"Ah! You're finally awake!" she exclaimed as she turned around to face me with a wide smile on her face, and I frowned deeply.
What the fuck is going on?
"Who are you?" I asked as I rubbed my head, a headache coming on.
"Oh! I'm sorry! My name is Chloe, and I will be your guide in this new world!" she said as she extended her hand towards me, and I looked at it warily for a moment before shaking it.
"What world?" I asked cautiously as I looked around the train car we were in. It was very spacious with big fluffy chairs and couches placed around the room. There was even a small kitchen off to the side!
"The first world of course!" She exclaimed as if it should have been obvious, but I still had no clue what was going on.
I sighed deeply as I rubbed my temples tiredly before looking back up at her. "Look, can you just start from the beginning? You are losing me here."
Chloe nodded her head eagerly before scooting closer to me on the couch so that she could explain everything better. "Of course! So as I said before, my name is Chloe, and I am your guide in this world. The first thing you need to know is that this world runs off of a currency called mana. You will use mana for everything from buying food, to upgrading your weapons and armor, to even learning new skills! It is very important, so you will need to make sure that you are always stocking up on it."
I nodded my head slightly as I took in her information. So far so good, but I still had no clue what was going on. "So where does one get mana?"
"Well, there are many ways," she said before pausing for a moment as if she was trying to decide where to start. "The most common way is by defeating monsters."
"Monsters? Of course there are fucking monsters," I muttered under my breath before sighing deeply. This whole situation just kept getting better and better.
"Yes! Defeating monsters is the most common way to gain experience points which in turn allows you to raise your level!" She exclaimed excitedly before scooting even closer so that she could explain further, and I tried not to lean away from her too much since it would be rude. "You see when people defeat monsters they don't only gain experience points but also items like weapons or armor drop as well!"
I frowned deeply as I crossed my arms over my chest while leaning back into the couch. This was not what I had signed up for! I was here to merc a bitch and get off world before someone tried to do the same to me!
"What does this have to do with the person that I need to kill?" I asked, and the girl paused, and nodded.
"You need to get to a high enough level to kill them," Chloe explained, and I narrowed my eyes.
"This person is in a world like this and they are getting sent to another? This sounds like a world that you would get reborn to, right?" I asked, and Chloe nodded with a bright smile.
"Exactly! Now, you seem like a smart person so I think you will be able to figure out the rest on your own," she said before standing up from the couch. "I need to get going now, but I will see you soon!"

With that, she walked towards the door of the train car before disappearing into thin air. Typical damn assistance! This was going to be a long day, I was almost certain.
Because that really explained anything. And now she is gone. I needed a drink and my head still hurt.
I had no clue who I was to kill, no weapons, nor anything in my pockets. I thought I was supposed to be given whatever weapon that I needed? Looks like I had just been hoodwinked, and now I was left to figure out this on my own.
I turned and looked out the window of the train, and the rainbows suddenly became an open vista and there was a beautiful city outside like nothing that I had ever seen. It looked like a city out of a postcard with its tall spires and golden streets. I'm not one for pretty things, but even I had to admit that it was breathtaking.
If there was no target, then maybe I could just get away with living a meager life, or whatever! I was in a new world! I could do whatever I wanted!
But I was sure that was not going to be the case. The contract said that I was required to fulfill my mark or I lost my soul.
I sighed deeply as the train started to slow down before coming to a stop in front of what looked like a very large and ornate station. There were people milling about everywhere, and the air was thick with excitement.
"All passengers please disembark at this time," A loud voice echoed through the train car, and I slowly stood up from my seat before making my way towards the door.
I stepped off of the train onto the busy platform, and I was instantly bombarded with people. Some were trying to sell me things, others were asking for money, and still more were just begging for food. It was chaos, and I quickly started to make my way through the crowd towards the exit.
I needed to find a place to stay, and then figure out what the hell I was supposed to do next. This whole situation was fucked up beyond belief, but somehow I had a feeling that it was only going to get worse from here on out.
“Aye! Funny looking guy! I got a lock on some monsters! You in?” A voice called out, cutting through the brabble.
I looked over and there was a guy with dark skin and long dreads pulled back. The rabble was staying away from him.
Again, I wasn’t left with much choice, and he looked familiar with the city.
“Yup! I am coming with you!” I called as I shoved people, but the sign above fell. I narrowly dodged it, and the rabble screamed, pulling back and clearing from me.
Looks like my luck was still in the negative, but now I was going to go looking for trouble. This was surely going to go over well.
