Chapter 100: Chapter 100: Kokuō

Jonathan stared at Kokuō. The beast towered over one-hundred fifty feet (forty-five meters). It's piercing eyes were enough to make men cower if they looked. Jonathan stood there expressionless.

'Five horns on its head with four hooves and white fur,' described Jonathan. It greatly resembled a horse, but its face was quite abstract. To others, they would be in awed at the magnificent that stood before them; but to Jonathan, it was nothing more than a devilish beast.

"Boy," Kokuō spoke. "Who are you?" Just like in the American animated television show, Kokuō sounded exactly like Jonathan expected: a calm woman that was slightly low pitched. This was because the actor who voiced Kokuō was a female. But by no means was Jonathan going to refer to Kokuō as a "she" or "he". 'It can speak to me telepathically,' Jonathan inwardly said.

"I am the one who will liberate this world. As for you, you're nothing but a devil who consumes people's hearts." There was no sentiment towards Jonathan's statements. Kokuō marveled at Jonathan's resolve. To Kokuō, Jonathan looked nothing more than a boy. "All you tailed beast are the same to me, walking monstrosities that need cages."

When that was heard, Kokuō roared at Jonathan. This was an empty void, Jonathan's consciousness, but he could feel the wind blowing from Kokuō's ululation.

"Oh…" Jonathan said without remotely flinching. "You should know, beast. I took a huge risk in acquiring you. Because if you get extracted from me, my life in this world will end…"

"Before that happens, I'll devour you whole," Kokuō replied.

Jonathan smirked, "You think I'm not aware? The only reason I took the time to get you was because of my low chakra. It's not because I wanted you; it's because I needed you."

"Boy, I don't care what you want or need. The fact is, I don't like you. My chakra will never be given to some child." As Kokuō finished, dharma chains erupted from underneath and circled around Kokuō's neck. They then wrapped around the beast and pulled themselves down to bring Kokuō along with it.

Splash!

Water rained over Jonathan as he walked slowly towards Kokuō with his eyes closed. "You don't seem to understand." When Jonathan approached the struggling Kokuō, he opened his eyes to reveal the sharingan. "The moment I set my sights on you, you were already mine."

'Sharingan genjutsu.'

Jonathan did not need Kokuō to like him. That was Kokuō's first mistake. Much like the nine-tails, the strongest tailed beast after the ten-tails, the sharingan's ocular powers was enough to effect Kokuō. All tailed beasts were susceptible to its illusionary prowess. Jonathan reached out to Kokuō's snout and pulled on it. Perceivable red chakra could be seen. When Jonathan began absorbing it, he quickly had to stop.

'Chakra from a tailed beast is no joke. I can't take it all in…' Jonathan said to himself.

Jinchūriki were capable of having their tailed beast transfer chakra to them. However, if a tailed beast was not fully in synch with their host, they could be consumed by the beast. Kokuō was not transferring its will, but the amount of chakra it carried was far too large for Jonathan to control outrightly.

'I'll need to extract his chakra bit by bit…'

Jonathan spent a little time and gathered enough chakra until he couldn't contain anymore. Tailed beasts who are enraged will constantly attack their host by preying at what's in their heart. The more and more they continue, the weaker and weaker that heart becomes until it's filled with their will. When that happens, the tailed beast will be released. It doesn't matter how powerful their seal is. But Jonathan's heart wasn't at all weak. His heart was filled with hope.

That was because Jonathan was the same yesterday, today and tomorrow. No number of beings could change who he was.

By the time Kokuō arose, it didn't just see it in Jonathan, it also felt it in itself. "You took some of my chakra?" Kokuō asked in alarm.

Jonathan looked at his hands and squeezed his palms saying, "Yes, I did."

Kokuō started growling due to being upset. "Who do you think you are? A lowly child pretending to be fearless in front of a tailed beast? How dare a common, insignificant Uchi—" Jonathan opened his eyes and saw not even a millisecond passed. When he looked at his body, the dharma markings were no longer present, but he could still feel Kokuō inside. In front of Jonathan was his biwa. He picked it up and turned around to Jibachi's dead body.

'That thing actually thinks I'm an Uchiha,' Jonathan specified. He grabbed both Jibachi's body and Han's body before utilizing what chakra he took from to perform the flying raijin technique.
