A bingo book was like a wanted poster compiled in a book. The underground or black market was willing to pay a hefty ransom for certain ninjas across the world. Jonathan was not going to become a mercenary. Not only was their work too slow, but he didn't like the idea of fighting for countries.
Jonathan was not here to help the world; he was preparing to completely destroy it.
But to accomplish a highly ambitious goal like that one, he required prodigious amounts of money. Three bingo books were acquired from the Leaf, Sand and Stone Village. That was because each country had their own wanted criminals. When a criminal was captured (dead or alive), they would be brought to that specific country's collection office.
Jonathan was well aware of how the underground market operated. He even knew where one was at. This was because a whole arc was dedicated to it in the original timeline. In total, there were around five collection offices in each country. For most if not all of these offices, there was a secret entrance only known by a few.
A particular individual, if he were here, named Hidan would reprimand Jonathan for treading on people's lives for money. But Jonathan did not value their lives. He didn't value anyone's lives in this world. To him, whatever value they themselves put on someone else's life was what they deemed it worthy of being.
Jonathan opened all three books and began reading. He marveled at the accuracy of what was written in each book. In one book, he found Jūzō Biwa, a member of the Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist. His bounty was worth twenty-five million ryō. That was equivalent to one million seven-hundred thousand American dollars. And he wasn't the only one of the Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist listed. Raiga, wielder of the Kiba blades was also present. His bounty was twenty-million ryō.
Jonathan knew why they were so high. Each of them committed crimes against their respected countries. Jonathan, of course was not going to go after either of them recklessly. Jūzō Biwa was currently a part of the Akatsuki organization. They were going to eventually hunt the tailed beast. The less the Akatsuki knew about Jonathan, the better.
As for Raiga, his location was unknown to Jonathan at the moment. From what he estimated, Raiga was likely traveling the world with a boy named Ranmaru. Its more than likely he'll eventually form the Kursouki family at Katabami Gold Mine in the Land of River soon. Jonathan would surely pay him a visit to collect the famous Kiba Blades. He at least knew where that would be located, but would have to wait a little while longer.
Jonathan continued searching the bingo books and found two more shinobi: Orochimaru and Sasori of the Red Sand. It was no surprise to see both of the two listed, but they were not suitable targets in the slightest despite their high bounty numbers.
Jonathan eventually found someone familiar. There were quite a number of people in each of the books, but Jonathan hardly recognized any of their names and some of them didn't have photographs. When Jonathan saw a person named Gonsunkugi, he immediately remembered him. This was a thief who used nails as his fighting style. And his bounty was worth three million five-hundred thousand ryō.
From what Jonathan recalled, he originally had a bounty of five million ryō seven to eight years from now. He was a filler character and Jonathan found no reason not to try to collect his bounty now. Regarding where he was, Jonathan knew he would be in the Land of Stone. But to find his exact location, Jonathan would have to use his Sage Mode sensing ability. This ability's range was so vast, Jonathan could sense a whole village effortlessly. Naruto Uzumaki when he was in his Sage Mode not only did the same but was also able to sense a whole war occurring!
Before Jonathan decided to depart, he looked through the rest of the books and found three more familiar ninjas with a decent amount of ryō on their heads. The first two were Gantetsu and Chōseki. These were the two Jiraiya and Naruto Uzumaki met back at Tanzaku Town. Gantetsu had the nickname "Legendary Dark Shinobi"; yet, he was only at the level of a Chūnin. His partner, Chōseki, was the same. Both of them were from the Stone Village, and both of them had the same value of one million five-hundred thousand ryō. That was equivalent to over two-hundred thousand American dollars.
Jonathan knew where those two would be located because both had left their village to live a comforting life in Tanzaku Town.
Lastly, would be Jonathan's highest reward if captured whole. His name was Sadai. Jonathan remembered him as another filler character because he was pulverized by Sasuke Uchiha for provoking him. A mercenary skilled at using the petrifying jutsu. He was more or less in the Land of Earth, and he had a bounty worth ten million ryō.
