Hiyori was leaning against their car’s hood, smoking slowly, while waiting for Everlong, who was still in the building of their office, getting something, as he said a minute before. It was a cloudy night, ready to snow again, anytime soon.
“Weird, the last time it was this snowy… I may have not even been born!” murmured under her breath, holding the cigarette between two fingers while she pulled the zipper of her thick, white coat even higher.
Just as she was raising it up to her lips she saw another car turning off from the main road, arriving and parking down in front of her. It was a big, black pickup car with darkened windows and the man who stepped out of it was also towering over Hiyori. Even though he was slender, his height was even above that of Everlong and he wore a long, black coat, reaching down to his ankles with shining, golden trims at its edges. His head was shaved, only prompting a blonde, short mohawk, like the stripes on his coat, going backwards at the top of his head. His deep, green eyes turned towards Hiyori instantly, measuring her before grimacing, walking up to her.
“Leaning against the Fallen’s car means you are his daughter? No… your features are nowhere as grotesque as his. Lover? Fucking degenerate to have this kind of taste.”
“Frederick?” asked Hiyori, unblinking, just watching him while taking a deep drag from the cigarette, blowing the smoke towards him.
“That is Adept Frederick for you!” corrected her immediately “Fallen like you, should use my full title when addressing me, worm!”
“Fuck you.” spat Hiyori, already clenching her free hand into a fist, holding the still unused fire artifact from before.
“Don’t you think your weak artifact that you are holding has any effect on me!” smirked Frederick “I could feel it the moment I stepped out of the car and it was nothing but a toy in my eyes! Shows how much you know, you plebeian!”
The tone of his was like dragging metal nails over a chalkboard, Hiyori felt her whole body shiver and she almost pressed on it, just to see what he would say to that! But for now, she refrained from doing so. She only spoke three words to him but already came to the conclusion that Everlong was even downplaying him! This man before her was the kind she would wish to never meet and to not even know about! She already tuned out, going back to smoking, ignoring him completely, only seeing his still ongoing rambling about the sorry state of this place as a lunatic’s outburst.
Not long later another car pulled up, being a small, little city car, only big enough for two people at most. Its bright, orange color was visible from far away, even in the dark night and when Sylial got out from it she was brimming in an otherworldly, golden aura. Wearing a creamy colored jacket and pants, flaunting her golden locks she was like an idol, walking through the red carpet before her. Just as Everlong felt a headache, thinking about Frederick, seeing the woman, the angel arrive, somehow Hiyori felt the same, feeling sick just by hearing her overly friendly and seductive voice, greeting them.
“It seems like I was the last to arrive? I hope you are not angry, I’m so sorry~” chuckled, looking at them with twinkling, blue eyes.
“The Fallen is still absent, so…” crossed his arms Frederick, replying to her “Only his fleshtoy is here.” To his words, Hiyori just looked at him with slanted eyes, not really finding it worthy to snap back at.
“Give him a break, dear Frederick!” smiled Sylial “She went through a lot and just lost her ways! Also, even a Fallen can be guided back to His light! You should know the best, being a half-blood!”

“Don’t call me that, ever! I don’t care if you are an angel or not!” snapped Frederick while from his coat a golden, short staff snapped forward, landing in his palm, aiming it at Sylial.
“Don’t be angered, if you deny your heritage you must deny your success in hunting down Fallens and Demons alike! You can’t hide the fact that the lineage of your mother greatly helped you rise to prominence!” continued Sylial with an affectionate voice, smiling at him, not taking offense at all.
On the other hand, Hiyori was listening in with great attention and watching the two, getting a slow feeling she was 80% sure that what they were talking about is Frederick here being half human half angel. At least she felt she was right about it. “Fallen…” murmured to herself, guessing it must be what they refer to as the humans who turn to the powers of hell.
Amidst their weird verbal standoff, Everlong finally arrived, walking forward, puffing thick smoke from her mouth like an awakening dragon. His blue eyes were cold and clearly annoyed, just as he met the glance of Frederick. As soon as that happened, the Sigillite waved his short staff, aiming it at him. What Hiyori heard was a low hum as blue electricity danced around it, flashing forward, striking at the figure of Everlong.
It happened so fast, Hiyori had no time to react, only watching the resolution explosion, feeling the shockwave wash over her body, shaking up her inner organs and vibrating her eardrums as the loud noise of it arrived a millisecond later. She was already raising her hand, activating her artifact without thinking as bright, white-hot flames burst out, engulfing Frederick as a whole, also gobbling up the pickup behind him, immediately resulting in a fiery explosion, like that off a bomb going off.
“You manchildren!” shouted Sylial as an angry mother, spurting white angel wings, already floating above them all, with stretched out palms, containing the shockwaves of the explosions and power fluctuations of spells.
“He started.” spoke up Everlong, true to being called a manchild, walking forward from the smoke, without any damage or injury, arriving next to Hiyori, who let out a happy, long breath, worried something awful had happened! Seeing he was alright she just quickly hugged him before snapping her angry face towards where Frederick stood. “Nice job!” whispered Everlong in the meantime, rubbing her head.
Frederick’s figure soon revealed itself from the smoke and dissipating flames, also standing there without injuries. His coat was even shimmering in golden light, slowly dying down, dissipating the otherworldly aura that deflected everything from Hiyori’s direction. The same could not be said from his car that was now nothing more than a glowing, partly melted frame of metal. Everything else was burnt away from it, making the man’s eyes twitch, realizing it himself as he was looking back over his shoulder.
“Get in!” patted the bottom of Hiyori with a grin before speaking to the others “Fredrick can go with you, Sylial, we are going to Sheby first so she can contact our friend! Then we pick her up~”
“You don’t-'' spoke up Frederick, still holding his staff but Sylial had enough as a bright, sunlight-like beam came down on him, silencing the man.
“Okay. Lead on.” nodded the angel, floating down, going back to her car, all that amiable and smiling expression gone from her face, clearly fuming inside.
Watching it all play out Hiyori couldn’t help but chuckle and direkt a provocative smirk at Frederick before hopping in, next to Everlong as he revved up the engine, purposefully drifting by the wreckage of Frederick’s car, before leaving the parking lot.
