Chapter 92: Chapter 92: Teuchi Missing

It was quite easy for Jonathan to traverse places due to the hidden mole technique. Once he traveled to low depths underground, he was virtually undetectable. When he reappeared to the surface, Jonathan was several distances away from the Stone Village.

His task was to follow the Jōnin and their teams to the Leaf Village. Though Jonathan could have gone anytime he pleased with the map, he knew for the next two years nothing great occurred. He used his time to discover other territories and train towards his foundation.

Right now, Naruto Uzumaki was turning five in five months. That made most of the others around his age by now. Within those two years, Neji Hyūga was to receive his seal after his father passed away, Itachi would be promoted to Chūnin, and Konohamaru (Hiruzen Sarutobi's grandson), would be born if he wasn't already. All this was what happened in the original timeline. However, Jonathan's arrival caused a butterfly effect. Whereabouts of Kabuto are still a mystery, and Izumi's progression still needs to be known.

Izumi Uchiha was Jonathan's insurance.

From the sky, Jonathan was already in his smoke form. He traversed high above to where he blended with the clouds. From below were the ninjas traveling to the Leaf. All Jonathan needed to do was release his technique at night to restore his chakra, then perform the technique again when they traveled in the morning. This process repeated for about three days. It was a necessity Jonathan pay attention to this group. Because if they were entering the Chūnin exams, it was possible Jonathan might need to partake in it.

The only known person to graduate from the exams this year was Iruka Umino, but Jonathan needed to verify it.

Once Jonathan spotted the village's location from high above, he descended down to the top of the walls. This was Jonathan's second time being up here. The first time was at night during the nine-tail's attack. Jonathan did not feel like Naruto Uzumaki when he returned to the Leaf. Nor did he feel like Sasuke Uchiha when arrived. There was a cold, emptiness that made Jonathan feel like destroying this godforsaken area.

Using his smoke form, Jonathan traversed the village and headed straight to the Uchiha clan district.

"You're not like my son, but you have great potential. That's the only reason I'm allowing you to participate in this year's Chūnin exams."

"I understand…" Izumi replied as though she was lifeless.

'I see…' Jonathan thought inwardly. 'Itachi Uchiha likely became an Anbu not long ago. He would be in Kakashi Hatake's team at this time. That would also mean the rookie nine were already academy students.' Jonathan continued to contemplate things.

He knew that Izumi graduated at the age of eleven because that was the age restriction they placed on all arriving students. This age restriction was implemented the year Sasuke Uchiha started attending. And at that time, Itachi Uchiha was also age eleven. That also meant Izumi would have had to graduate at the latest three years ago as opposed to the original timeline.

It should be of no surprise how talented and skilled these ninja were at such young ages. Because next year, Itachi Uchiha would become an Anbu Captain at only twelve years old.

The Chūnin exams were going to be held soon, so Jonathan wasted no time in headed to his next destination. When he arrived, he noticed the ramen shop was closed… Jonathan ventured to Teuchi's house via his smoke form. Inside, he found a different family living comfortably there.

'Teuchi, you infidel.' Jonathan did not get upset but was bent on finding where Teuchi had run to.

But because of the Chūnin exams about to take place, Jonathan couldn't waste anymore time. Of the many things that was never mentioned, it was how the other Chūnin exams were held. Anko Mitarashi and Ibiki Morino, might have already been Chūnin by now; but, even Jonathan knew they weren't going to be proctoring this year's exams.

The only things Jonathan was aware of is, that the preliminaries weren't going to be held. There would only be three stages. The second stage was the Forest of Death. Following after that stage, the finals would be held two months later. As for the first part of the exam, Jonathan didn't care for it. Or rather, he hadn't been able to pay attention to it while he was in the Leaf. He was too busy managing things at that time.

It was the very Chūnin exams that put a hinder to Jonathan's long-awaited plans in the first place. This year, however, Jonathan wasn't just going to watch; he was going to intervene.
