Chapter 71: Chapter 71: Jonathan vs. Kyowakoku Jungle

The thought of having monkeys and apes as a summoning wasn't such a bad thing for Jonathan. The issue was that he was already seen by ninjas from the Leaf Village, the village whose ally was the primate's king.

But the main thing that kept Jonathan from wanting a summoning animal was his desire to slay any living thing in this world. He had no desire to attach his blood to an animal.

It was this land that Jonathan survived on his own. He didn't need to think about food due to the size of the prey. He also didn't need to worry about dangerous predators because he was strong enough to fend them off. Only one time did someone visit him and that was Milo Lulu to report that his fight with Kiki Liz had approached. Aside from that, Jonathan was accustomed to the land.

When he wasn't here eating or training, he was with Elder Baboo learning to draw out senjutsu. And when he wasn't doing that, he was learning about the inhabitants of Kyowakoku Jungle. More specifically, he was gathering supplies. If there was one thing Jonathan was, it was a machinator. Jonathan always thought ahead for everything.

At Jonathan's hideout were small gourds. These gourds were taken from the primate's habitat while Jonathan was in his smoke form. Jonathan didn't just take gourds. He also took apparel. Much like what Enma wore, Jonathan acquired a sleeveless kimono with tiger stripes and white fur trimmings on the shoulders. They fit him well, but the most important thing on Jonathan was his gourds. He had six strapped around his chest and back. These gourds were filled with water from the mountain's hot springs.

By no means was Jonathan going to fight their queen. Jonathan was going to fight their whole race! When night fall approached, Jonathan ventured to the where the primates lived. He stopped just outside their territory.

After spending a couple months in Kyowakoku Jungle, Jonathan understood their patterns. Around this time, a few giant gorillas stood guard for any threats like jungle cats or serpents.

Jonathan sat there after drinking water from the gourd and began gathering his senjutsu. Unlike those who knew Sage Mode, Jonathan had to spend a lot of time standing still in order to gather natural energy. Almost half an hour passed before he fully entered into Sage Mode.

'Smoked release.'

Immediately, Jonathan traveled at great speeds to the nearest gorilla. There were three guarding the borders. And Jonathan chose to enter the nostrils of the one who looked like the fiercest. Though the gorilla was massive, it didn't matter. Jonathan's kekkei genkai was amplified from being in Sage Mode.

Rather than corrode the giant ape's body from the inside like he did with Elder Baboo, he took control over it. Drawing close to the second ape, Jonathan pulled out the gorilla's weapon and stabbed the ape from behind.

"Murdock, what are you doing?!" hollered the dying gorilla. His own kind just stabbed his back.

The third gorilla pulled out his weapon in seeing what Jonathan had just done. Jonathan immediately left the gorilla's body and found a safe haven to watch.

"Murdock! How could you?!" screamed the gorilla. He rushed at Murdock and the two clashed weapons.

"Stop this! Why would I do such a thing? That was my friend," Murdock tried reasoning. The two were in a stalemate.

Jonathan rushed from underneath and reached Murdock's foot. He then performed the leaf whirlwind technique. Amplified by Sage Mode, Murdock lost his balance. The third gorilla took his weapon and impaled Murdock's chest.

"Urgh!" Murdock panted.

Before the last gorilla could relax his instincts, Jonathan quickly activated his smoked form and entered his body.

'Sage art: body oxidation jutsu.'

Jonathan's Sage Mode amplified the technique with senjutsu chakra causing the gorilla to writhe in pain. In but mere moments, his body collapsed and he was dead. Jonathan exited through the gorilla's nostrils. When he reformed, he could feel his sage chakra running out. Jonathan quickly drank another gourd and tried meditating.

Since Jonathan was already in Sage Mode, he needed less time to regather the natural energy. Five minutes later and Jonathan stood up.

An alarm from the primate's habitat began to sound.

"Trouble!" screamed a monkey. "There's trouble outside, everyone!"

Jonathan quickly ran and jumped from tree to tree until he was by the habitat. When he made it, he climbed up another tree and sprung high up into the air.

'Sage art: dragon flame jutsu.'

Massive flames erupted from Jonathan's mouth, encircling a large area within the habit. As Jonathan exhaled vigorously, he could hear monkeys and apes screaming in pain. The sound nearly pierced his ears. By the time Jonathan finished, he landed softly with his head down before raising it.

'Sharingan!'

Jonathan's pupils remained golden as the three tomoe formed. He could see various primates being burned alive. When he noticed the more prevalent one's, the fighters, trying to save people, he quickly rushed to the scene.

"Where did this fire come from? Quickly put it out, gosh darn it!" ordered a proboscis. Jonathan appeared right behind him and impaled him from behind with his hand. Blood dripped from Jonathan's fingers.

The other primates gasped in horror after seeing their comrade fall. Jonathan retracted his hand and pushed the ape aside.

"You monster! I'll kill you!" screamed Kiki Liz.

"Oh..." Jonathan said.

He found himself surrounded by three primates. Kiki Liz performed hand seals cocking her head back. The other two managed to close the distance.

Jonathan swerved his body around one of the primates and struck his spine twice in succession. Kiki Liz released a lightning technique familiar to Jonathan. It was lightning style: false darkness. Jonathan grabbed the primate from behind and used him as a shield. Protecting himself, he used one hand and threw the electrified primate at the monkey nearby. In alarm, the monkey dodged to the right. But just as Jonathan predicted with his sharingan, he had already beaten him to the spot.

'Sage art: chakra dissection blade.'

With an amplified version of chakra dissection blade, Jonathan caused the chakra blade's range to lengthen. They were like two swords extending from his hands. Jonathan elegantly swung his arms, slicing away at the monkey.

When the monkey's severed body dropped dead, Jonathan released the jutsu and looked at the last primate, Kiki Liz. She was anxious, and Jonathan could see the sweat dripping from her fur.

"Sorry for being late."
