I am in disbelief. But seeing is believing. That bald guy is definitely above the level of an ordinary Magic Knight Captain. At the very minimum, he is at the level of a Wizard King.
That mutated double-headed griffin is also a surprise to me. Being able to go toe to toe against that giant is a scarily tremendous feat.
Though I appear unconscious and am being held by one of the Diamond Mages, and my ears are hurt, I am still fully functional. There is no immediate threat to my life for now. Sadly, my strength is still a bit on the red though, or else I would’ve attacked already. I recall the double-headed griffin’s sonic attack.
Mana Skin is an application of mana that covers the whole body from external effects. Because of my immensely low mana, I am incapable of Mana Skin. This results in me being heavily incapacitated by that sound-based attack. I am lucky I didn’t straight-out fall unconscious, or worse, for my head to explode.
Mutated creatures from the monster species are a dime in a dozen but rarely do they become this strong. It is truly a surprise to me.
However, that’s not where the surprise ends. Another guy catches my attention. His dark hair and smoke magic are the things that clue me of his identity. When his subordinates address him by his first name, I then realize the identity of that supposed-to-be nameless Magic Warrior who tied me back then inside my tent.
For now, this guy doesn’t have any fame, but in the near future, I am certain of the role he will play. I feel the strange hand of fate moving me. Perhaps, my coming here is not something of a coincidence. Maybe, my coming into this very world is not just a result of a series of coincidences born out of Philip Jester’s ambition.
The Diamond Mage carrying me drops me haphazardly on the ground as the heat of the battle progresses to the next stage. I lie in wait on the ground, and through my Ki sensing, I observe the battlefield from a third person’s POV.
Ki of every and each individual is unique and has a certain frequency to them. This means that I can accurately identify just who is who or which is which in any chaotic battlefield. This also includes items of unique traits.
My Singularity Broom is stationary on just one corner of the battlefield. I assume the one who was carrying it must’ve abandoned it. I’d love to stand and rush for it, but I don’t want to compromise myself. I cannot have the Diamond Mages shifting their attention to me. The last thing I want to happen is for something unexpected to occur abruptly.
I cannot hear a thing but my Ki sensing is still just doing fine. I don’t know when but I must’ve advanced in this particular mysterious art for some time already.
Slowly, some of my strength is returning to it. If I were to quantify it, I think it’s about 30% of my stamina and is still increasing. I wait for the opportune moment.

The fight is getting intense, and Lotus is barely fending off the feral griffins. The griffins are smart. It is evident as to how they choose to target Lotus from among the many Diaomnod Mages.
One wrong move and Lotus can say goodbye to his future wife who he hasn’t met yet. “Men, 2 minutes, and this fuckers will start showing weakness. We just need to hold off since then!”
Fighting tooth and nail for their survival, the Diamond Mages exhaust their every bit of effort. “WE WILL SURVIVE!” They scream their war cry while their gums bleed and their voice hoarse. They bare their fighting spirit like the fangs of wolves on the verge of dying from hunger.

Yes, the mages of the Diamond Kingdom are hungry! Hungry for victory!
Maybe hearing their cries, the giant, Terrance roars, echoing the passion of his subordinates. “Earth Creation Magic: Giant’s Hammer!” Compressing the earth from mana out of thin air, a giant hammer takes shape in his palms.
The giant with one swift swing accurately hits the agile and swift griffin. For some time, the double-headed griffin has been playing Terrance like a fool. With its monstrous manipulation of the wind and humongous mana, the double-headed griffin is certainly a terrible foe.
The sight of the winning giant raises the Diamond Mage’s morale several folds. The mages start pushing back, even chasing some of the dumb birds with their magic. They are winning! The thought makes Lotus smile more and more.
Just like that, 2 minutes come to a close. “We did it, two minutes!” That is when… Lotus realizes. “Wait, why… are they fewer of us?”
The Diamond Mages that were near him just a while ago were no longer there. “Why… are we so scattered.” The Diamond Mages for some reason are so far from each other. “Luring…” This word comes into Lotus’s head in a spark of lightning, but it was too late.
The griffins start their counterattack.
The double-headed griffin that was down, whimpering, and playing coy suddenly gains vitality. With impressive speed, the beast zigzags in the sky creating a unique pattern of curves and lines. In every corner of seemingly unreasonable coordinates, the double-headed griffin leaves a star twinkling with resplendent glamour… Seeing the full picture from the ground, you will realize it was a magic circle of illogical shape.
More than a magic circle, it resembles more of a constellation. To be more specific, it was a unique magic circle engraving itself into the heavens.
Exactly at that moment, the fleeing and dodgy griffins attack back with more ferocity.
Lotus grits his teeth. The formidable weakening magic that guarantees a victory to the wide battlefield faces its defeat that day. This memory will become a stigma to Lotus that he won’t forget for a long time.
Terrance who is barely holding on inhales with great movement. “Body Reinforcement Magic: Giant’s Godly Strength!” With one mighty throw, he throws his hammer to the sky in the blind hope of dispelling the magic.
The sky parts apart at the impact of the hammer, but not any moment later, it returns back to once it was once. The clouds just stitch up the stars that seemingly vanish for a second.
“Kiiiiiiieeee~”
As if mocking the mortals below it, the double-headed griffin looks down from the sky. With one look, you could see an illusory crown adorning the griffins’ two heads. This mutated double-headed griffin must be the first of its kind, and without any doubts, this griffin deserves the title of king.
