Chapter 4: Village

[Deoxys POV]

I stared at the two people in front of me. I still can't take in their animalistic features. Their tails and ears don't seem artificial but look very life-like. I then paid attention to the fallen man, barely hanging on with an inch of his life.

I slowly levitated towards him and held out my palm.

*Dink*

Something hit me on the side of my head. I turned around and saw the young woman holding her bow with shaky arms. Her breath was raspy with terror as she started to hyperventilate.

'Why was she so scared?' I asked Mew.

'You still have your Pressure ability on full blast at the moment.' Mew explained.

I switched it off, and the woman seemed to be able to breathe again. However, she still glared at me fiercely as the woman notched another arrow: "Stay away from my brother!" She screamed.

I ignored her warning, and she fired her arrow, it struck me on the chest, but the projectile bounced off my body. I glanced at the dying man as a small surge of pink gleam appeared in my hand.

I cast Heal Pulse on him as the fatal wound on his chest began to heal rapidly. Mew left my core and observed the healing: "You did pretty well for your first Heal Pulse." Mew commented with an impressed tone.

'I stayed with a group of Chanseys for some time, and they taught me the theory behind the move.' I answered.

The female gasped as she dropped her weapon and urgently ran to the man: "E...Erika?" The man called out as he slowly opened his eyes.

The woman cried with relief as she hugged him so tight that he would die of suffocation: 'Do I need to say something?'

Mew shrugged: "Maybe just wait until they're done?"

[3rd POV]

Deoxys watched in silence as Erika finally calmed down. Eventually, Jyn tapped her on the back and pointed at me, and she instantly let go and wiped her tears face turned red with embarrassment.

"Thank... thank you... um, what do we call you?" Erika asked.

'I'm Deoxys....'

Jyn and Erika eye's widened when they heard a voice speaking clearly in their minds. It sounded distorted with a slight echo giving it a mysterious feeling. However, the tone's also gentle and soft, which makes them feel relaxed.

The two were still shocked by Deoxys telepathy as it hovered around them: "No offence, but what are you?" Jyn asked.

'I'm a Pokemon.' Deoxys responded as Jyn and Erika gave Deoxys a confused gaze.

Jyn and Erika had never heard of Pokemon before as Deoxys hovered around them: 'So what are you?' Deoxys raised a question of its own.

Erika and Jyn were even more perplexed: "My name is Jyn, and she's Erika. We're Demi-human, specifically from the panther bloodline. Have you seen a Demi-human before?"

Deoxys shook its head. The alien reached out as it poked their ears and tugged their tails with fascination. Jyn and Erika couldn't do anything; what could they do even if they wanted to? They don't want to offend this strange being that annihilated orcs like it was nothing.

Deoxys then starts questioning the monsters it fought, and Jyn explains that they're called orcs. "They're mindless, feral monsters that ruin people's lives...." He muttered with hatred.

[Deoxys POV]

Sensing Jyn's anger at the topic, I decided not to pry further but instead research it in my own time.

'Where are we?' I asked, hoping that they could give me some direction.

This time it was Erika that answered: "We're in the Forest of Terra, it comes from the name of the Earth Dragon that perished here, and his mana fertilised the land, causing this increase in the growth of plant life. Unfortunately, this also boosted the strength of the residents tremendously, so it's a hazardous area."

'Then why are you two here?'

Both Demi-humans grimaced as they told me their village was raided by the monsters in this forest not so long ago. Many people were hurt, and they were running out of supplies. Out of desperation, Jyn and Erika choose to explore the woods and scavenge for food to support their people. That's when they met up with a group of orcs, which ultimately ended up with me saving them.

Hearing that there's a village, my interest flared up: 'May I come back to the village with you?'

I could tell Jyn and Erika were stunned by my request as they were hesitant: 'I have food, and you can share it with your people....' I persuaded them and took out piles of berries I had collected back on my adventures in my storage space.

Jyn and Erika's mood changed as they gathered around the berries: "So many! There's Oran Berry, Sitro Berry and even Custap Berries!" Erika exclaimed with excitement.

'You know these?'

They nodded: "Oran berries and Sitro berries were relatively common, but these Custap Berries are super rare!" Jyn said.

That's when I recall Arceus saying something about the Goddess of this world has already been preparing for the arrival of Pokemon...

'Will this help?'

"Yes! These berries will be more than enough!" They responded happily and without any more questions. Erika and Jyn guided me to the village.

We made some small talk on the way, and I learned more about the two Demi-humans. Erika and Jyn were siblings, as their parents died when they were very young. The villagers then took care of them together, and I could tell they were very loyal to their village as the two would do anything to make it prosper.

The number of trees in our surroundings starts to decrease, indicating that we're exiting the forest. After ten more minutes of travelling, we left Terra Forest and saws rows of houses in the distance.

Jyn and Erika began running towards the village, and I decided to lift them up with Psychic. The two were extremely surprised, and they looked at me with admiration,I nodded, and we flew for the rest of the journey.

As I got closer to the small town, I noticed that most buildings were damaged, with signs of battle scars on the ground. We landed in the centre of the village, and the system panel flashed in my face.

{Claim Reward?}

I was alerted by completing my first task, and I felt content. I claimed the reward, but the following words caught me off-guard.

{Reward needs to be assimilated into the host's body. Please find somewhere safe as the host won't be conscious throughout the process.}

'Mew, please elaborate....'

Mew: 'uh huh, you see, this reward was a new skill, and you have to have your core slowly absorb the new power. You won't be awake during this, though....'

'Can I hold off receiving my reward?' I asked.

'Yes, you can.' Mew stated.

I focused on the task menu as the words on the panel multiplied and rearranged themselves.

My thoughts were interrupted as I was surrounded by many Demi-humans holding spears as they pointed the sharp tips at my face...
