Chapter 95: Chapter 95: Once Proud Owner

There was no longer a need for Jonathan to continue watching the Chūnin exams. From what he understood, those who made it to the finals wouldn't have their battle for the next two months.

Before healing Izumi Uchiha, Jonathan performed surgery and signaled for her teammates to locate her. He then departed without a trace. Izumi didn't impress Jonathan until the end of the fight. This was because she managed to advance her sharingan. If she hadn't, Jonathan would have left her to slowly die.

Throughout that fight, he analyzed Izumi's growth. As well as her potential. To be able to fight with four shadow clones whilst performing techniques was at level was now easy to do. Shadow shuriken, a clone to use fireball, and then her last attack to hide underground without Jonathan noticing until the last second. Without Jonathan's sharingan and his impeccable reaction speed, he would have been hit without question. But even if he were hit, that likely would have been Izumi's last attack. Jonathan could tell how severely low her chakra was.

He hadn't just underestimated Izumi Uchiha's skills, he even pushed her to her limits.

'Fire style and earth style… That was how she and her teammates passed the first stage of the Chūnin exams.'

There were only a few things Jonathan had in mind to help nurture Izumi's growth. However, if she failed to bring out his desired results within that time, he would inevitably end her life.

Feeling content that his insurance policy was still increasing, Jonathan left the Forest of Death to discover something else that required his immediate attention.

It took several hours but Jonathan finally found the person he was looking for, Teuchi. Inside a brothel, Jonathan watched as a drunken Teuchi wearing lavished clothing sat at an expensive booth. There were two women with him and he looked more intoxicated than the other men. Jonathan approached his table disguised as Jirobou. Since Jonathan only used the sharingan mixed with taijutsu in his fight against Izumi, he still had enough chakra left.

"It's time to go, Teuchi…" Jonathan's voice was deep. His stature was also threatening.

"What the…? Who the heck are you?" Teuchi asked.

'Strange. Whether it's because he's drunk or his attitude's changed over the years, he's surely different,' Jonathan thought. But anyone who's ever heard of Teuchi before would never mistake his face. Jonathan grabbed Teuchi by the collar and lifted him up off the table.

"Like I said. It's time to go," Jonathan repeated. The ladies screamed and immediately ran away just as expected.

No one paid attention as Teuchi was being dragged along by the collar. Despite his plea, most people just ignored him. Some even looked happy at what was being done. Jonathan took note of this. Behind the brothel exit, Jonathan opened the door and threw Teuchi into the trashcans. It was just the two of them now.

"Alright, alright! Calm down, big guy. How much do I owe ya?" Teuchi begged.

"Thirty million," Jonathan answered.

"Thirt… Thirty million!" Teuchi screamed. "What are ya, insane?! I've never owed someone that much before." As Teuchi finished, Jonathan released his transformation. This was one of his first few times ever revealing himself to someone purposefully. Though Jonathan was wearing different attire and was older, his face was not that much different.

Teuchi had a severe panic attack. "Ya… You! You're that boy who killed my daughter!" Jonathan did not have time to listen to Teuchi wine about his loved one's. Rather, he needed answers.

"Where is my money, Teuchi?"

Teuchi was so distraught at Jonathan's presence that he couldn't find the right words to say. This was because for close to a year, Jonathan had both his daughter and him under an illusion. After the illusion broke, Teuchi had memory relapses of Jonathan's face for several years. He couldn't tell what was real and what wasn't anymore. All he knew was that his daughter was killed by Jonathan Yuan!

"Allow me to make things easier for you, infidel," Jonathan stared into Teuchi's fearful eyes and activated sharingan genjutsu. He then proceeded to ask Teuchi several questions as to what happened those last few years. Just like Jonathan expected, Teuchi entered into a deep sadness after finding out his daughter died. This caused him to close down his ramen shop. When he found that he was making a lot of money (due to Jonathan's business decisions), he began spending his days getting drunk.

With no wife or daughter, Teuchi slept with whores. And because his wages never decreased due to Jonathan's investment in the thriving weapons shop, Teuchi splurged on a seemingly endless amount of money. He hadn't known exactly where the money was coming from. Neither had he cared. He just understood it wasn't running out and he didn't have to work for it anymore. Money, alcohol, women. It all corrupted who the real Teuchi was before Jonathan came to this world.

The Leaf kept an eye on him for a month, but once the case with Jonathan Yuan was closed, they left Teuchi to his own devices. As long as he wasn't being reported by the Uchiha police, they didn't care what he did. Teuchi never knew Jonathan and couldn't remember the last year he spent with him. Only nightmares of Jonathan's sharingan tormented him in his sleep…

When Jonathan asked Teuchi how much money he had, Teuchi revealed it was less than thirty-nine thousand ryō. Thirty million ryō was equivalent to over two-hundred thousand American dollars. If anything, Jonathan would have been able to double that amount had he been given the chance. For Teuchi to splurge all that money in less than four years vexed Jonathan inside.

Releasing his genjutsu, Teuchi looked around in a daze before seeing where he was. He began to cower, saying, "Please. Don't put me under a genjutsu again! I beg you. I'll change things."

Jonathan slowly approached Teuchi groveling by the trashcans. There was no one around. They were deep in the dark alley. Even with all his screaming, still no one noticed. And Jonathan wasn't careless. He made sure he wasn't being watched or followed. No one here were ninjas after all.

"How disappointing," Jonathan said as he reached Teuchi who was kneeling down. "These four years I spent training, growing my prowess to depths people could not bear to comprehend. Yet you…" Jonathan lifted Teuchi by the throat. His luxurious shoes were dangling a foot off the ground.

"I…ack! Promise I'll…ack!" Teuchi said as Jonathan held him up high. Jonathan's dark eyes looked at Teuchi. They were menacing, without expression. It caused Teuchi's life to flash before his eyes.

"Urgh!"

Like cutting through butter, a hole was made where Teuchi's heart was. Jonathan removed his arm and dropped the once proud owner of Ichiraku Ramen shop.
