Chapter 22: (S1) EP 20|The Playmaster

They arrived at Ryushi’s house after Tezuka appointed his daughter to keep an eye on the other lady.

“Are we just gonna walk in…?” Xy asked, Tezuka, besides Suda, Yasubo, and Yuka all had keys to Ryushi’s house.

“Yes, that old man tends to lose his keys very often.”

“Right…”

Upon entering the main room, Xy was reminiscing about the moment of chaos that erupted when he was here with Zao.

“Master Tezuka, you’re he-”

It was Suda, she walked into the same room, but saw Xy, clothed in one of their red kimonos.

“Why is he here?” She asked with a serious tone.

‘That’s Ryushi’s student, right…’ Xy thought.

“He means no harm, Suda.” Tezuka replied.

“He does! Master Ryushi has been sickening out on his bed ever since those two dorks came here!” Suda said with a loud tone.

“You’re being too loud, Suda.” Ryushi said walking towards the room behind her.

“M- Master! You should rest more, I was gonna bring you your food!”

“It’s okay, Suda, if you could give us a minute, please?” He asked.

‘It’s him… He looks very sick…’ Xy thought.

“Urgh!” Suda expressed an angered emotion after closing the door in front of Ryushi, who was walking into the room, supporting his left arm with a wooden stick.

“How was your sleep, Ryu?” Tezuka asked.

“It was fine. I’m happy that you got to bring the boy back here.”

“Always, my friend.”

“Xy, would you like some tea?” Ryushi asked.

“Oh no, I’m fine sir.”

“Please, take a seat.” He asked.

The three of them sat down facing each other in a triangular position, a large door was still open that led to Ryushi’s garden, allowing a nice breath of air flow through the room.

“How are you feeling?” Ryushi asked.

“I’m feeling really good, I heard that your son helped me recover.”

“Yes, he’s very talented.”

[At Rani’s dorm]

“Master, that boy has awoken. He is currently with Tezuka at Ryushi’s house.” Yuka said, after being told this by Suda.

“I see. I will give them a visit,” Rani replied, Yasubo was eavesdropping behind a wall, even he felt angered because he saw Xy as a threat to Ryushi.

“Yasubo, mind tagging along?” Rani asked.

‘How did he notice me?!’ Yasubo thought with a shocked feeling.

“Uhm, yes, master…”

“I’ll let Ryushi have a talk first however, he’s talking to a God, after all. I can’t disrupt the conversation already…”

…

“So, Xy… You might be confused about why you’re here.”

“Yeah… Tezuka told me that he and his student had brought us here.”

“Correct, I asked them to do so.”

“Why?” Xy replied.

“There are some things I need to tell you.”

“The visions I saw. It can not be a coincidence.”

“What do you mean, sir?”

“Xy, what were your earliest memories of your life?”

“My earliest memories…”

“I… Grew up with my brother Zao, and Chaiser…”

“Our father used to teach us a lot about sword fighting.”

“I had a fun childhood if I say so myself, that until Chaiser left us…”

“Chaiser, you say?” Tezuka replied.

“The Helong Prodigy…” Ryushi softly said.

“Y- Yes… That is what our clan members would often refer to him as.”

“I never knew that he was your brother.” Ryushi replied.

“Do you know him?”

“Of course I do, he was very close with Yehuda.”

‘Yehuda…’

“Could you please tell me more about your experiences with Chaiser?” Xy replied leaning forwards.

Tezuka chuckled, “He was surely one of a kind.”

“Indeed he was.” Ryushi said.

“As I am one of the Witnesses, he came here to retrieve his aura. It was around the time Yehuda would visit my place, as well.”

“He was exceptional with the sword. He had such a unique fighting style, it was unpredictable. Many, including us, thought that Sun Lee’s brother, Sun Lu had thought him about his way of fighting. He was even given the same nickname, “The Playmaster”, as well.”

“There were just too many similarities with the two styles, yet so different…”

“Yehuda acknowledged Chaiser as an equal in terms of swordsmanship.”

“They both often sparred with each other, and even ended up traveling together, that, until the calamity happened…”

“What calamity?” Xy asked.

“The battle between Yehuda and Vee.”

‘Vee… That name sounds so familiar.’ Xy thought

“Yehuda and Chaiser would grow apart from each other, Yehuda consistently wished to have a fair fight with Chaiser, but Chaiser kept on denying, and wished for them both to battle against their enemies.”

“Yehuda was greatly disappointed and eventually decided to leave Chaiser to embark through Gaius on his own again.”

“It would not take much longer before he met Vee, she was the #11 Great Sheer at that time.”

“Isn't she now the #1?” Xy asked.

“She is, I myself don’t know much about it, but what I do know is that Yehuda had challenged her to a fight.”

“Vee grew up in the Hana clan, it was known to be the weakest clan of the Sazuka nation, yet one of them would later on defeat Yehuda, let alone become the Greatest Sheer…” Ryushi softly said.

“I’m sure you will meet her, Xy. You surely will.” 

“Why do you think so?”

“Fate works in many ways.”

"Hmm..."

“Do you know what happened to Chaiser?”

A moment of silence broke through the conversation, as Ryushi’s face saddened up, facing downwards.

“I don’t know.”

‘Hm.’ Tezuka thought as his eyes sharpened while looking at Ryushi.

“Vee knows more, Chaiser visited her, after all. I however do not know any details regarding their conversations.” Tezuka replied.

“I see…” Xy replied.

“Well, besides this, I need to tell you about those hallucinations you’ve been having.” Ryushi said.

“Yes…”

“I’ll have to ask, are you sure that you don’t know about anything before your childhood?”

“No, I really don’t, why should I?” Xy replied.

“Judging from your reaction, it seems like you are not aware.”

“Aware of what?” 

“Of the fact that you are the Child of Balance.”

‘Child of Balance…’

“It is what Nueleth had told me.”

“You’ve talked with Nueleth?”

‘Well, I can’t be surprised, they are two absolute legends…’ Xy thought.

“I have. She told me about a certain dream she had, I saw a prophecy when you were here last time.”

“What prophecy?”

“I’m telling you everything I know. You see, somehow, my body had worsened ever since I meditated with you, I’m not sure why, but your spiritual presence might have been the cause…”

“The reason why Nueleth told me about this is that she had a dream about me, it was around 20 years ago when I met her for the last time…”

Nueleth's hair color changes depending on her state of mind. It is often blonde, meaning that she is in a happy state of mind, it changes to red whenever she is angered, and whenever she is angered, the weather throughout all of Gaius no matter what time it is slightly becomes more red-colored. The closer a nation is to the Aria nation, the more the color intensifies. However, this is an extremely rare occurrence.

Her hair turns silver whenever she is in a worried state of mind, this also is an extremely rare occurrence, although it happens more than her being angered.

She is immortal and is known as the Greatest magician in the history of the Aria nation, her forest is a place that defies reality due to her overwhelming powers. Time moves slightly faster, as well. She is also known to be omnipresent and omnipotent within her forest. Nobody enters it without her permission.

All nation leaders have the outmost respect for her, mostly for her deeds during the War of Eternal Fires.

“Favorable, I must say.” Nueleth replied.

“That is great to hear, so, what was your request to bring me here for?

“Ryushi, there are a few things I must tell you.”

“Of course, go ahead.”

“The Child of Balance has been reborn.”
