Chapter 83: Chapter 83: Hōichi

The instant night fall came and Jonathan replenished his chakra, he immediately locked himself in Gōza's room. There had been many citizens inviting Jonathan for dinner or for a nightly drink, but Jonathan denied all of them under the pretense of not feeling well.

And he wasn't feeling well. He loathed being not just here but this whole world.

Jonathan teleported to the mark he placed at the monastery with the flying raijin technique. When arrived, he kept his transformation as Gōza. Walking along the sandy path, he was greeted by what looked like a monk from earth. But it wasn't a monk. These people were known as priests.

"Who goes there?" a priest holding a lantern asked.

"Be at ease, friend. It is I, Senior Gōza from the village."

"Ah! Honourable lord Gōza! What brings you to the temple so late at night," the priest asked respectfully.

"I came to see a boy," Jonathan responded.

"Please, come inside so we may hear all about it," urged the priest.

Jonathan ventured inside the monastery where he was met with the head priest. They greeted each other as Jonathan apologized for not giving them any forewarning of his arrival.

"Not to threat, lord Gōza. An honourable member is always welcomed to the monastery," assured the head priest. "Your journey must have been long, so please, pray tell who this boy you're looking for is, and I will see he pays his respects."

"There is a young prodigy named Hōichi. Is he perhaps here now," Jonathan revealed.

"Yes! Young Hōichi. He indeed is a prodigy. We will fetch him right away. But might I ask what has you so interested in our Hōichi?" asked the head priest.

"It deals with matters of the one-tail. Now please, make haste," answered Jonathan.

The priests left as Jonathan stood waiting completely still for their return. Several minutes later and a priest came back with Hōichi. He was bald like the priests here and he looked tired. 'They must have risen him from his sleep because of me,' Jonathan speculated inwardly.

"Tell me, Hōichi. Are you familiar with the dharma sealing techniques passed down by the late Bunpuku?" Jonathan asked. The priests looked at each other in curiosity. Hōichi simply nodded his head. "Enlighten me, how long did it take you to perfect this power?" Hōichi held up one finger. "A year?" Jonathan asked. Hōichi nodded his head. From what Jonathan recalled, Hōichi perfected that special sealing technique at a very young age. This was the same technique to seal the jinchūriki before Gaara to subdue the one-tail.

"Excuse me, if I may interject, Gōza." The head priest looked a little worried. He likely thought Jonathan was going to use Hōichi to extract the one-tail from Gaara now. The head priest approached Jonathan's side while he was still facing Hōichi expressionless, and he said, "Our Hōichi might be skilled at fuinjutsu but he is far too…yak!"

Jonathan grabbed the head priest by the neck. He then slowly turned his head as hair began growing on his arm and his white sclera turned black.

"You should have addressed me as lord Gōza," Jonathan corrected.

'Sage art: false darkness.'

Opening his mouth, a bolt of lightning decimated the priest's entire head. Jonathan held on to his headless body as smoke arose from the charred flesh wound. Releasing his grip, the body collapsed to the ground. Both the priest and Hōichi had a surprised look on their faces as they started to run. Jonathan just simply stared at the corpse without remorse.

By the time the two running turned a corner to seek help, they bumped into Jonathan. Still in his Simeon Sage Mode, Jonathan lifted up the smaller Hōichi by the neck. He began struggling as Jonathan choked him.

'Sharingan genjutsu.'

Hōichi's mind went blank as he stopped in motion. His head dropped as the rest of his body went limp, so Jonathan let him go. The priest watching this spectacle slowly tried walking back due to fear. When Jonathan looked at him, he turned to run in fear. Seeing this, Jonathan pulled out four senbon needles. Of the many things Jonathan learned to do over his training, he would test it out in his Simeon Sage Mode.

Jonathan gripped the senbon around his fingers and channeled his lightning chakra. This caused the senbon to be covered in electricity. Jonathan then threw all the senbon at the running priest. Because of the lightning amplification and Jonathan's increased physical strength, the moment they left Jonathan's hands, four open holes could already be seen in the priest's skull. He slowly dropped dead.
