Life was really strange. You would make many plans and hope everything goes well but most of the time nothing goes as you planned. As Kaan watched the dust cloud, he remembered how much he hated this fact. He hated it before and he hated it now.

Kaan was thinking about what he should do. He didn't know what condition Thar and Dean were in and Emily was already too exhausted because of using her power excessively.

Kaan just smiled as he came to realisation and stopped thinking, just jumped down to the first floor.

He had to do it, there was no other way. There was no one else who was in the condition of fighting.

When he was on the first floor, he looked at the werewolf; half of its body was under the rocks. it was saving itself with its other hand by throwing the rocks away and it already had thrown most of the remains.

Kaan also gave a quick look at both Dean and Thar and saw them also under remains as they tried to free themselves but they were not looking in the condition that they could fight or were faster than the werewolf.

Kaan held the sword in front of him. He was scared, angry, unstable, and a mess, but he just focused on the sword and took a deep breath.

He once again felt the chilling touch on his soul as he headed towards the body of the werewolf, trying to stop him not physically but mentally but he just smiled wider as he tried to forget it. There was no time to think and no reason to do it.

'I just need to cut it.'

He really just needed to cut it. Werewolf's neck was already cut more than halfway, He knew he can accomplish it in a good cut and it was the perfect opportunity.

When he reached the werewolf, he aimed his neck. He didn't shout, didn't make any noise just smiled. He saw the claw of it heading to his chest. He slightly turned its way but still made sure he was able to hit with everything he had even if it means he will receive the damage. Why? Because if he just dodged it, it wouldn't make a difference because he would need to attack once again and it can even give the werewolf the opportunity to save itself and if it did they would all die.

He thought it would be nice if something helped him, maybe the system maybe the stupid 'higher being' but he knew nothing like this would happen at least it would come for free and he didn't want to be connected to them.

He felt the chilling touch once more, he felt the death and got ready to receive the damage but he didn't advance and his word met with the werewolf's neck; Kaan continue to cut it until the werewolf's head totally the claw never reached him because one of the big rocks hit it and stopped it from reaching Kaan.

'Level up!'

With the werewolf's head falling to the ground the system notification ringed his head.

Kaan averted his eyes from the headless werewolf and looked at the collapsed ceiling and saw Emily reaching her hand towards his side as the blood came out of her eyes.

As he was looking at the ceiling he felt the chilling touch finally leaving his body.

'It seems I'll let all of you go… for this time.'

The embodied emotionless voice once again smiled bitterly at its words.

'You'll let us go? We survive because of our effort and sacrifices not because you wanted. You damned…!'

Kaan was thinking for a while about whom that sound belonged. Actually, he knew it; it was obviously Death. It followed him to his real body but also it was hard to believe it. It made him realize he really changed the fate of everyone.

Now the only thing making his mind busy was which 'Death' it was. Every culture and religion had a different 'Death' so he wasn't sure. He only knew he was angry about how these 'higher entities' were meddling in his life. The first one was not very bright but arrogant and now the 'Death'? Everything was becoming more complicated.

While he was in his thoughts he turned back to the headless werewolf instinctively with his sword ready to block when he heard a voice. He saw nothing move at all but he felt unsure and raised it sword.

'What if cutting his head was not enough?'

When he thought this the sword in his hand started to move without his permission. It hit the arm that tried to pierce the chest and then one more and more.

He felt the tears dripping down his face like everything poured out.

In just four to three hours everything changed drastically for everyone.

In every hit, he let go of the feelings that he was holding in.

He let go of his anger for himself for not being able to save one of the few people he considered a friend before this madness started.

He let go of the anguish he felt from killing people.

He let go of the desperation of seeing everyone dying at the hands of the werewolf and the desperation of experiencing his own death even if it was in a vision.

He shouted in frustration knowing that he would never be able to let go of these as he tore apart the arm of the werewolf.

He looked at the werewolf's tore body as he once again lifted his sword but Thar stopped him by holding his arm.

Kaan looked at the Thar who was in mess; His clothes were ripped, his hair was messy, there were various injuries in his body and the injured in his shoulder was once again painted new cloth in blood. He looked at Kaan with a grim face.

"It's over Kaan, we survived. Come on, let it go…"

Kaan slowly put down the sword, he didn't try to hide his messy state, he couldn't even if he wanted.

He saw the Dean looking at him with a sad and understanding face as he watched them from a little bit away standing up. Kaan could see he also shed tears but when Kaan looked at him he just turned his head like he didn't want to be seen. He was also in a bad state, he had fallen badly and hurt his ankle and now was limping.

Thar got under his arm as they began to walk towards Dean. Thar looked like he wanted to support Kaan but in the end, it was Kaan who supported him because Thar was already exhausted from using his ability of his over its limits and was standing barely.

"Are all of you okay?"

Emily said, opening her bloody eyes as the pain slowly subside and looked at the first floor.

"Are you Okay?"

Thar reverted the question back with a bitter smile as he looked at Emily's face.

Emily didn't answer and just looked at all of them and saw there was nothing too serious she sighed in relief and began to wipe the blood out of her face.

"Will you be able to walk?"

Kaan asked Dean when they came next to him.

"Yeah, it's not that bad to worry about it."

He said reassuring them it was fine but Kaan was able to it was a big lie when they walked to the stair he groaned silently with every step he took on his left leg.

'As long as it's not broken we can handle it. This guy's seriously an unlucky bastard.'

Actually, rather than Dean being unlucky he was thinking that Thar was lucky for taking the fall without anything serious.

When they reached the staircase they saw many zombies killed around there. It looked like the werewolf was killing whatever came into its range, well it was better for them because they were not in a situation where they would prefer dealing with zombies.

When they reached Kaan saw Emily sitting on the ground her back to the wall, drinking water. She had already washed her face. Kaan helped Thar and left him next to Emily; Emily reached him and helped him to sit down next to her. After that Kaan headed to the opposite wall and together with Dean they sat down.

Everyone need time to catch their breath so they decided to rest there for a while.

'I will not let the system take any of us. I will not die nor the people around me will. I will stop it even if it means I have to experience death once again.'

Kaan thought as he looked at everybody. He need something to hold on and he created his own resolve. He would not let the gods or 'higher beings' or whatever they are, touch him or anyone near him. And he was damn sure they will intervene in this world more in the near future because the system would never let them have it easy if it is really the system of survival.

'I'll need to get stronger, I need to make them stronger and I will.'

He clenched his fist and looked at everybody's bad state as he decided which path he need to follow.
