of finding something to eat.

The kobolds of the previous floor didn't drop any valuable loot Ace could store in his inventory aside from the copper sword each kobold used as a weapon but he couldn't store more than one sword in his inventory unlike other items of the game and so he progresses to the next floor.
