“Seria, it was nice knowing you.”
“Huh? Wait… you’re going to fight it ri—“
With a decent portion of my strength, I chucked the young girl over toward the mysterious monster that was making its way over to us. With no information or weapons, I couldn’t trust that I’d be able to defeat it. Thus, the best strategy was to flee.
Well, every person for themselves, am I right?
“Ahh! Rin, you fucking meanie! How could you throw a helpless maiden to a monster?!”
“Sorry, my hand slipped.”
With that, I turned and prepared to run. However, to my surprise, Seria wasn’t being viciously mauled by the monster. I decided to turn my head and see what was happening. Seria was frozen stiff as she looked up at the big hairy animal. It looked like something of a mix between a wombat and a horse… if I was to describe it.
After smelling her for a little while, the creature turned around and headed back into the forest. Well, thankfully, she’s all right, I guess.
I made my way over to her.
“Well, it sure is good that you’re okay,” I said.
Silently, Seria stood up. With a dark glare in her eyes, she stared me down.
“Rin… you piece of shit…”
“Oh, I’m sorry about before.”
“Ah, You’re sorry, are ya? Well, that’s perfectly fine then. I’m not mad at all~”
“Really?”
“No.”
I felt a sharp pain in my stomach. Seria’s foot dug itself into my shirt, crushing any vital organs in the way. Well, at least that was how it felt. Thankfully, I’ve got a pretty high pain tolerance, so I didn’t cry out. I couldn’t help myself from falling to the ground, though.
Seria started crying.
“You’re the worst! I was so scared! I thought it was going to eat me!”
“Well, I wouldn’t have done it if I knew the monster was docile.”
“That doesn’t make it any better, you idiot!”
Smacking me with the side of her fists, she let out all of her anger.
After a little while, she finally calmed down. As the two of us took a breather, we decided to head back over to the area where I had planted my beans. There were still plenty of hours left to wait, so once again, I decided to lie down. I hoped that I’d be able to get a longer break than last time.
“You’re so lazy! Can’t you at least collect some resources? Are you going to just lie down here all day?” Seria complained.
“Me? Why don’t you go do something useful? I’ve got a lethargy debuff meaning that I’m more tired than usual. You’re smart, aren’t you? Go to the forest and collect some stuff.”

“On your human stat sheet, it said you had maximum intelligence and maximum athletic ability. I’m not seeing any of that! I’ve been cheated. I’ve been catfished!”
“You were complaining about me before! You were the one who wanted to trade me for a cute-looking girl! Now I’m going to rest until the beans grow up, got it?”
“Grr! Fine, then I’ll have a rest as well.”
She suddenly lay down right beside me, holding onto the back of my shirt. I could smell her overly-intense citrusy aroma as her hair was strewn out along the ground.
“Why are you holding onto me?” I asked.
“If I don’t grab onto you, you’ll use me as bait the next time a monster comes!”
“I won’t do that, okay? You don’t have to stay so close.”
“N-no… it’s scary here… okay?”
With such a sorrowful expression on her face, I decided to just let it go. It didn’t really disrupt my sleeping anyways so it didn’t matter that much. The ground wasn’t all that comfortable, but it was good enough for me to get some sleep.

I managed to get a decent amount of rest. Based on what I could see from the sky, it looked like it was nearing morning. The sun was slightly past the horizon but not enough to completely illuminate the plains. The sky was a smudge of orange, purple and pink.
I guess it was bright enough for me to check how the plants were. Seria was still fast asleep, with her cheeks resting on her hands. Now that I look at her, she is much less annoying now that she’s asleep. I could see how she was a goddess.
Looking over at my plants, it seemed that they had grown up completely. With long stalks and beans hanging from their ?branches? I assumed that I could harvest them.
Plucking the beans from the plants, a notification appeared in front of me.

With thirty beans in total, three from each plant, they were completely harvested. Alright, I assumed that there was going to be a message from my class. Any moment now. What’s my next mission? …
Come on…
For some reason, nothing was app—
[You have unlocked the FARMER SHOP!]
I guess it won’t be content unless it interrupts me in my internal monologue. On the bright side, I was interested to see how this shop worked. Hopefully, I’d be able to expand my ‘farm’ of sorts. Considering the nature of all of my debuffs, this was the only way I was going to be able to do so.
