Chapter 9: 07. First Set Of Skills.

"They're getting closer!!" Ace reminded himself.

He hastily tugged his right arm away from the soil, distributing ten attribute points to his [Strength]. Not delaying any more time, Ace landed his fist on the ground.

*Boom!!*

 

A small crack was formed where his fist had landed.

"Not enough!!" He yelled to himself.

The monsters were now twenty feet towards his way.

Ace leaped like a frog towards another spot. He dug his hands and listened to his surroundings just as before. He added another ten attribute points to his [Strength] attribute.

 He lunged his fist to the ground once more. *Boom!!*

"Not enough!!" He yelled once again. He was running out of time. The monsters were now ten feet from him.

He leaped as a frog once more and used his sense organs to perceive his environment once again. He distributed  ten points to his [Agility] status and another ten points towards his [Strength] again 

The air around him shook and he landed a fatal blow to the ground this time around.

*Boom!!!*  A medium-sized crater was formed underneath his feet. 

Immediately after he did this, the system notification popped up on his retina.

[Ding!! Skill requirements reached: New skill ( Perception) acquired.]

[Acquired Skill: Perception skill (Early stage).]

[Level Requirement: Level 1 and above.]

[Effect: Player will be able to perceive his surroundings during daylight or around dark places.]

[Required Attribute: Strength (10+), Agility (10+).] (Note:- The attribute required is a minimum of ten points.)

[Consumes: Stamina]

[Note: It enhances the player's sense of sight, smell, touch, and hearing within a ten-meter radius. The distance increases gradually as the perception skill level increases.]

"Success!!" Ace yelled at the top of his voice. And just as he was rejoicing, the monsters were now two feet away from him.

Two monsters leaped towards him and with his newly acquired ability, he was able to see them alongside their profile in this dark dungeon.

[Ravenous Goblin - Level 2]

They were hungry-looking goblins with a huge chunk of spittle slobbering out of their mouths. Both goblins could already taste his flesh.

They were now a few centimeters away from his face.

A deft swing of his arm easily ended both goblins.

"Ahh!" The two goblins released an unexpected shriek of anguish.

When the battle log appeared, Ace took a battle stance, awaiting the rest of the goblins heading towards his way.

The goblins were really small, their heights reached a maximum of 70cm.

They also had their characteristic green-colored skin which was the hallmark of all goblins he had seen in various video games.

Ace's objective for touching disgusting bones and jumping around like a frog was solely to obtain the [ Perception] skill.

This skill aids players in enhancing their organs of sight, touch, and smell both daytime and night, enabling them to discern their surroundings more easily. The skill proficiency level increases as players comprehension of the skill improve.

The skill level was divided into four stages. The Early, advanced, Master, and Grandmaster stages.

With his new ability, Ace could vividly see in the dark or at night within a one-meter radius. The distance will increase as the skill proficiency level improves, thus enabling him to upgrade his skill toward the Advance stage.

One more goblin jumped towards Ace.

"Ahh!!" Just as in the previous ones, the goblin was handled with ease. Ace's fist flew straight into the goblin's face.

Right after the battle log notification appeared, a brand new notification followed right after.

[Acquired Skill: Hand-to-hand Combat skill. (Early stage).]

[Level Requirement: 1 and above.]

[Effect:- Player will become adept in close-quarter combats.]

[Required Attribute: Strength (10+). Agility (10+)]

[Consumes: Stamina.]

[Note: Knowledge in the use of melee weapons such as knives, swords, axes, and spears will improve as skill proficiency level increases. Player will also become proficient in using dual wielding as the proficiency level increases.]

[EXP:- 9/300]

Just as Ace had acquired the ( Perception) skill by adapting his senses to his surroundings three times, Ace was able to also acquire a new skill (Hand-to-hand combat) by killing three goblins with his bare hands.

A bunch of information on battle techniques instantly swarmed into his mind. It took a while for Ace to process the whole thing as he toppled over by the sudden influx of knowledge.

He steadied his mind and faced the remaining goblins. These guys just don't know what they're up against.

"The fun is just beginning," Ace chuckled softly in amusement.

More goblins were dashing towards his way, Ace didn't wait for them to close the distance between him and the goblins before he attacked.  

Immediately they were within range,  Ace lunged forward with his eyes filled with determination.

His current goal was to complete both side quests before their time lapsed. 

Out of the two side quests, one required him to clear all five floors within the next twenty-four hours. This quest alone was enough to make him overpowered with the reward of six hundred attribute points.

During Ace's first experience in the game, his goal at the time was to defeat only forty goblins. This time around, he was going to aim to grind and farm as many monsters as possible.

Ten minutes went by in a flash.

"Ahh!!" Another goblin bites the dust.

"That's the last one." Ace's body was panting heavily. He was happy to see that he had finally defeated the last goblin.
