“ROOOOAAAAR!”

It was only a single roar and the [Dot of Singularity] scatters into the atmosphere. I was agape at the ridiculous power of the lion. More than the sheer awe, I feel my very soul trembling in fear.

This a magic that touches on the peak of mysticism. It is the manifestation of concepts, which are only visible to the arcane stage and the saint stage. “Impossible,” I cry, but the results speak of the truth.

Through my Ki sensing, I feel the Diamond Mages behind me faltering. I look behind me only to see most of them frothing from their mouth, eyes white, and unconscious.

There was no exploding of heads like the double-headed griffin’s attack, but I feel the lion’s roar to be more powerful. I have only one reason to believe so, that roar didn’t possess any mana but only the lion’s vitality. The roar was like the lion’s casual breath. A more apt analogy is that it was like a giant’s sneeze.

Speaking of giants, the bald general above me was wheezing and huffing. To be able to maintain gigantification magic like that must be very difficult for his body. The giant has a battle of his own, and so is mine.

I have to focus on what is in front of me. The spontaneous tremors in the earth that the bald giant was causing since the beginning of the battle weren’t bothering. But now, it does, especially with the lion in front of me being my opponent.

The lion is majestically standing in front of me showing its chest and beautiful golden mane. I think the beast is assessing me, so I shall do just that.

First, I judge myself. I have about a quarter left of what my mana initially was including the stored mana in my broom. I think I can cast [Dot of Singularity] about 10 more times. That’s a lot, but considering that the lion was able to extinguish my [Dot of Singularity] worth of 10 with just a roar, I abandon the plan of going all in with an extreme [Dot of Singularity].

Second, my immediate allies. I look behind me. Except for Lotus who was barely moving, the others are pretty much useless. Lotus’s weakening magic will definitely have an effect on this fight. I don’t even need to tell Lotus something as obvious as extending his weakening magic. Even without ordering him to do something, I believe I can trust him to do what he believes is right.

I’d love to know where Fanz and Domi are, but with the situation now, I can only trust them to the Diamond Mages. Specifically, I trust Lotus Whomalt’s character, one of the interesting antagonists of the Black Clover anime.

I proceed with my observation.

The third point that I have to scrutinize is the lion in front of me, or simply the double-headed griffin that is now spilt in two. It is certain that the griffin is now stronger. I look at the eagle above me. It is mainly using wind magic, but none of the sound-based attacks. My gaze then lands on the lion in front of me.

Comparing the two, I arrive at an assumption. The double-headed griffin had two souls representing their two attributes, sound, and magic. In order to gain more power, the two choose to split up resulting in their essence coming closer to their origin.

Origin is a term I hear too often from the books. I believe this origin is the core of the magic attributes that manifest in our world. Many scholars also believe the same, but none of them was able to prove it.

Now. A question comes to mind. Why the double-headed griffin did chooses to split up? The answer is simple... because it wants to defeat its enemy. In this case, that would be the bald giant who was fighting the mutated double-headed griffin into a stalemate.

The eagle above us was still in a stalemate against the giant. That means the eagle alone is on equal footing against the giant.

If the lion joins in, it would be bad for the giant. I and the Diamond Mages know this. That’s why we will fight our best and eliminate the griffins hindering our path. This is scenario 1 that the Griffin King might think of. Knowing this, the damned beast decides to implement a different strategy.

Instead of the lion and eagle fighting the giant, it would be the eagle and the griffins who will be fighting the giant. Meanwhile, while all of this is happening, the lion will then keep me and the Diamond Mages busy.

All of this, my observation, occurs within a second. I arrive at a single conclusion. We can win. This conclusion diverges into two methods: one (1) is defeating the lion and two (2) is defeating the eagle.

The excitement courses through my veins causing me to smile. Killing all of the griffins is out of the question as they are just cannon fodder and not worth their time. From their agility and ability to fly, the griffins are certainly not the way to go.

Judging by the stillness of the lion in front of me, it must be stalling for time and is just here to watch over us. “This arrogant bastard.”

I raise my Singularity Broom once more. “Concept Manifestation or not, you dumb beasts are messing with the wrong opponent.” With one swift motion, I swing my broom down.

“Dot of Singularity.”

With an ominous voice, I pronounce my magic’s name with bravado. From out of nowhere, a black dot appears on the eagle’s face.

Flapping its wings madly, the eagle destroys my magic.  My magic didn’t kill the bird, but that’s fine. After all, it manages to steal a few precious seconds for the giant to strike.

“Earth Restraining Magic: World’s Boulder.” The giant clasps its hand as if offering a prayer. From out of nowhere, dirt latches on the poor bird. The dirt compresses, intensely creating a solid boulder in an instant. At the core of it is the magical eagle in the confines of earth elements.

The giant all angry and full of resentment gives his everything in his next blow. “Earth Creation Magic: Giant’s Hammer!”
