Chapter 105: Chapter 105: How Good Was My Acting?

Not wasting any time, Jonathan's chakra was siphoned by Kokuō's. The easiest targets were undoubtedly Gatetsu and Chōseki. Jonathan not only knew where they were, they also didn't pose a single threat to him.

Teleporting to the Leaf Village, Jonathan arrived at one of his many marks placed here. He had already prepped a transformation technique, disguising himself as Kankuro without his mask on. Kankuro had a generic face that no one would find suspicious.

Jonathan loathed coming to the Leaf Village. If it were not for his meticulous plans, he wouldn't be visiting here as often. The first place Jonathan ventured to was the Leaf's general store. There were many stores like this, and Jonathan was familiar with what they sold.

Without question, Jonathan successfully bought a map of the Fire country. He could have easily taken it without anyone noticing, but Jonathan was bent on covering his tracks as much as possible. If reports of a general store being mysteriously robbed were made, security in the village would be tightened.

Using the ryō Teuchi had on him after his death, purchasing the map was trouble-free.

Once Jonathan safely stored it, he ventured to an area where no one was watching and entered his smoke form. Ascending high into the air, Jonathan released it and traveled via the lightened boulder technique. The view from above was thoroughly pleasant, but Jonathan hadn't cared for it. He had goals that needed to be met.

Tanzaku Town was an area not too far from the Leaf Village. It was a place tourists often visited due to their attractions. And because of its popular gambling sites, it beguiled a fair bit of individuals. As long as a fair wasn't in town, Jonathan was confident Tsunade would not be present. She was a compulsive gambler and enjoyed partaking in such games.

Jonathan found the town from above. He proceeded to enter his smoke form before landing inside the town. He then traveled without being spotted until he discovered a secluded area with no one around. Releasing his smoked technique, Jonathan took out a gourd and drank from it. At all times Jonathan carried at least three gourds on him, each of which was filled with water from the hot springs of Kyowakoku Jungle's mountain.

Without it, he couldn't hope to enter Sage Mode.

A few minutes passed as Jonathan stood completely still gathering natural energy. Jonathan had not tried mixing Kokuō's chakra with senjutsu yet, but he knew now was not the time to be experimenting. When he entered Sage Mode, he started sensing for Gantetsu and Chōseki. Their faces may not have been fully remembered on earth; but thanks to the bingo book, Jonathan had a clear image of their faces.

It only took seconds to find them. They were in a casino gambling, and they were winning a lot. Jonathan had an array of ways to assassinate both shinobi. He could do things recklessly and kill them out in the open, or he could silently take them both down. But Jonathan knew the quickest way to end things.

"I'm living the dream, Chōseki!" screamed Gantetsu. "Baha-ha!" Gantetsu took a sip of his sake as he continued to bet.

"Keep this up and we'll have enough to buy the whole dang casino," Chōseki happily chuckled. "Put it all on black fifteen."

The dealer rolled the ball on the roulette table. A few spins and it landed on a black fifteen. The whole table watching screamed in joy for Chōseki. Gantetsu looked at him and said, "Congrats partner! You and I made a great decision like I always knew we would."

"Baha-ha!" Chōseki laughed. "Yeah. I'll say."

"Let's go cash all this in and have some more sake at my place," Gantetsu said. He leaned over Chōseki's shoulder whispering, "You know that special someone?" Chōseki looked at Gantetsu, "Are you serious? You got her to come!" Gantetsu smiled at Chōseki and got up from the table with all his earned poker chips. Chōseki followed suit.

In total, both Gantetsu and Chōseki made three million ryō combined. That was equivalent to ninety-five thousand dollars. For gamblers at a casino, it was quite the sum won.

As Gantetsu and Chōseki were walking back to their hotel, Gantetsu could hardly keep his balance. "Come on, partner, you didn't have that much sake," Chōseki said. "I'm fine, Chōseki. But I need to piss quick!" Chōseki laughed at Gantetsu. "Don't laugh, man. I really gotta go," Gantetsu urged. "What? Fine, just go in the back alley or something. I'll wait," Chōseki said.

"We're caring millions, partner. Come watch my back and make sure no one from that casino tries to jump us," Gantetsu said.

"You got a good point," Chōseki replied with concern. He looked around to make sure he wasn't being followed. "I gotta piss, too." The two went to a back alley and stood several feet opposite each other as they urinated.

"Hey, Chōseki. I gotta question for ya," Gantetsu said.

"What is it?" Chōseki asked while urinating.

"How good was my acting?"

Chōseki turned around asking, "What are ya—?" Zip! Three senbon needles embedded with electricity pierced Chōseki's front skull.

Gantetsu watched as Chōseki's body fell to the ground. His face was expressionless.

Suddenly, Gatentsu started writhing in pain. He covered his mouth to prevent himself from screaming. The pain he felt was so unpleasant that he hurled himself into the wall several times. A few seconds and his eyes rolled backwards. Vapour exited through Gantetsu's nostrils and formed into a muscular child.

That child was Jonathan Yuan.
