"Report, honourable seniors!"

A sand shinobi barged in the middle of a council meeting. All the seniors looked at him as he panted with sweat dripping down his face.

"My apologize for disturbing the meeting, my lords. But there's an emergency!" he yelled.

"Speak," Ebizō instructed. "My lords… It's the Sand Monastery. All of the priests and children were found dead!" the shinobi announced.

The entire room became awestruck. Murmurs unfolded before someone finally spoke up.

"Tell us the details," Jonathan posing as Gōza asked as though he was worried.

"My lord, we hadn't heard from them in days, so we sent a messenger. He reported back after witnessing a horrible sight. When we sent investigators, they said they'd been dead for three days now."

"What?! Three days?!" questioned Ryūsa. "Someone inform the Kazekage this instance!"

"You, give me a report of the details this instance," Sajō demanded. Baki immediately stood up from his seat saying, "I'm going to go and see this for myself."

"No, Senior Baki!" At those words from Ebizō, the entire room looked at him. "This matter occurred three days ago. Whoever the perpetrator is, they have likely already fled the village," Ebizō claimed. "But we won't know for certain until we investigate. Everyone, make a report to the villagers. If the perpetrator did not flee the country by now, then he'll be underneath our noses undoubtedly!"

Three nights ago, Jonathan ventured to the monastery and slaughtered everything that moved there. In total were six children, five priest and one head priest. The last person was Hōichi, whom Jonathan placed under a genjutsu to extract every bit of information he knew about the sealing technique. Jonathan already had an idea of what it was and how to use it; but, what he needed was the formula for the fundamentals. Once he acquired it, he decapitated Hōichi without remorse.

All this took Jonathan less than two hours. Once his task was finished, he left after taking with him a biwa, inscription material, a copy of the formula, as well as the written lyrical notes to be played.

When news got out three days later, the Sand Village was in an uproar. Most of the citizens began questioning Rasa's poor lack of security. Others were getting nervous about staying within the village. Despite the council's efforts, they sent Jōnin and Chūnin to gather as much information as possible. Being a member of the council, Jonathan was allowed to read the report.

And when he did, he felt content. Not a single thing he did would trace back to him. As far as the investigation knew, the assaulter was skilled in lightning techniques and that it was likely two or more of them that performed this act. Rasa was enraged when he read the report. Though Jonathan was not fully accepting of his minor achievement. There was something he needed but could not find. That thing was a special tea pot. Jonathan had never seen it and Hōichi had no reliable information on its whereabouts.

"Senior Ikanago, might I have a word with you?" Baki asked. It had already been a couple days since that tragic incident befell upon the monastery.

"What is it, Baki?"

"Have you noticed that strange pattern?" Baki answered.

"Speak, Baki. What strange pattern?" Ikanago demanded.

"First Senior Gōza was attacked by Sasori of the Red Sand, and now the monastery. Surely even you could make that connection," whispered Baki. The two were talking secretly within Ikanago's office.

"That does seem strange, yes…" Ikanago pondered things for a moment. "Have you mentioned this to anyone else?" he asked.

"Yes. I actually spoke with Senior Jōseki and Senior Gōza," Baki answered.

"What did they say?"

"Neither of them had any idea what I was talking about. Senior Gōza especially seemed oddly strange." Baki was quite the intelligent man. He wasn't like Jonathan but he had a mind to differentiate between things that seemed peculiar. While Ikanago, someone who Jonathan never heard of till he first entered the Sand Village, was someone who cared about lineage and the betterment of the village.

"I'll address this at our next meeting, Baki, so don't worry," Ikanago assured.

"I don't think that'll be such a good idea, Senior Ikanago."

"And why is that?"

Baki did not give Ikanago a straight answer. He turned around and left his office perturbed.

"Ah, Senior Ebizō. I was looking for you."

"Eh? Senior Gōza. What can I do you for?" asked Ebizō. Jonathan walked into Ebizō's office. It was just the two of them.

"Will you agree to a decision I have made, honourable senior?" Jonathan's eyes were widened as he stared at Ebizō, activating the sharingan. "It's important you do at our next meeting!"
