“No, don’t press your finger on it that hard! That brings up a different function!” explained Hiyori with patience, sitting next to Everlong who had his brand new yPhone in his hand, asking himself why he nodded at the idea of Hiyori at all…
They were in her home, sitting on her brown, leather couch as night descended and she excitedly presented their matching phones. While Everlong’s was midnight blue, hers was midnight purple, looking indistinguishable without a proper source of light shining on them.
“...” blinked Everlong as he watched her cancel his previous action, starting to explain it from the start once again.
“They are not buttons to be pressed, not really! You just need to tap it! And you don’t need to force your finger onto its surface to drag the screen to the side, just, swish!” said with a smile, gesturing, giving even her own sound effects to the motion of her fingers.
“Swish…” repeated it Everlong, trying it again. Even if he was getting the hang of it, it felt alien for him. He was used to the analog, mechanical things he had for decades now. The newest invention he was a big fan of was the TV… everything after that eluded him. Until now, because Hiyori even bought a brand new laptop for him.
“See? It is not that hard! You just need to get used to it! You can watch videos on it, take pictures, who knows, even capture a ghost on some of them! Use it as a flashlight! Browse the net!” explained with great zeal, looking up at him with a wide grin “Or if you are that kind of a grandpa, you can slide it under some schoolgirls skirts on the escalator and snap some pictures! Just turn off the flash!”
“...” looked back at her with slanted eyes, scoffing a little “Grandpa?” questioned and to Hiyori’s surprise he did not question the exact part she was expecting him to.
“Well, you gave out that kind of feeling now! Looking fully annoyed to deal with something new, snorting under your breath, as if I wouldn’t notice! Like a grumpy old man!” answered, sitting up, tilting her head, scratching her chin, watching his face.
“I was just memorizing your words!” shook himself, gripping the phone “Just you watch! I’ll master this… thing! Grandpa?! Hmf!”
“Woah…” blinked Hiyori, with honest surprise as Everlong’s outburst was also genuine.
Called a grandpa and faced with the realization he really did act like one almost sent him into depression! Although he was alive for a long time he never even considered himself… old. Being called out and seeing, she was right? It sent shivers through him! Was he really this out of touch? Looking around Hiyori’s new home, he had to realize, yes, yes he was. The kind of TV she bought, the new gadgets littered on the dining table, on the kitchen counter… all of that was foreing for him. If she asked him to go and set any of those up, he would break down crying.
“Fuck.” cursed out loudly Everlong, drawing a laugh out from Hiyori, quickly guessing at what he was thinking.
“Don’t worry, I already finished setting up your laptop, the password is 1234, you can change it later!”
“O-okay.” nodded, watching as she opened the slim, top of the line Megasoft Doors Surface machine. “It has a different logo.” said something Everlong, just to not sit there in silence, feeling dumb as Hiyori operated the new gadget in his lap, leaning over him.
“Yeah, different manufacturer! I picked this because I am familiar with the Doors OS! Plus, if we later play something together, it is the best choice for that! And you can take off the bottom part and use it as a tablet! The best way to read some books, manga or play visual novels, lying down on the bed!” explained with a completely fired up voice, like a kid on christmas. “When there is a lazy sunday, the rain is falling and you just want to lay in bed all day, hiding under your blanket… it is the best!”
“You make it sound like this is Belphegor’s will incarnated.” chuckled Everlong, watching the machine, sitting in his lap and as Hiyori, showed him how to navigate around the menu and what icon is for what purpose.
“Well, I don’t know about the demons but yeah, this also could be their invention because it is devilishly good!” stuck her tongue out. “I also ordered a NAS, it's going to have 40TB free space and I am going to put together a full system for the best home entertainment possible! When it is in place, I’ll help you connect to it via wi-fi and you can watch shows I put on it, literally from anywhere!”
“I understood nothing from that, but sure. Sounds fun, I like movies.” shook his head, already lost at the instruction on how to log in when he closes it down and reopens it up.
“You’ll get it when I finish setting everything up! Don’t worry old man, I’ll help you join the 21st century!”
“...” looked at him with slanted eyes “I’m an old man.”

“Says the one who still uses a typewriter.”
“...”
“Gotcha~” grinned Hiyori with a proud look, receiving a flick to her forehead “Owie… still won!” stuck her tongue out, forcing Everlong to shake his head and smile in defeat.
It was between their playful banter when a rhythmically knocking resounded on Hiyori’s door. She quickly flinched as nobody should be even aware she is living here. She talked with Sayako on the phone, after buying it, making good on her promise to call… but she did not mention where she lives now! None of her orders should arrive this soon and it was already evening, only food deliveries would be up and running in the city… and she did not order from any of them also!
“It’s me, we need to talk.” came a calm, female voice from the other side, surprising Hiyori as she did not recognize the owner of it. Seeing Everlong standing up she knew immediately it was for him, watching from the couch with curious eyes as he walked to the front door, opening it.
“Come in.” said the detective and Hiyori just watched as a surprisingly tall, beautiful, blond woman walked into the room. Her red high-heels knocked loudly against the parquet, while her thin, porcelain white legs moved her forward. She was wearing a red, tight dress over her hourglass body, leaving a deep and big cleavage at top. Her curly, blonde hair loosely fell onto her bare shoulders while she scanned the room with her sky-blue, almost glowing eyes.
What Hiyori felt immediately was clear jealousy but she had to admit, the woman was beautiful. Otherworldly so.
“We heard you picked a lost soul up.” said the woman to Everlong as her eyes landed on Hiyori. “Another one lost to His Grace…” shook her head softly and somehow her demeanor was nothing but oil onto Hiyori’s fire in her heart.
“I’m living here so I’m not lost, thank you very much.” spoke up Hiyori with a smile that was not a smile.
“I guess you have something to say?” cut in Everlong before the guest could open her mouth. Walking to the kitchen counter and starting to brew a cup of tea up he signaled with his eyes towards Hiyori, asking her to try not to be too fiery.
“I do.” nodded the woman in red, ignoring Hiyori, walking to the other side of the kitchen counter, leaning against it, fully displaying her cleavage before Everlong’s eyes. This action of course was not unseen by his new partner and her eyes were slowly turning green. Getting up and walking to the side of Everlong, standing up on a stool she needed to comfortably reach everything, she was not about to be left out of this whole ordeal.
“I’ll help.” said with a smile that was provocatively aimed at the newcomer.
“She reminds me of the cherubs that followed the fallen.” smiled, twirling her blonde hair, glancing at Hiyori “Only difference is that this one is an anorexic in design.”
“F-” flared up Hiyori but Everlon reached out under the counter, pinching into her butt, making Hiyori jump a little and gulp back what she was about to say.
“It is unbecoming for an agent of God to act like this, Sylial. '' poured out the hot water Everlong, soaking the tea leaves in the cup.
“Stationed in the Human world changes people.” answered calmly, drawing her eyes from Hiyori back onto Everlong.
“I’m not sure if you fall under the word’s meaning.” countered Everlong.
“You know what I meant, Traitor.” shook her head “I am here to talk about why did a demon, with rights to Asylum, turned up almost dead, clenching one of my coins.” pulled out a phone from between her ample breasts, sliding it before them as it had the image of the unconscious Sheby, laying on her home’s floor.
