How am I supposed to eat with this thing on?!" I demanded after we had pulled up to Listen Lite, a high-class restaurant that had a nightclub attached to it.

Chloe had found it after we stopped to get our phones. I had thought that it was funny because the phones were on a contract for five years, but it wasn't like I could take the phone with me anyways. It probably wouldn't even work in the Heavenly Realm anyways.

I bribed the host to get us a seat after being refused at first, but we were able to get in, and we were sat at an open table in the middle of the restaurant. I had hoped to get a booth that was more secluded, but we were already lucky to get in.

"You're not going to take it off, are you?" Chloe asked with a pout as she looked at me from across the table.

"No," I said as I shook my head. "I don't want to risk anyone seeing my face."

Chloe sighed as she leaned back in her chair and waved over to the waiter, who quickly came over. "We will each have the lobster tail with mashed potatoes and steamed vegetables."

He wrote it down before he bowed slightly and walked away from us.

We were both silent for a few moments after he left before Chloe finally decided to break it. As she looked at me with an amused expression on her face. "So, what do you think of our first date so far?"

I chuckled softly before leaning forward and taking her hand in mine, rubbing soft circles on the back of it with my thumb. "It's been interesting, to say the least."

The waiter came back then with our food and drinks, but another couple was ushered to the table beside us, and I stopped breathing.

"Here is your reserved table, Mr. Mentura, and Miss Galdia," The waiter said as Ace Mentura, my target, sat down not even four feet from where I was sitting. I didn't know the woman, but after seeing Chloe look at her with raised eyebrows, I knew that she had to be important.

"You are Grace Galdia, right?" Chloe asked as I turned from them and tried to take a drink of water, and the bottom of the mask disappeared, thankfully, but I nearly spit my water out. What was this woman thinking talking to them?!

"Umm, Yes. Who might you be? And do you always talk to strangers when you come to this restaurant?" Grace asked with a bit of a haughty air to her voice.

"Grace, come now. There is no reason to be hostile. Anyone that comes here must already be in their late 150's, right?" Ace asked and then turned to look directly at me. "Right? You look pretty powerful, but I can't say that I have ever seen someone wear a mask in a place like this. There also is something familiar about you..."

"This is Mad Max! And I am his partner, Chloe! Mad Max is only level thirty-eight, and I am level five! As for his mask, a crazy person screwed up his face really badly a long time ago, but it healed pretty badly! I still love him, but it scares most people!" Chloe said, missing a beat, and I internally sighed, but this woman was pushing this too far!

Ace looked at Chloe with clear disbelief before looking back over to me. "Thirty-eight?! And you have such a strong presence! Even more than Goria, who is level one hundred and fifty!"

"I told you already! The mask hides his real identity because he was experimented on by a mad doctor as a kid, but he escaped and has been on the run ever since!" Chloe gushed as she leaned closer to Grace, who looked just as disbelieving. "And we are here for our first date night out in forever! What better place to do it than in the city that we love so much?"

I sighed internally again before downing my water, thankful for the break of attention, even if it was only temporary. If this kept up, though, they were going to get too suspicious, and I didn't need that kind of attention when trying to assassinate someone. The very someone that was sitting feet from me.

I got brief flashbacks to when I had tried to kill Ace with a rock, but he had ended up killing me first. I reached into my pocket, and my hands closed around my Chaos Trigger, but Chloe grabbed my knee and gave me a sharp but brief look. I breathed out quietly and took my hand back out of my pocket.

"How long have the two of you been in the city?" Ace asked, and Chloe put up three fingers, making ace choke on his water, and then snapped his head to me. "How did you level so fast? Do you have a team?! Even when I met Grace, after someone tried to kill me, it took me a month just to get to fifty!"

Something about what he said made me look at Grace. I had been trying to ignore both of them this entire time, but as Ace spoke, I felt something come from her. It was a feeling that I had been very familiar with. Dread, which meant that danger was close, but it was coming from Grace, and nothing happened.

"Mad Max has been working in dungeons lately outside of the city, so we have been very lucky with him finding special loot in them," Chloe explained, and Ace sat back with an impressed look.

"That is truly impressive. I don't go very often with my part because most of them are dangerous, and some of them are even broken, where the monsters can get out while you are in. I heard someone finishing a dungeon, thinking it was over, only to have the real dungeon boss kill him as soon as he left," Ace said, and I laughed.
