The memories of everyone resurfaced once more with Lucas mentioning the King Greenhorn.

Its figure was still fresh in their minds as it battered against the barrier outside the mansion just some moments ago.

People were cowering inside the building while they prayed that it wouldn't be able to come inside.

Thankfully after several smashing of the giant, it acknowledged the durability of the barrier and simply went away back into the forest.

"Why are you asking that? Don't tell me that you're gonna try to fight that thing?"

The petite Asian woman asked in disbelief and saw the resolute eyes of Lucas.

"Yes. I need to kill that bastard."

Lucas responded nonchalantly with a nod.

"Impossible! Didn't you see the massive size of that monster? It's literally suicide to even try."

The woman shook her head in response.

"No. It's not a matter of being impossible or not. Remember that we need to get to the fountain. We will all have to face that thing if we want to do that."

The middle-aged Chinese man answered bluntly.

Everyone in the room went quiet when they finally realized the meaning of the guy's words.

"Anyways! The time for me now is 12:32 P.M. It was 9:15 A.M when I first arrived meaning more than three hours has already passed. We have less than twenty-one hours now. We need to plan now."

Farhan broke the silence and checked the time on his phone as he reminded them of the situation.

The other humans brought out their phones as well and saw different hours given that they all resided in various parts of the Earth.

'It should have been 10 P.M. when I went outside. Damn! I should've brought my phone along.'

Lucas thought with a regretful expression.

"Guys, listen. After eighteen hours, all of us will go and run to the fountain. I'm sure everyone's tired."

Kelvin suggested his opinion to the group.

"No! Why does everybody have to go?"

A Japanese man spoke in disapproval.

"Yeah! You shouldn't force us like this."

"Can't we just stay here? Not everyone wants to go. I'm sure the others think so as well."

"Exactly!"

Three humans voiced out as clearly they were too scared to venture outside the mansion.

'Bam!'

"How about this? Those who want to come will gather here after fifteen hours. Others can stay upstairs. There should be no problems now, right?"

Kelvin smashed his pistol on the table and got up from his seat.

The complaining humans were silenced at his words as they slowly went up to the second floor.

'Fifteen hours, huh? That should be plenty enough.'

Lucas agreed to Kelvin's proposition and closed his eyes to get some rest before the final fight.

***

Time flowed like water as the long hours passed by. The humans were grouped up in the reception area of the mansion as they prepared to venture out.

It took them an hour to ready themselves.

At first glance, their numbers seemed to be more than a little bit less than fifty.

'This should be around ninety percent of us.'

Lucas thought when he saw the people who assembled in the lobby.

With serious expressions on their faces, they stared hard at the door looking more prepared than ever even though their bodies were shaking.

No one here knew who will survive after they encounter the abominations outside.

These people didn't want to know what will happen to someone that gets disqualified.

Nevertheless, they all understood deep down that if they want to live, they have to fight.

So, they conquered their fears and gathered their courage to move forward without looking back.

"Is everyone ready?!"

Kelvin shouted and looked back to the crowd.

He saw their resolute expressions and nodded.

"Then, let's go!"

With this sentence as a signal, all of them took a step outside the mansion as they felt their bodies passing through the violet barrier.

The humans marched silently in the direction of the forest. Bloody bodies of humans and monsters littered the ground.

Everyone's expressions were grim as they were reminded of the struggle that occurred.

Some were even crying when they recognized familiar individuals within the corpses.

"Don't falter! We only have less than two hours."

Kelvin exclaimed to the masses when he saw individuals stopping in their tracks.

The humans then reached the woods filled with crimson trees. The unnatural colour of the trees reminded them that this place wasn't their home.

“Everyone. We must stay quiet and cautious from now on as much as possible. Shh...”

James told the people as he gestured a sign.

‘Rustle’

It was not possible to be completely silent when the leaves were being crushed under their foot.

They walked for about thirty minutes and the group was more relaxed now that nothing was happening.

“Phew. So there was no problem after all. At this rate, we will reach the fountain in no time.”

The Korean guy from before spoke in whispers.

Even then, the eyes of the other humans went wide when they saw something behind him.

The guy thought that they were overreacting.

“What the... you guys are too sensitive. Kuhuk!”

A small Greenhorn appeared without notice and gauged out his heart.

‘Thud’

The body of the man fell over as the light of his eyes diminished.

“Everyone, run!

“Iyaaa!”

The humans scrambled left and right in a flash.

Lucas was late to notice the monster as he was on the vanguard of the group.

He only reached the beast when it already attacked the guy in the back and he stabbed forward.

The monster noticed the attack, but couldn’t react to it fast enough.

The sharp wooden stick bore a hole in the forehead of the Greenhorn and died.

“Nooo!”

Another scream was heard from one of the running people. A second Greenhorn appeared in surprise.

Meanwhile, three more monsters showed up in front of the group.

“What the hell?! There’s more of them!”

Kelvin used his gun and shot at the beasts.

‘This isn’t right. Why are they in groups?’

Lucas frowned as he noticed the oddity of the monster's movements.

“Roaaaaaaaaar!”

Suddenly, a familiar cry was heard in the distance.

Everyone was already in disarray about the arrival of the Greenhorns.

Now, all of them were frozen from fear when they heard the roar of the giant green monster.

‘Bang!’

A tree was knocked over as it got smashed by the massive bludgeon of the King Greenhorn.

‘Ahh. This guy was ordering them around like minions. No wonder they were acting like this.’

Lucas connected the dots as he understood the irregular behaviour of the small Greenhorns.

“You’re finally here!”

He wasted no more words other than these and coated his weapon with a violet aura.

When fighting seriously, talking will not be a thing as a person has to fully concentrate on the enemy.

With this in mind, Lucas sprinted toward his current greatest foe to land a preemptive strike.

He didn’t give a span of attention to the other humans scrambling around like rats.

Lucas thought that they would not live long anyway if they were going to get killed by weaklings.

“Run for your lives!”

On the other side, Kelvin shouted to the crowd while killing the small monsters.

Only he and James were capable of fighting back.

The other policeman knew how to use his fists as he exchanged blows even without a weapon.

However, that cannot be said for the rest.

The majority of them ran away without hesitation while some gained the courage to fight back only to be slashed to stabbed to death by the claws.

It was the pitiful struggle of being powerless.

Meanwhile, Lucas reached to the legs of the giant abomination and stabbed using his proper mana.

This was only feasible due to the King Greenhorn not expecting its prey to dash at him.

Consequently, Lucas managed to give a stab to the left leg of the giant monster.

“Roaaar!”

It screamed as it felt the agonizing pain from its lower limb. The beast was forced to kneel.

Lucas was surprised given that he didn’t expect that his attack would deal that much damage.

But, it was only for a brief moment as the boss of the Greenhorns stood up in defiance.

The monster swung the giant bat in its right hand.

‘Crash!’

The tiny human had easily dodged the attack due to the injury dealt slowing its momentum.

Lucas saw this as a chance and made a slashing motion at the right arm of the brute.

He knew that this was risky as his weapon only had a sharp tip and no blade, but he did it nonetheless.

His instinct was telling him to do it. To slash at the enemy. So, he executed his attack hopingly.

‘Slash’

“Guaaaaaa!”

Blood flew out like a fountain. The right arm of the giant monster was separated from its body.

The cut-off member was bleeding profusely as the King Greenhorn held its arm seemingly in pain.

Lucas was now greatly astonished as he never predicted this outcome at all.

He simply followed the call of his thoughts. The man only realized now the severity of using mana.

There was no other explanation other than the violet aura coating his flimsy wooden stick.

With this in mind, Lucas gained more fighting spirit in his battle against this monstrosity.

Although, the monster was angrier than ever. It felt boundless rage toward this small creature.

‘Bang!’

It stomped its right leg and used the claws on its left arm to slash the human to death.

Lucas tried to evade, but this managed to graze the sides of his body.

He dashed to the leg of the beast and slashed once again.

‘Thud!’

“Roaaar!”

The King Greenhorn was forced to kneel in suffering because of the rapid loss of its limbs.

It couldn’t get up fast enough due to the current imbalanced sensation of its body.

Lucas attacked for the last time with him making another slashing motion to the neck.

‘Slash’

His weapon sliced the skin as if it was tofu.

The King Greenhorn was decapitated clean.

Its bloody head stayed on the ground as the monster’s eyes were filled with terror.

‘I probably looked like that when I died.’

Lucas was panting as he remembered the moment his body got pulverized to a pulp by this monster.

Now, he successfully took his revenge.

An earth-coloured Loop levitated atop its corpse.

“Oh! I almost forgot. Is this a new one? ”

He took the Loop with a brown aura and put it up to his left wrist as it got absorbed by his Loop.

“By the way, where are the others?”

The humans were gone with the silence being the only thing present to celebrate his success.
