Chapter 67: Chapter 67: Jonathan Different From Others

Of the many things Jonathan valued in this world, it was information. Jonathan had not collected enough information on Kyowakoku Jungle. It had not surprised him that other lands existed.

Whether it was a character Jonathan had forgotten about or a technique he hadn't ever seen before, Jonathan would eventually understand its properties. Giving Jonathan time was the worst mistake the primates could do. After what felt like four hundred meters away from their habitat, Jonathan sat down on the grass. His area was filled with trees. It was truly a deep forest no different that the Forest of Death but on a more vibrant scale.

Jonathan focused what little chakra he had and performed his sensing technique. Whether an animal used natural energy or not, it could still be sensed. A few minutes passed and Jonathan confirmed he wasn't being followed or watched at the moment. He stood up and walked back to a body of water that was passed not long ago.  A stream carried food. Jonathan didn't have a pole, but he didn't need it. He removed his garments to reveal his anorexic body and dived in the waters. After about half an hour, Jonathan caught seven large fishes. They weren't like the one's back in the Leaf Village. Their sizes were great.

Jonathan gathered a pile of sticks and bundled them together. He was weak and still tired, but this is what separated Jonathan from others. He had a will to survive. The more someone pushed him into a corner, the more he was determined to fight. Jonathan used a little chakra and performed the fireball technique to start a fire. The fishes were too large, so he cut some of their flesh off and began cooking it over the flames.

Since Jonathan didn't have any tools, he used his chakra dissection blade technique instead. Chakra was the only tool he truly needed. Unlike when he first arrived to this world, Jonathan started with nothing but the clothes on his back. Being in a harsh environment like this was nothing to him. He knew he would not be able to rely on others, so he was mentally prepared for the difficulties this world had to offer.

That was Jonathan's will.

After consuming an entire fish, Jonathan felt tired. His belly was full, so he decided to rest and convert his meal into chakra once it was fully digested. Jonathan had discarded his clothes already, so he only had his undergarment on. But this hadn't bothered Jonathan. Thanks to the fire, things like mosquitos (if they existed in Kyowakoku Jungle) wouldn't be a problem. It was other predators that he considered.

As Jonathan gave thought to this, he heard something slithering. Jonathan rose from his spot and looked around. Not seeing anything, he activated his sensing ability. Only a couple meters away was a giant snake hiding in the bushes.

'That serpent likely smelled the fishes I left out in the open for later,' Jonathan deduced. This was unfortunate for the snake because Jonathan had recovered almost a quarter of his chakra already. It was the perfect time for Jonathan to test something. He performed the tiger seal and looked at where the serpent was lodging himself in.

'Fire style: Flame bomb.'

Oil gathered in Jonathan's mouth. He then spit it out, igniting it with flames causing a bullet of flames to spew from his mouth. The flames started out small but grew immensely large once it hit the bushes. The entire area burned in flames causing the serpent to hiss. It ran away from Jonathan after that.

This technique was once performed by Jiraiya. The only reason Jonathan knew how to perform it was because he copied it after seeing that Anbu kunoichi use it on him. It was the same move that damaged Jonathan's left arm. Even while Jonathan was in a badly injured state, he still managed to use the sharingan's abilities to its fullest capacity.

This is what made Jonathan different from others!

After about an hour or so, Jonathan performed calorie control to restore his chakra and use the excess amount to heal his body. He then returned to cooking his large catch earlier and repeat the process.

The method of eating and then converting what he ate into chakra before healing himself was like cheating. To say Jonathan didn't know what he was doing was redundant. Jonathan was more than just tactful; he understood things in this world. Be it the people or its laws, Jonathan was not a clueless stranger.
