*Ding*

My dormitory's elevator door opened and I walked inside.

The door closed. Hitting the 5th floor button now. I turned around and looked at my reflection in the reflective glass of the surrounding walls.

I was dressed in my school pants and a white t-shirt. I took my school shirt off earlier to avoid walking around with blood on it.

Maybe I should have gone a lot easier on him. Then again, I was taught that if you're the first to strike, then make sure you're the last one standing. Unfortunately, things didn't go that way for him.

I looked at my middle finger on my right hand. It was starting to swell.

Damn My finger was fractured by Genji's hard face. Sigh, this is going to be a pain to deal with.

I was finally on my floor, and I stepped out of the elevator.

Waddling to my door now, I was exhausted from the long day I just experienced. I pulled my school ID out of my pocket. I passed it over the scanner.

*Beep*

*Click*

My door opened, and as soon as I turned the door handle, my neighbor opened their door.

She really has the worst timing.

"Well, you look like you just wrestled a bear."

I turned to my left and looked at Minori with a deadpan expression on my face.

"Yes, I went back into the forest where we had the class clash and challenged a bear to a honey-eating contest. To my surprise, I won, but the bear didn't take that too lightly, so he suggested that we wrestle for the win. As you can see, this was the end result, and the sky is blue."

After saying that ridiculous statement, I quickly slipped inside my dorm room while she was a bit confused.

The only thing she uttered was "Huh?"

I closed the door behind me and flung myself onto my bed.

I was looking up at the ceiling and said to myself, "Wow, I just had my first school fight. Isn't that grand?"

I debated on if I should shower or not because my body was just so tired. Finally, I decided that I would.

I spent eleven minutes in the shower. I walked out with my jet black hair dripping with water. I took one of my white towels, wrapped my hair in it, and sat down on my bed. I have been told that wrapping wet hair in a towel may actually damage it, but I just didn't have the willpower to find a cotton t-shirt.

Ping* Ping* Ping*

There were several notifications on my phone. The majority of them are from our class's group chat, and there was this text with an attachment from an unknown number.

Heh? How did somebody get my number? Wait, this may be somebody sending a text to the wrong person, i.e., my number.

Still, I curiously opened the message and clicked on the attachment.

There was a brief look of confusion on my face.

It was a video of my fight with Genji, but it looked like the person heavily zoomed in on the incident. So I could tell that whoever it was, actually stood quite a distance away, so I wouldn't notice them.
On the bright side, the people in the video couldn't be easily identified, so I had that working in my favor.

Still, there were so many thoughts running through my head at the same time.

Wait, did Genji set me up?

Who the hell is this?

Wow, who knew the fight looked so one-sided?

Is this person about to blackmail me?

AHHHH. It's just one thing after the next. I know it's still the beginning of November, but I need a vacation from everything.

I elected not to reply to the text message. Whoever it was would have to physically contact me. In the meantime, I'll have to brace myself for whatever comes out of this.

I looked at my phone one more time before tossing it to the side.

The time is 8 p.m.

Yeah, I should probably get some sleep because our penalty exam is tomorrow morning at 9 am.

Before that, I needed to ice my finger and head to the nurse's office before I made my way to class. Hopefully, this trip doesn't cut into my exam time.

-----------------------------------------------------------------Minori Takeda's POV ----------------------------------------------------------------------

It's 9 a.m. and the penalty exam is about to commence.

To my surprise, Dante isn't in his seat. Is he about to skip the examination?

As I looked around at the students in my classroom, the majority of them look confident enough.

Genji had a few bruises on his face, which he said he got from falling down the stairs of his dormitory.

Kaori seemed like her usual self. Just quiet and out of everybody's way.

Yogi just finished addressing the class and telling us to try our hardest.

Sena was actually playing sudoku while waiting for Miss Aiko to make her appearance.

The door opened and everyone turned towards it, expecting to see our teacher.

It was Dante, strolling in at 9:07am. Typical lateness. He may even be late for his own funeral one day.

I closely looked at him and observed his right hand. His middle finger was in a navy blue cast.

Yogi noticed it as well.

"That looks painful, Dante."

He cheerfully waved his hand and said, "I apparently lost a battle against a door in my dorm room."

Dante took his seat, then placed his writing materials on the desk.

His dominant hand is the right one. That is the same one with the cast on it, so I wondered how he would fair in this written exam.

He must have noticed me observing him without even looking in my direction.

He said, "Unfortunately, this isn't the type of cast you can sign, Minori, so I'm sorry to burst your bubble."

I turned my head to the front of the class and replied, "Must you get on my nerves this early in the morning?"

He kept quiet.

Miss Aiko finally walked into the class at 9:09 am.

"Sorry about that class, but I had to get some last minute confirmations."

She then took the exam papers from the packet and passed them along to every student.

Everyone received their very own paper.

She spoke again. "You know, the traditional rules of an examination. No talking. No cheating, no use of cellphones, etc. You're big kids, so I would expect you to use your common sense and avoid getting kicked out of the examination. Another condition of the exam is that your results will be unknown to you when you take the midterms. So best of luck and begin."

The entire class became quiet when they heard that final, unknown exam stipulation.

That means the student who places last in this exam will not be aware of their predicament going into the mid-term examination, which makes it easier for him/her to fail when the 20% penalty is applied and then be expelled.

I carefully went through the 4-page exam.

It was 25 marks for each paper. After reading through the exam for any errors, I found none, so I began the examination.
