Saya and Sana were quiet throughout the entire ride. If Jonathan were to guess, he'd say they were no more than four years of age.
"Hey, mister, why does papa call you lord?" Saya curiously asked Jonathan.
"Now, now, Saya. Let's not bother lord Gōza. He's an important figure to our village," Saeka sweetly said.
"Important. Figure?" Saya repeated.
This caravan had two horses pulling it from the front. In the back were Jonathan and the three females. At the seats in the front was the father, Saka.
"Miss Saeka, no need to trouble yourself with a child's curiosity," Jonathan kindly stated.
But even Jonathan knew how dangerous Saya would become when she grew older. To be fair, she was very much insane due to her desire to manipulate things. This was why she chose to use puppets as her fighting style. That doll Jonathan saw earlier was proof of that.
As far as he was concerned, she hadn't learned to harness her chakra to those levels yet. Then there was Sana, a sensory type. Even if Jonathan extracted her DNA, he wouldn't gain that ability. Sensors were that unique. The others, Saka and Saeka didn't use any chakra.
For a whole day, Jonathan had been traveling with this family. They seemed oddly normal, something Jonathan felt disturbing. Nonetheless, Jonathan played the role of a lord excellently. During night time when they sat and ate, he answered all their questions with confidence. While they were traveling, he spoke little and played the biwa to help lighten their mood. And when he was resting, he was using his sensing technique out of precaution.
That decision would not be in vain because two ninjas were following Jonathan's caravan.
Jonathan's sensing technique was developed from the Yamanaka clan. He couldn't accurately depict what the ninjas looked like. He could only tell that there were two chakra signatures which had been following them. If he recognized those signatures, he might have an idea of who or what it could be. Instead, Jonathan let them follow for as long as they did.
Considering they hadn't attacked, they were likely sent by a Sand Council member to watch. Jonathan had Ebizō under his sharingan genjutsu which was released before departing, so he knew Ebizō couldn't have been the one to give this order. Rasa might have been able to, but Jonathan didn't hear anything about that notion. Then there was Baki. He was the most likely person to send not one but two ninjas to trail Jonathan. And not out of suspicion but as a safety measure.
This journey was going to take three extra days.
On the second night, the family and Jonathan sat down by a fire. Jonathan wondered why the caravan wasn't being ambushed or stopped abruptly. It was because those two ninjas were clearing the path.

"Hey, lord mister," Saya asked Jonathan.
"Saya, it's lord Gōza not lord mister," corrected Saeka.
Jonathan hadn't been paying attention to the two. Instead, he was focusing on sensing the ninjas nearby. As he kept up the technique, Jonathan saw they were fighting another ninja close by. Likely a rogue ninja.
"Is papa in trouble?" Saya asked Jonathan.
Saka began to laugh when he heard this. "Papa's not in trouble, Saya. Our lord Gōza here's accompanying us on our little family vacation."
Sana, the youngest daughter, tried to grab Jonathan's ghutrah. None of the others wore one, so it piqued her curiosity.
"Sana, don't play with lord Gōza's ghutrah," Saeka said. Jonathan let out a bellowing laughter.
"Don't worry, lady Saeka. Children are prone to wonder what things look strange to them are," Jonathan wholeheartedly said. He picked up Sana and removed his ghutrah to let her wear it. This caused her to laugh. Both Saeka and Saka both smiled. Even Saya, as mentally insane as she would be, found the scene amusing.
After dinner, the family and Jonathan went to bed. Had it not been for the calorie control technique, Jonathan would have long ran out of chakra due to keeping up his transformation and using the sensing technique. Throughout most of the night, Jonathan would periodically wake up to perform his sensing technique. The same two ninjas following the caravan had finished their fight. Jonathan's sense the rogue ninja anymore, so he likely fled the scene.
Jonathan, however, kept a steady eye open.
The next day, the caravan managed to cross its second border. The first border was entrance to the Land of Stone. The second border was to the Land of Earth. It was fairly simple. They checked the caravan, verified who the travelers were and let them pass without much trouble. Considering no one in the caravan bore a Sand headband, it was very straightforward.
Based on the information Joanthan was given from Ebizō, they weren't going to meet directly in the Stone Village. A location was chosen by Ōnoki in the Land of Earth. It was a remote village on the outskirts. Saka and his family just so happened to be needing a vacation, so the Sand gladly funded it for his family.
Jonathan did not need to venture exactly where the Stone Village was anyways. What he desired was entrance to the Land of Earth without hassle. The ninja world could be quite cruel to travelers or those not residing in villages. Jonathan might have been strong, but he knew which routes to take that caused him the least amount of problems.
