It all started with the call Ace received during his class at the university, Ace had noticed that the caller had a voice similar to his and this made him feel uneasy.

Also, during his final battle with Night Fury, It was right after Night Fury had removed the mask he had on him, only then was Ace able to notice how Night Fury's appearance looked a lot like his.

Night Fury's face was similar to his in every aspect. His height, his hair color, his voice, the resemblance was so genuine.

'Why did he kill my family and girlfriend?'

'Why did he want me dead?'

'Why did he make me become a public enemy that had to be kept behind bars?'

To answer all these questions still circling endlessly in his mind, Ace had to go back.

'He must be a player from another world sharing the same name as me? Even if he was, then why would he want me dead?'

This was the only logical thing that could explain their similar appearances but Ace still did not understand why Night Fury would want him dead.

Everyone knows there are several worlds across the universe. The universe was filled with different worlds filled with different kinds of demons, spirits, and humans alike.

So it wasn't new for someone to know about reincarnation. Ace knows that just as he is a human with the name Ace, there were also other creatures around the world known as Ace.

These creatures could serve as Ace's reincarnation candidates, meaning that if he were to die in this world, he would most likely be reincarnated into either one of the creatures sharing the same name as his.

So if Night Fury was his reincarnation candidate, why would he want to kill Ace?

Ace didn't know why but he would have to find out.

This time, his sole purpose was to become overpowered and to claim the Obsidian Key as his, only then will he find true freedom.

This is because, unlike Ace who had no significant position in his party, Night Fury was a leader feared and hugely respected by his party members. Night Fury's levels were simply phenomenal and breathtaking unlike his.

Once Ace becomes overpowered, he'll be able to successfully confront Night Fury and ask every single question that has been weighing him down for so long.

Moving on,

Ace shifted his gaze around his cell, taking notice of everything within the three brick patterned room.

"I never thought I would get to see this place again," He sighed with mixed emotions.

Even though he had struggled for survival for several months in the game, It still felt like it was just yesterday that he had been dispatched to this facility for crimes he hadn't committed.

"Wait a minute, I did arrive here just yesterday.....Haha," He laughed loudly to himself in the cell.

*Knock* *knock*

Someone was knocking on the wall of the cell beside Ace's cell.

"Are you okay over there? Don't tell me you're running mad or something?" An old man dressed in an orange prisoner's uniform just like Ace quipped.

The old man noticed how Ace had been acting strange by laughing weirdly ever since he got here yesterday.

Ace didn't reply to the old man.

"Don't tell me you're becoming insane. If you do, no woman would ever want to be with you,"

*Coughs* Ace coughed violently. He felt as though he had received a massive blow to his gut.

"Why Elder....?! Why would you say that?!" Ace turned his head in disbelief towards the old man's cell.

The old man was surprised. "It's been a long time since someone referred to me with  respect around here...what is your name boy?"

Ace smiled. The reason he had shown respect to the old man was that he recalled meeting him in the game before he was provided a second chance.

They were both in the same party before they were all killed at the same time by an ambush made by Night Fury.

"My name is Zero," Ace replied solemnly. His gaze was fixated on the top of the room.

Ace didn't use his real name, the reason being that inmates needed to refer to themselves using their aliases rather than their real names while they were within the walls of Black Paradise.

"Call me White bat," The old man replied.

Unlike Ace who was framed as being a criminal for him to be arrested,  White bat was a genuine assassin.

He had been ordered by his employers to kill so many people before he was arrested and sentenced to capital punishment.

White Bat had been reflecting on his dark past while being locked up in the Black Paradise prison facility.

He had no choice but to do what his employers needed.

He had a huge debt under his belt and to pay them off, he had to do things to ensure his family's safety.

Both Ace and white bat continued to chat and soon time went by.

Tonight, just like every other inmate, both Ace and white bat were awaiting their fates.

They were to be executed tonight.

"They're here," Ace muttered under his breath.

Various men clothed in black suits approached every single inmate.

A box that contained a black VR headgear was dropped in each cell.

The world government had proposed a new means of executing the world's most notorious criminals.

By placing a VR headgear on them, criminals' brain wave activity would instantly be shut down in what would be the most convenient and fastest means of handling their execution.

The world was advancing exponentially in its technological know-how and so henceforth, a subtle approach was to be taken when dealing with situations like this.

Guards were placed in front of every inmate to ensure they wore their VR helmets.

"Goodbye my friend, tell my family I love them!!" A prisoner yelled at the top of his voice to the other prisoner whose cell was right beside his.

"How do you expect me to do that when we are both about to die ..... moreover, you have no family!!"  He yelled back.

"Hehe..." The first prisoner chuckled with his teeth in full display. "I've always wanted to say that..." He said with sadness creeping out from within those words.

Every player wore their headgear, turned it on, and a few seconds later, their consciousness drifted into virtual reality.

[Logging in] An image appeared before them.

Followed by a voice that briefly sounded within the prisoner's mind.  [Welcome To Surviving Online,]

Suddenly, the players found themselves passing through a multicolored tunnel before landing on an open grassland. The cold wind caressed their faces and everyone became surprised.

Huh? Wasn't this supposed to be their death sentence?
