Chapter 6: CH 6

"Ahh......fuccck" he shouted as the ice spear penetrated his shoulder.

 

The pain was intense but it was still not comparable to the pain he felt when he grabbed the ruby rod.

 

Jun grabbed the ice spear and melted it with his hell fire. He did the same to the ice that jammed his legs to the ground.

 

It took him some seconds to melt the ice but it was enough for the mistress to recover in that time.

 

She was standing right in front of Jun with an annoyed expression. She decided to unleash all her power. Terrifying shockwaves were released, and slowly, the ice started growing everywhere and, in a few moments, the whole room was covered with it.

 

Her whole skin became pale as a ghost, she seemed almost lifeless. Her hazel green eyes turned to pure blue like the sky and her hair, eyebrows, and eyelashes also became white.

 

"What the hell is this?" Jun thought to himself. He was shocked to see how good control she had over the ice element.

 

Jun felt a little tingling on his shoulder. When he looked over his shoulder, he was stunned to see the wound healing on its own.

 

"Just as I thought, you are not as simple as you look. Even though your mana heart is damaged you can somehow use magic but the most shocking part is that fire. That fire did not extinguish even in water. Plus, you can regenerate too. Either you are using an artifact or you are not human and if it's the latter in your case then I have no choice but to kill you."

 

"I don't know you and I have no idea why you are doing this but let me warn you, if you continue this, I will have no choice but to fight and kill you." Jun took a fighting stance and provoked her to attack first.

 

"You don't know when to shut that mouth of yours." Jun's provocation was working well, she was getting annoyed by Jun's trash talk.

 

The mistress launched forward. For a moment Jun panicked but then quickly calmed himself. Prepared to face her attack, he skip-phased to his right. He thought he successfully evaded her attack but, in an instant, he saw that he jumped in the path of the ice spear she launched as her sneak attack.

 

''Damn my stupidity! I should have known the first attack was just a diversion. I've no time to block this.''

 

He wanted to use his hell fire but his reactions were a little late compared to her ice spear.

 

He had no time left to dodge that so he clenched his teeth and prepared himself to bear the incoming pain.

 

"Looks like provoking her was not a good idea" Jun cursed himself. Jun started running in the opposite direction creating distance between himself and the mistress.

 

"That's the wrong choice you made there. You should never try to fight a mage at a long distance." She mocked him openly.

 

She closed her eyes and started chanting some spells. Jun decided to attack her by taking advantage of the situation but the ice spears were constantly attacking him, not giving him space to close the gap between them.

 

"Come to me Liyue." As soon as she said those words a beautiful bow with a majestic aura appeared in her hand.

 

The bow has made from crystal clear ice with a tint of pale blue colour. Its upper and lower limbs had shapes similar to Pegasus wings while the limbs notches had a piece of silk tied to them.

She pointed her bow at the ceiling and pulled its string. She concentrated her mana and an arrow made of pure ice manifested between the bow and the string.

 

She chanted a spell and released her arrow. The arrow hit the ceiling and a large number of ice spikes were created on the ceiling.

 

Ice spikes quickly rained down from the ceiling one after the other. A speed race of survival was taking place between Jun and the ice spikes.

 

His hellfire was limited up to his fist. To make the flame bigger he needed more power but for some reason, he couldn't gather any more than that.

 

Jun was running out of steam. His muscles were sore from the continuous bursts and his mind was losing focus. His body temperature was dropping only the area near his fist were warm.

 

To make things worse, the closer he got to her, the more accurate her control over the ice got, making it impossible for Jun to dodge all the incoming attacks. He could only deflect those aimed at his vitals and tank the others.

 

"I'll die at this rate; I need to break the ice covering of the whole room then only I will be able to do something." Jun thought.

 

He quickly ran toward the broken pod.

 

Seeing him run, she thought he had given up on fight and has decided to save himself but it took only a couple of seconds for her to realize his true intentions.

 

“Crazy!!.......... Stop you psycho. You’ll kill yourself too……” she shouted like a maniac.

 

It was too late, what Jun was about to do was suicidal but his only chance to defeat her.

 

There was no time for her to stop as Jun was already very close to the pod and her speciality was not speed so she knew even if she tried to rush towards Jun to stop him, she’ll only waste her time and endanger her life.

 

“Damn it” she jumped back and infused her body with ice magic. She used all her remaining mana to create her ultimate defence.

 

“Spirit of ice and snow, heed my call. By the breath of winter scourge freeze this whole world and make eternity to a slumber worse than hell, ABSOLUTE FREEZING.”

 

Every liquid substance from sweat to water particle present in the air started to freeze and formed a huge wall of ice around the mistress.

 

As soon as Jun reached the pod, with one last burst of his hellfire he punched the tank beside the pod with all his might.

 

BOOM........
