"Now, just wait a minute!" screeched someone from within the hut.
The tent doors burst open to reveal a more feminine gorilla. She hadn't worn the Leaf Village headband but Jonathan could already tell she was related to Enma.
"I heard everything, honey," the female gorilla said. Enma stared at the gorilla.
"If we're letting people stay here and not even testin' them, we might as well let those snakes come to our land!"
"But, dear. This boy spoke with Elder Baboo," Enma tried explaining. Enma's earlier tough personality seemed to have changed after this gorilla arrived. Jonathan could only think this was likely his wife.
"Elder-shmelder. Who is this boy? Let me see him," the gorilla responded.
Jonathan stood still not having moved an inch. Neither had he found their interaction the least bit amusing. The female gorilla eyed Jonathan down.
"What's your name?" she asked.
"Kabuto Yakushi," Jonathan replied.
"Can you fight?"
"Yes…"
"Will you fight me then?"
"If it means I can stay here, then yes," replied Jonathan.
"Enma, my love. Do you hear that? This boy can fight and will do anything to live in Kyowakoku Jungle!" laughed the gorilla. "Kiki Liz, be reasonable," announced Enma. The gorilla called Kiki Liz ignored him. "Come then, boy. Let us go to the square and have a match." When Jonathan heard that, he squinted. To have a match after barely recovering his chakra was asking for him to lose. On top of that, most summoning animals were proficient fighters.

They weren't like ninjas who used chakra; they fought with senjutsu…
"I have no problem in fighting you. But… my chakra is low. Perhaps you can wait a month and I'll accept your challenge, Kiki Luz." Behind those words, Jonathan would have had no problem choosing to eradicate both her and the rest of these creatures.
"That's queen Kiki Luz to you, boy!" screamed the gorilla. Jonathan did not hesitate to bow and apologize with a steady demeanor.
"Right… Your parents taught you manners," replied Kiki Luz. Jonathan ignored this comment.
"I will give you one—no! Two months. If you cannot defeat me in battle, you must leave Kyowakoku Jungle." Enma just sat there in waiting to see what Jonathan would say. It was at this point, Jonathan understood his circumstance. It's not that Enma nor any of the monkeys and apes didn't want him here. It was a test. Primates weren't just territorial, they were creatures that would become hostile if they deemed someone a threat. Despite having leaders and such, they reveled in the idea of a newcomers.
"Very well," Jonathan smiled inwardly.
Jonathan knew full well that being given even one week would have been more than enough. After their words, Jonathan left their habitat. From what he agreed to was, that Jonathan was given two months to adjust himself and prepare. This was their first mistake. The second was lengthening the time frame. Jonathan only asked for one month but they raised it to two. As for their third mistake, it was letting Jonathan dwell amongst them.
If they knew of Jonathan's true nature, they would have tried to kill him on the spot. It was, however, thanks to Jonathan that he passed Elder Baboo's test. An Elder among animals was more than enough to convince their kingdom whether someone was a threat or not. Jonathan would dwell not with the primates specifically, but he would most certainly be around their land.
He had already known how to fend for himself alone in a forest.
Jonathan left Enma's tent. But he wasn't looking to leave their village just yet. He was still malnourished. While Jonathan was observing their inhabited area, he took notes on where their food was located. A monkey wearing a chef's hat was actually cooking meals not far from Jonathan. That area was crowded with many apes and monkeys jumping up and down. In the midst of their confusion, Jonathan snatched a loaf of banana bread.
His body was so weak. He immediately ate the bread on the spot, not caring who saw him. It was all he needed to feel a little rejuvenated. When he did, Jonathan decided that staying here was no longer important. He had recently made a deal with the queen of primates to battle her. After that, he was on his own. The inhabitants of Kyowakoku Jungle were very territorial. Though Jonathan wasn't related to their species, they didn't seem to care as long as he wasn't causing trouble.
This was advantageous to Jonathan. Their behaviour was similar to the primates on earth. The only real difference was they could speak and fight strategically.
Jonathan walked out of their inhabited area and wondered to the forest.
