After entering the gates, I faced the stone steps leading up towards the main building of the campus.
While exhaling I made my way up the steps one leg at a time.
Every step I took felt like me walking on the path to my lost child hood. More like the path to my own true self.
Then again the only person I was fooling was myself. I wasn't sure what was my own true self and I definitely wasn't sure about what my lost child hood would have been like.
Maybe it was supposed to be filled with love and affection from my biological parents. If I did receive that when I was younger I would be able to properly accept other people's affections or kindness without thinking that there was an ulterior motive behind it.
You could say that my parents left a permanent scar on my psyche.
As I reached the top of the stairs, I fixed my uniform with consisted of a white shirt, light purple tie and black pants.
I admit the uniform felt a little underwhelming for a school that is so highly regarded but the uniform is the uniform and there wasn't any changing it.
It was around 8:30am so the entrance ceremony for the new year ones was currently ongoing and I had no intention of attending it.
Mainly because I had to check in with the principal of the school.
I wandered a bit around the campus before I realized that I was lost.
Sigh, now I am about to do something that pains me and that thing is called asking for help.
I swallowed my massive pride and asked this random girl who just happened to be passing by.
She was pretty cute, with a slender figure, around 5'4, long dark peach hair and black eyes with fair skin.
I could safely say that she looked like the type of woman that I would date.
"Um hey, can you point me to the direction of the principal's office?"
She paused for a bit and said "Just continue this way then make a right"
I thanked her and followed her directions.
After a bit, I found myself face to face with the secretary.
A young woman in her mid twenties. I can safely say it was a refresher from the mature woman you would normally see.

"Is Mr Akira in?"
"Yes he just returned from addressing the school so give him a few seconds" she replied in a cheerful yet professional manner then picked up the telephone that was next to her.
While waiting, I flipped through the magazines that were left out for guests to read while they waited.

The magazines were very outdated out with some of them being almost 10 years old.
"You may now enter" she said, breaking my concentration from the magazines.
After thanking her, I entered the office.
The office was spacious. It was befitting of a principal of the institute.
It even had an aquarium with different colored fishes in there. Well at least I know the funding isn't being embezzled by the school now.
A man in his mid forty's sat behind an oak wood desk and welcomed me.
His name was Yagi Akira. A well distinguished man who was the principal of several schools before he settled here permanently.
"So you must be Dante Kaneko?" He asked with a warm smile.
"Yes"
I just wanted to keep the conversation brief.
He seemed like a good person but deep down I knew people had a nasty side. Then again maybe I was just describing myself.
"Your father and I go way back and from what I know he is a stand up man. I hope to see that in you despite not being blood.
"Seeing it in person would be better than me telling you isn't that correct?"
Mr Akira laughed then replied to my statement
"I love forward to it, when your parents applied for you to enroll here, the entrance exams already concluded so as a favor I squeezed you in. I expect you to make great use of this opportunity"
Honestly I just wanted to attend a regular high school but my parents insisted that I attended here instead so I figured that I would treat it as such.
"I am very thankful for this chance and I promise that I will use this to better myself"
Better myself? What kind of corny sentence is that? Sigh it was the only thing I could think of that went with the flow of the conversation.
Mr. Akira then handed me a large white envelop to pass along with to my home room instructor.
"Mr Kaneko your assigned class room is 1-4 and please have a wonderful three years experience in this gracious institute"
I felt a chill up my spine when I heard those words.
A conversation spoken before a masked killer shows up or something. Well according to all the slasher films I enjoyed watching so much.
I just shook off the weird feelings and exited the office.
