Only ten minutes had passed while Jonathan was observing Izumi Uchiha. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary until they both heard a knock at the door. Jonathan looked as Izumi got up to answer. It was Itachi Uchiha with food.
"Morning, Izumi. Congratulations on advancing in the Chūnin exams." Itachi was just as Jonathan expected, a pacifist. He didn't seem hostile. "My mother made this for you when she found out. I figured I'd be the one to deliver them before my mission."
For the first time, Jonathan witnessed Izumi Uchiha smile. "Thanks, Itachi."
"What's the matter?" Itachi asked.
"What do you mean?" questioned Izumi.
"Did the Chūnin exams tire you out that much?"
"Yeah. I'm just tired is all. Thanks for your concern, Itachi. Oh! And let your mom know how grateful I am please." Jonathan couldn't help but see why Itachi was deemed as the number one liked Naruto character to date. He was quite perceptive. Enough to even tell how troubled Izumi was.
Like a typical closed-off individual, Izumi let Itachi leave and closed the door with the food. She stared at the package for a second before walking to the fridge and placing it inside.
From what Jonathan remembered, Fugaku ordered for the two to get close. It's evident that it wasn't completely wasteful. In the original timeline, Izumi Uchiha loved Itachi. This time around, Jonathan could tell she had no real affection for him. Itachi didn't have that sort of affection for her either, but he had enough heart to at least check up on her from time-to-time.
Just from that conversation alone, Jonathan was able to tell that she didn't have people to turn to about her problems; meaning, she hadn't reported the recent battle with Jonathan yesterday. Jonathan knew she wouldn't because of how she abandoned her teammates to come fight. Even Izumi's behaviour meant she was growing more distant from her clan.
Eventually, she'll stop at nothing to discover the truth. Jonathan speculates that Izumi will go as far as looking into secret files from the Leaf. With or without permission. What's odd to Jonathan is her willingness to continue being a ninja for the Village. This was likely due to Fugaku's manipulation. As long as she stayed, she could grow stronger with hopes of beating Jonathan.

If he felt like, Jonathan could fully turn Izumi against her clan. Doing so now would be foolish, however. She wasn't strong enough.
After leaving Izumi's house, Jonathan performed the flying raijin technique and appeared in the Stone Village. There were several locations that Jonathan placed his marks in: Kyowakoku Jungle, the Sand Village, the Rock Village, the Grass Village and the Leaf Village. In each location, at the most five marks were placed in secure areas that could never be spotted. What made the flying raijin so superior wasn't just that marks were permanent, but they couldn't be sensed unless activated. And even if it was, it was done at the speed of light.
Jonathan's main purpose for coming back to the Leaf was to determine where he was in the original timeline. There was also the need to check on those he's affected recently.
The first place Jonathan traveled to was the Stone Village's mission report building. It was similar to the Leaf's Jōnin Station. The Stone was a lot more convenient of a village to be in for Jonathan. Their security wasn't bad but their ninjas weren't like the Leaf's. There were hardly any sensors and it was quite easy for Jonathan to effortlessly blend in.
For more than two years he had been doing so. When Jonathan arrived at the building, he looked through their documents. The things Jonathan was looking for was reports on Han. After Han returned from his mission, he stayed in the village around other ninjas. Hardly could Jonathan approach him. The best way to track his movements was seeing how the Stone commanded him.
As Jonathan skimmed through reports, he found something interesting. Han was recently sent out on a mission outside the village. The location was a town by the Earth country's outskirts. This mission was assigned only two days ago while Jonathan was traveling to the Leaf.
Based off the information from the report, it would take about a day and a half to travel to that town. If anything, Han was either still there or on his way back. Jonathan placed the files back and immediately headed towards that direction. He knew if he left now, he could make it before the time. But there were still complications. The first was the route taken and the second was what the report said, a shinobi named Jibachi was accompanying Han.
Jonathan took to the skies via his smoke form after grabbing his needed supplies. When he reached high enough and outside the village's range, he released the form and flew using the lightened boulder technique. In his physical form, he could preserve his chakra more efficiently.
This was risky to Jonathan. He just performed the flying raijin technique. Because of that, it already reduced his chakra reserves by more than thirty-three percent. This was the reason Jonathan targeted Han. If he had the choice, he wouldn't bother with tailed beast. But Jonathan had to have something to compensate for his lack of chakra.
Ever since Jonathan was in the Sand Village, he had been planning for this moment from the beginning. It was more than just having the shear will to accomplish his goals no matter the cost; it was his pure, unmoving patience.
