Chapter 74: Chapter 74: Time Heals All Wounds

Transportation techniques were not simple. To try and use chakra in order to manipulate a specific point of space took an immense amount of chakra and chakra control. If it had not been for Jonathan's foreknowledge, he would have never attempted practicing it.

At times when Jonathan performed the flying raijin, he'd teleport to his technique formula without any clothes attached. When he learned to teleport with objects attached to his body, he would appear several inches away from his desired location. When he learned to teleport objects separately, without teleporting himself, those objects would be halved.

In total, it took Jonathan an additional three and half months to fully perfect the flying raijin technique.

'At most, I can use this jutsu three times before my chakra runs out,' Jonathan speculated.

As fast and reliable the technique was, Jonathan still lacked the necessary chakra reserves to perform it consistently like Minato Namikaze or Tobirama Senju. If he were in his Sage Mode, however, he could use that technique anyway he deemed necessary.

Throughout that time of training, Jonathan was incapable of focusing on any other techniques or skills because of the time it took to perfect the flying raijin. When he wasn't training, he was monitoring Enma's movements. There was only one moment Enma wondered into Jonathan's territory. Jonathan hid himself and watched at how he reacted. Like a monkey in a zoo, Enma found the land unpleasant due to how charred and destroyed it look. As such, he went away.

Had Enma recalled what Jonathan did, Jonathan would have gladly appeared to put him back in his rightful place. The reason why Jonathan kept Enma alive was because of events that would unfold with Hiruzen Sarutobi and Orochimaru. To say Jonathan wasn't thinking that far ahead would be downgrading his meticulous nature.

Once Jonathan finished perfecting the flying raijin, he managed to sneak to Enma's location and mark him with a technique formula. What was beneficial about these technique formulas was that they were essentially permanent. Even if the performer died, the seal would remain in its place. This is why Jonathan was so cautious when he first met Minato.

With Jonathan's extensive practice in the flying raijin, he was forced to also learn how to perform seals. But his skills in sealing techniques was still not sufficient enough.

On top of all this, he still had an array of techniques that he needed to perfect. Considering his next goal dealt with Orochimaru, Jonathan wasn't planning on wasting any time. Of those many techniques, two techniques peaked Jonathan's interest. With his extensive knowledge in medical ninjutsu, he would expand on those techniques.

The first was cellular activation. Jonathan spent an entire week purposely harming himself. As he did this, he had to wait two days within that time period for his body to naturally heal. When it did, Jonathan would use his refined chakra control to further activate those white blood cells responsible for healing his injuries. This method, though unorthodox due to his self-inflicted wounds, profited Jonathan much.

Both on earth and in the ninja world, Jonathan understood the body's anatomy on a scholarly level. By adding a source called chakra, which was capable of acting as a healing substance, Jonathan would acquire the thing that most ninja had no clue of how to perform: regeneration.

Jonathan speculated that his form of regeneration would not be as fast or efficient as Hashirama Senju's ability. Strangely, only Hashirama's cells allowed for that sort of healing. When Jonathan discovered that Hashirama Senju had that ability because he hadn't developed it but was blessed with it, Jonathan knew he himself had to create his own version of that trait. But it wouldn't be a trait, it would be its own technique derived from others.

These techniques comprised of cell activation, cellular activation and body activation. The first two was used by Tsunade and Kabuto Yakushi respectively. Their knowledge in medical ninjutsu allowed them to perform such feats. Jonathan was by no mean behind them in research or knowledge. In fact, he surpassed them. The last technique, body activation, was created from a movie character named Shinnō. From Jonathan's understanding, both novels and all forms of animation (including some of the renown video games) were in within his grasps.

To perform these highly advanced medical techniques, Jonathan needed to injure himself and then let the body naturally heal. Once it was in that process, Jonathan would have to inject his chakra to his own cells to aid in the repair. Jonathan's flaw in this healing method, however, would be limited. If the body took on an injury that was deemed too great to repair on its own, Jonathan wouldn't be able to heal himself. And if Jonathan lacked the necessary chakra, his body also wouldn't heal.

For Jonathan to effectively use this technique, he more than just injured himself; he carved deep wounds that drew a large amount of blood. Jonathan suffered physically. His small body would scream at him due to the pain he inflicted on himself daily. When Jonathan healed, he would injure other areas the same. He did not wish to wait for the naturally healing process for just one wound. He had multiple severe wounds to practice his cell activation technique on.

No matter the suffering, no matter the hurt and the struggle Jonathan felt, he did not show that grueling pain on his facial expression.
