The Indian guy approached Lucas for the first time. Only, for Lucas, it would be his second time meeting this man.
"My name is Farhan. I just wanted to ask. What do you plan to do now?"
Lucas then looked at the guy and turned his head to the forest as he said something.
"I intend to go there. You stay here and protect the others."
He pointed in the direction of the forest.
"But, you should have seen the Greenhorn earlier. Isn't it too dangerous to wander around?"
Farhan looked anxious as he felt an ominous feeling coming from the insides of the forest.
"There's no guarantee that it will be safe to stay here." Lucas said while shaking his head.
"Do what you want. I will stay here with the others."
The man sighed and walked away from him.
Afterwards, Lucas went up to one of the trees with the black-coloured leaves and took a handful amount of them with his hands.
'Crunch' 'Crunch'
He ran towards the inner part of the woods and grabbed a nearby branch similar to his prior actions.
'Why am I rushing again? I will a suffer a similar fate if I continue the same pattern.'
As he thought of this, he crushed the black leaves and rubbed them on the edge of the stick.
There was some weird black mucus coming out of each one and they were giving off an awful stench.
'This time is different. I learned that I should never let a Greenhorn escape. And I'm 90% sure, this should be poison.'
With a determined look on his face, he dashed once more without hesitating.
Lucas ran for several minutes and then he finally stopped.
'It should be good here. From what I experienced earlier, those guys never move in a group.'
He waited for some time to pass while spreading more mucus on his weapon.
'Crackle' 'Crackle' 'Crackle'
"There you go. That's the first one. Come! I need to pay back your daddy."
He taunted the monster and like his first encounter, the Greenhorn bolted at him like a madman.
However, before the beast could get close, he managed to kick its abdomen.
The monster fell over and Lucas saw this as another opportunity to attack.
'Stab'
"Kuaaahh!"
The Greenhorn lost its right eye and the mucus successfully got mixed inside.
Despite the fatal damage it took, the monster continued to crazily attack him, but this time its movements were more sluggish.
This made Lucas have an easier time dodging its reckless assaults.
"Ha! So that's why you were evading my kick before. Now, I'm sure that these leaves are poisonous."
Lucas recalled the moment when he was fighting several Greenhorns. His shoes were filled with crushed leaves due to running all over the place.
Then, when he tried to give a kick to the monsters, they saw the leaves sticking to his shoes as they unconsciously backed away.
Although, he only found it bizarre for an instant and got it off his mind when he saw multiple Greenhorns coming at him as he simply had no time to ponder about it.
Around this time, the monster succumbed to its death as a violet Loop came out of the corpse.
"Nice! A Loop of Mana. But, I still have no clue how to use it whatsoever."
He has absorbed the Loop and went to the dead body to use its claws as a sharpener.
The sharp pointy ends of this monster made him remember the wounds they inflicted on him when he got surrounded.
'One by one, they aren't that much of a threat. But, if it's a horde of these things, it's a different matter.'
Once he was done sharpening the wooden stick, he plucked countless leaves from a nearby tree and crushed them as he spread the liquid on the pointy tip.
Later, he chose a direction and moved more silently now that he was in the territory of Greenhorns.

Three hours later after Lucas fought his first opponent in the woods...
He was walking back to the general location of the fountain as he looked at his updated status chart.

With minor injuries on his body, Lucas was pondering over the new variable in his chart.
'Spirit? What effect could this one have? Spirit refers to the mind or the soul of a being. Hmm...'
He then sat down and put his weapon on his lap after he checked that there was no presence close to him.
This new status came out when he saw an orange Loop floating from one of the dead monsters and consumed it.

At first, he thought nothing had changed. But, when he concentrated to feel the surrounding mana, he instinctively knew that it was now possible to control the dot-sized violet particles.
Before, no matter how hard he tried, Lucas could never manage to move the mana in the air.
He even tried chanting some embarrassing lines out of desperation.
'Ah... I wish I could forget those moments.'
He shook his head and closed his eyes to remove the unnecessary thoughts.
The image of Al'Zaroth using his mana came to his mind.
Lucas was trying to copy the process of guiding the mana in the surrounding environment and lead it to his wooden stick.
Beads of sweat dripped down from his forehead as he tried to control the little mindless particles.
Slowly but surely, he was feeling something invisible covering the outer part of his weapon.
When he felt that the process was complete, he opened his eyes and grabbed the branch.
'Success'
A thin violet aura fully surrounded the edges of the wooden stick.
He got up and waved it around for a few seconds while suddenly, a sensation of something being taken away was felt.
"I guess I can't use it that long. I need to use half my concentration to maintain it as well."
Suddenly, he used the weapon to stab a nearby tree.
'Crack'
A two-centimetre hole was now burrowed halfway through the trunk of the 35-meter tree.
Lucas smiled at this sight while the violet aura vanished from the stick.
'It wouldn't be the same thing as before.'
He recalled the figure of the giant Greenhorn and walked once again to his destination.

Three hours ago when Lucas separated from the humans...
Farhan was currently sitting beside the fountain while reflecting on something.
"Yo, the guy with the grey shirt! Come here."
The black person who also asked the guide previously called him out.
"Hello. Did something happen?"
There was another person besides the guy, but he walked toward the man without much worry.
"There's something I need to discuss with you. By the way, what's your name? Oh! You can call me James and this guy is Kelvin, he's my fellow policeman."
The man introduced himself and the other guy.
"I'm Farhan, nice to meet you. Anyways, why did you pick me?"
He returned the greeting as he looked at Kelvin who had a gun equipped on his belt.
"We thought only you and the other guy would be reliable. Sadly, he seemed to have walked away somewhere."
Kelvin said while looking disappointed.
'The other guy? Oh! he meant Lucas'
"We need to control the situation. At this rate, god knows what happens here later."
Kelvin continued talking and pointed to the other humans who were either panicking or crying.
"Fuck! If only I knew this would happen, I would've brought my gun."
The other black guy cursed out as he expressed his annoyance.
Farhan finally noticed that only Kelvin had a firearm on him.
"Who could've predicted this. We just got off from work and we wanted to go for a drink. Then, we're stuck in this crazy stuff."
Kelvin shrugged his shoulders and was about to walk to the fountain.
'Rumble'
All of the humans looked in one direction in unison. Coincidentally, it was also the place Lucas went.
"Roaaaaaaaaar!"
The King Greenhorn and its minions emerged from the woods without notice.
No one knew why they suddenly showed up, but one thing was for sure, it was the time to run.
"Kyaaa!"
"Run! Everyone spread out!
There was no break for these humans to communicate with each other.
All of them just ran instinctively as they chose the opposite side of where the monsters appeared.
Others were too late to escape given that they were too close to the beast's location.
'Splat' 'Slice' 'Stab'
Screams were heard in the distance. With the screeches of the one-horned green beasts echoing all over the place.
"What the hell is happening?!"
Farhan dashed off without looking back. He lost the two black people as they also ran away.
While he made a little bit of distance from the danger, he actually had the guts to look behind.
It was a scene he would never forget in his life. It was a moment that would be forever engraved in his memories. He turned his head as he ran.
It was pure chaos. Blood flew out everywhere in the surroundings. Pierced bodies laid down on the floor while some were even unrecognizable due to being smashed by the massive bludgeon of the King Greenhorn.
This was the moment Farhan realized that this wasn't a fantasy-like story anymore.
