Chapter 103: Chapter 103: Orbiting Kunai

The moment the fight started, the shinobi leapt away and threw three windmill shuriken. Izumi activated her sharingan and stood there.

'Oh…' Jonathan thought inwardly.

Izumi moved her neck by a few inches to dodge the first, moved her body left to dodge the second and let the third one hit her. When it made contact with her body, a puff of cloud appeared. She was still standing in the same spot, eyes locked on her opponent.

"No surprise an Uchiha would know the last one was a clone," the burly man stated. He quickly used high-speed movement to circle around Izumi in a radius. Izumi stood there waiting. Because the man hadn't attacked, Izumi crouched down to place her palms on the ground.

'Earth style: giant mud wall.'

A large wall made of earth emerged from underneath the man, causing him to go flying into the air. Izumi slowly rose up and grabbed three kunai from her pouch. She threw one, then two, then the remaining three.

'Ninja art: shadow shuriken jutsu.'

Jonathan predicted exactly what was happening before it did. 'I wouldn't want to be that guy,' he exclaimed.

The second two kunai thrown collided with the three. Those same five kunai multiplied by three to produce fifteen. After the man recovered to dodge the first kunai thrown, his eyes widened. Over thirty kunai were colliding simultaneously around him in a sphere. The kunai he dodged hit one of those kunai causing all the kunai to change their trajectory. Before he knew it, all the kunai began slashing away at him.

Though not all of them came at once, the man was trapped in an endless barrage.

Izumi deactivated her sharingan and closed her eyes while walking away. Over her shoulders, one could see the man flop to the ground behind her. He was covered in blood. When Jonathan looked at him, he saw that the areas kunai made their cut weren't lethal. He might have been badly injured, but Izumi had purposefully spared his life.

Jonathan closed his eyes as the crowd went into a massive cheer.

'Two months had improved her skills by that much. If I continue letting her grow, she might not surpass Itachi, but she'll be strong enough to join the Anbu.'

Izumi Uchiha was skilled for her age, but even Jonathan knew she wouldn't be able to stop Itachi or Obito during the famed Uchiha massacre two years from now. Because this world followed the novels, games and animated series, Jonathan wasn't completely sure who would attempt to kill Izumi. In the novel, Itachi performed his most powerful genjutsu before killing her. In the animated series, however, it was Obito Uchiha who killed her.

With his deduction made, Jonathan used the flying raijin and disappeared to another area in the Leaf Village. He was still in his smoke form, so he ventured to the Leaf Jōnin Station and collected something of value to him. Afterwards, he used Kokuō's chakra to replenish his and again performed the flying raijin to appear in the Sand. There, he collected the same object at a similar location without being spotted.

Jonathan's last destination was the Stone Village. He ventured to the report station and again collected the same object. When he had finished, he teleported to his small lodging area within the Stone Village. Because of Kokuō's chakra, Jonathan could execute the flying raijin abundantly. This was the reason Jonathan selected this technique as opposed to all the other forbidden ones. The places he could travel were almost limitless!

Jonathan took out all three objects and opened them. They were bingo books. One of the many things that Jonathan needed before figuring out a way to leave this world, was money. His first plan to invest wisely in order to accumulate enough funds was ruined. Teuchi was at fault. His second plan was going to take Gōza's profits but it proved to be unattainable due to his lack of chakra reserves. He instead chose to be patient and opt for a better reward, Kokuō's chakra.

There were several ways Jonathan could earn money, but he needed to earn money fast. For the next year, Jonathan knew not much would happen. Asuma Sarutobi was already assigned to his new team as a Jōnin instructor, the Rookie Nine were still students and would be for some time, and the first semester would end with Sasuke being the top student. The only other important thing wouldn't happen till winter, and that was the day Hinata Hyūga fell in love with Naruto Uzumaki.

Jonathan was not going to spend time waiting for his other plans to unfold. He had so many of them that a normal person would have forgotten some by now. But Jonathan wasn't a normal person. He was stuck in a world where his life depended on surviving until the very end.
