Chapter 63: First win so I deserve a celebration!

A day later, Inside the Pokestore...

"Woohoo!!! My first win!" Alice cheered and pumped her fists.

Clara and Layla smiled wryly at their friend's never-ending enthusiasm. They have also won their preliminary rounds and successfully advanced further into the tournament. Deoxys was informed that Lucius, Akel, Erika, and other familiar people have smoothly won their battles. This was already within its expectation and Deoxys would be lying if the pokemon won't feel disappointed by their unexpected loss.

"Ah... you're right, sorry about that..." Alice apologized and rubbed the back of her neck.

Deoxys nodded: "That's good to hear. Beware, negligence is a man's worst enemy."

Alice gulped with a solemn expression: "Then I will work hard to make sure something like that doesn't happen." 

Deoxys smiled with satisfaction and the pokemon subconsciously remembered the conversation it had had with Erika three weeks ago...

[Quick Flashback]

"I deeply apologize, but I will be leaving for a few weeks until the start of the competition," Erika said with a bow, "Please forgive my discourtesy, my Goddess!"

Deoxys, who was combing Rubie's hair, raised its head: "Oh where will you be going?"

Erika clutched her chest, she felt hot all over, and her heart knocked against the ribs: 'The Goddess just told me to be careful... She cared about me, a lowly servant..." Erika's smile widened: 'Such bliss!'

She nodded to herself while saluting: "I vow with my life that I won't even let a single scratch damage my skin!!"

Deoxys: "That's a bit..."

"But if you think about it..." Alice said and snapped Deoxys out of its daze: "Then wouldn't it be better to fight strong people so I can get more powerful as well!" She explained optimistically.

"Well anyway, that's in the future! Right now I will celebrate by getting a new pokemon!!" Alice shouted.

Deoxys nodded and soon left the room. Clara and Layla glanced at Alice worriedly: "Don't you think that it's best to get a pokemon once the tournament is over?" Layla asked.

Alice shrugged: "I should be fine! It shouldn't be that bad,"

Before they could continue their conversation, Deoxys returned and Alice rubbed her hands eagerly. Deoxys was holding a small sheep in its arm and the pokemon placed the animal on the counter. The sheep have fluffy cream wool, blue skin, and conical ears with black and yellow. The pokemon also have a black and yellow tail with an orange ball at the end.

"Kyaa so cute!!!" Alice squealed and suddenly hugged the creature tightly She rubbed her face against the soft wool and she have an expression as if she was in heaven.

Deoxys frowned: "Be cautious, this pokemon's fur contains..."

BZZZZZZZZZZ

The animal unleashed a massive amount of electricity, shocking the hell out of Alice. When the teasing stopped, Alice let go and the pokemon dashed away. Her clothes were burnt, and each strand of her hair stood up in an eccentric manner. Alice coughed up smoke and collapsed onto her knees.

"This pokemon is called a Mareep. Its fur contains electricity when charged. Making contact with the wool will result in a static shock," Deoxys explained.

"Figured...." Alice groaned.

A few healing magics later...

With Layla's help, Alice finally managed to get back on her two feet. She thanked Layla before scanning around the room for the pokemon behind this. Alice eventually spotted the pokemon hiding behind Deoxys's legs and Mareep growled angrily.

Deoxys sighed and placed the irritated sheep on the counter: "This pokemon here is called Mareep and it is an electric type pokemon,"

Alice nodded and took out her Pokedex,

Mareep snarled angrily and fired a bolt of small lightning in Alice's direction. She dodged and the electricity struck the floor where she was previously standing. She cautiously approached Mareep and the pokemon gnashed his teeth.

Alice dug through her pocket and brought out a single Pokeblock. Mareep growled but his snout twitched at the alluring smell of Alice's Pokeblock. The pokemon's hunger gave in and his feet acted on their own as Mareep wobbled closer.

The sheep sniffed Alice's hand and stared at the Pokeblock. Mareep hesitantly opened his mouth and took a small bite. The sheep's eyes widened and before long, the pokemon was wolfing down the food.

Once it's gone, Mareep stared at Alice as if saying: 'Give me more,'

Alice took out another Pokeblock and Mareep instantly devoured the meal with no hesitation. This continued and when Mareep ate all the Pokeblocks Alice had with her, the sheep rest on the counter with satisfaction.

Alice giggled: "Hey Mareep, want to come with me? I got a lot more delicious food back home."

The pokemon tilted his head and pondered Alice's offer. On the first hand, Mareep doesn't like being grabbed so suddenly by Alice but on the other, that human girl has a lot of delicious food...

In the end, Mareep decided to think with his stomach instead of his brain. The pokemon nodded and Alice eagerly captured Mareep.

She raised her Pokeball in the air: "I've captured a Mareep!" Alice shouted.

Everyone stared at Alice with an awkward expressions. She suddenly felt embarrassed and scratched her cheek: "Heh heh, I always wanted to say that..."

To dispel the weird atmosphere, Deoxys sighed: "Nonetheless, I wish you three the best of luck in the tournament."

"Of course! Just watch me, I will become the best trainer in this world!" Alice smiled: "That's a promise I'm sure to keep!"

Deoxys smiled and waved goodbye to the trio, wishing for their success.

A few days later...

Alyssa pouted: "Shut up! Don't insult my Feebas!"

Capsian smiled wryly: "Well good luck, Roselia lets attack with Magical Leaf,"

Roselia spun in a circle in an elegant manner and attacked Feebas with a flurry of sharp leaves. Feebas was knocked out almost instantly and fainted.

At another Pokemon Field...

Knight Commander Eugene smiled brightly while waving to the crowd. His Larion roared pridefully and glared at the determined Growlithe. Vice Captain Kali wasn't fazed by the intimidation strategy and glared back.

Eugene faced her: "Wait before we start may I have a favorite?"

"What is it?" Kali replied with a raised brow.

"After this is over wanna go grab dinner or something?" He asked.

Hearing this Kali's eyes widened and she blushed: "Dinner... Just the two of us??? So it's like a date?" She muttered quietly and stared at Euguene with expectation but what he said next made her eyes go freezing cold.

"I needed someone to get the friend discount for the restaurant this beautiful waitress was working at," He shamelessly explained: "So what do you say?"

Kali: "..... Growlithe, burn him and his Lairon to a crisp...."

Eugene's face paled: "W..Wait a minute... H..hold on!!"

"GROWLITHE!!!" The Pokemon roared and annihilated Eugene and Lairon with a powerful Flamethrower.

Thus with the week ending, the elimination round finally ended and only eight contestants remained...
