Chapter 94: Chapter 94: Prove Your Strength

Jonathan managed to discover Izumi's group only minutes into his search. He traveled high and low until he wound up discovering them from above. When he did, he transformed into the one face Izumi Uchiha had etched in her heart. For all she knew, the fight that happened that day probable never even happened.

But the instance she saw Jonathan's wardrobe from afar, she immediately began chasing him.

"It's been a while," Jonathan said.

Izumi pulled out a kunai and held it in a battle stance saying, "You! Who are you?!"

Jonathan released the chakra from his feet and began falling face first to the ground. Only a few feet from impact and Jonathan twirled his body to land safely on one knee, eyes closed. Slowly rising, he opened his eyes to reveal his sharingan.

Izumi felt her heart beat.

She wouldn't know what caused that feeling. It was because her mother's eyes were staring directly at her.

"You want to know who I am?" Jonathan asked.

"Bastard! Don't play your mind games. You know what happened to my mother," Izumi claimed.

"I'm quite… ashamed," Jonathan answered. "After all these years and you still haven't advanced your sharingan?" Jonathan felt disappointed because when he looked at Izumi's sharingan, they only bore two tomoe on each eye.

"A—ashamed?!" gasped Izumi. She swiped the air with her arm. "Four years ago, you attacked me and I never heard from you since. I asked the clan about you and no one knew who you were." Izumi began to get upset. "All this time I thought I was going crazy, but I knew it couldn't be true. You… You know what happened to my mother… What truly happened."

Jonathan couldn't help but think she was about to cry. She didn't act like the same Izumi that fought her back in the clan those many years ago. Nor did she act like the same Izumi that treated everyone with a cold shoulder. The way she looked at Jonathan was like she was pleading for him to give her the answers. Jonathan stood staring blankly at the eleven-year old girl before speaking.

"Hazumi Uchiha's legacy was passed down to me. If you truly wish to know what happened, you'll have to prove your strength."

At those words, Jonathan caused Izumi to dash towards him with rage.

Izumi held her kunai with intense force and tried to slash at Jonathan's ribcage but Jonathan easily side-stepped away from it. 'Oh… she's much faster than before.' Izumi continued her barrage of slashes which were all evaded by Jonathan. It looked like the two had been dancing. Seeing Jonathan was quicker, Izumi leapt back while throwing her kunai. Jonathan stared the kunai before catching it through the round hole with ease. The instant Jonathan looked, Izumi had already thrown five shuriken at him.

'Shadow shuriken jutsu!'

Jonathan kept a straight face as he twirled the kunai and held it in front.

Clang, clang, clang, clang, clang!

The first five shuriken were deflected effortlessly. Jonathan could easily see their trajectory. But before Jonathan could make his move, more than ten shuriken were already closing in on Jonathan. Izumi was producing and throwing a high number of shuriken at Jonathan from her shadow shuriken technique.

Clang, clang, clang, clang, clang!

As Jonathan endlessly kept deflecting the shuriken, he looked to his side and saw another Izumi!

'A shadow clone?' Jonathan calmly questioned.

Izumi already had her tiger seal prepared as she shot forth a massive fireball technique at Jonathan. Using his hi-speed movement technique, Jonathan ran to the opposite side.

Boom!

The smoke cleared as he successfully dodged. But when it did, he was already being surrounded by four Izumi clones. "I'm impressed," Jonathan praised. Izumi didn't waste any time trying to reply. A clone leapt towards Jonathan trying to grab him. Jonathan tripped her and chopped the back of her neck causing her to disperse. Another clone was already in motion ready to jab Jonathan from behind, but Jonathan moved his head then grabbed her wrist, throwing her over his shoulders.

The third Izumi closed the distance by sliding to trip Jonathan's legs. Jonathan quickly hopped while tucking in his knees. The thrown Izumi flipped her body upside down and fired the fireball jutsu just as Jonathan was in the air.

'Lightning style: false darkness.'

The lightning pierced the fireball technique, completely destroying the Izumi clone. When Jonathan landed, he grabbed the third clone by the hair, lifted her up and spun in three-sixty-degree motion, slicing her throat with a kunai.

Poof!

With the last Izumi standing, Jonathan figured she'd be the real one since all the others attacked while she stayed behind. "I admit. You've grown, but you've far from proved your strength to m—" before Jonathan could finish, another Izumi tore through the ground from underneath him with her first aimed at Jonathan's chin!

'I've got him!' Izumi believed.

Jonathan closed his eyes before stepping back. Izumi's fist just narrowly missed Jonathan. When he opened his eyes, the two were locked sharingan to sharingan. "How careless," Jonathan managed to say. While Izumi was still in the same position with her arm up, Jonathan reeled back his fist and punched Izumi in her abdomen.

This caused Izumi to cough up blood. Her face contorted awkwardly as she fell flat on the ground. Jonathan looked and saw the clone standing afar had dispersed. The real Izumi was the one holding her hurt body. She tried clinching to the ground with her hand as though she was dying. Jonathan just stared at her emotionless.

He walked away saying, "What use is a weak Uchiha to me?"

"Wha—wait…"  Izumi struggled to say. She was gasping for air as though she couldn't breathe. Jonathan turned around to see an angered look in her eyes.

"Oh…" Jonathan said amusingly.

Izumi had unlocked all three tomoe to her sharingan!

Jonathan stared at her. She was breathing so hard that she couldn't form her words. Jonathan could see his very reflection in her rage filled eyes. Then she fainted.

'Foolish, neophyte. You still have a long way to go before you become of any use to me.'
