Chapter 11: [S1] Ch10: Outside world #2

[Yui-chan, in two hundred meters, please turn right.] 

"Ok!" 

Currently, we are running. Actually, I'm the only one running since Rui-chan is flying. So yeah, we are going somewhere with a great speed. I was excited. After all, I finally get to use my railgun again.

Rui-chan detected another strong presence nearby. And it was another evolved animal like that cat from before. Because of that, she charged the railgun. The bar thingy on the side of the railgun that shows how many percent it has was now fully bars with blue glowing thingy. There were five bars. 

[We're getting close, be prepared.] 

"Got it." 

After a while of following Rui-chan's directions, it seems like we finally reached the destination. There were many blood stains on the side. I saw a large animal chasing something. It was about to times the size of Koichi.

[That dog is our target, Yui-chan.] Rui-chan said.

The large dog was an old scary looking dog. The dog was white and brown that has large ears and big mouth. There was blood dripping from its mouth. The dog was chasing a running small cat. The dog then slashed the cat with its claws. The cat was cut into three pieces. 

{Kukuku, as the supreme dog, I will wipe out all those ambitious cats and feed them to my fellow kin!} The dog shouted. The dog was proud of himself. He then ate the dead cat. 

"That dog seems kinda creepy." 

[That's just a normal nature of evolved animals.] 

"And what is that?"

[Based on my studies, the negative emotions that evolved animals received before seemed to be taking over them. That is why, they become monsters. You see, animals can't really think before. However, once they gain intelligence, they will realise how unfair the world could be.] 

"Negative emotions they received before?" 

[Yes, no matter how much they loved humans before. Once they turn into an evolved one, the more things they have dislikes from humans, like animal abuse and such, the more evil they become. Just like that dog, his hatred towards cats is overflowing more than his nature as a pet.] 

"I see. I kinda don't get it, but ok." 

[It's fine. We should focus on a different matter first.]

The dog turned his face to the side. He saw us. He looked at us. The dog smiles at us. {It's a human! Have you seen my owner human, female stranger human?}

"... Nope." I replied. The dog looked kinda sad.

{... I wonder where my human went? Can you new female human feed me dog food? I want to eat dog food. My human didn't leave me enough dog food.} 

"I don't have dog food for you, sorry." 

{... Aw... But I'm getting sick of eating stray cats...} 

"Find something else, then." 

{... Something else.... Can I try you, human?} 

"What do you mean by try?"

{I want to eat human. Other humans suddenly vanished, so I don't want you to vanish too.} The dog said. He then brought a dead cat using his mouth in front of me. {Look, human. Aren't I good? Praise me!} 

I stared at the cat. It looks kinda pitiful. Really, I'm kinda serious about it looking pitiful. It was in such a state that looks trash. A pitiful art made by a pitiful artist.

While I was staring at it, I felt something from above. It was wet. I looked above, I saw the dog with his tongue out. It was saliva.

"... Motherf*cker..." 

[... Just take a bath later, Yui-chan.]

"... Alright, I get it." I said. I walked away from the dog since he was a bit too close. 

{Where are you going, human?} He asked. I ignored him. I raised my hands. I pointed the railgun towards the dog. I pulled the trigger. 

The blue ball hits the dog's left hands, I mean foot. The dog cried. I didn't aim for his head because I wanted to make him suffer for putting his filth on me. 

I watched. The dog growled. He wasn't down. He got up. His teeth were showing out. However, his hands which just exploded came back. 

[Be careful, Yui-chan. He seems to be able to self regenerate. It will be a tough fight.] 

"What am I supposed to do?" 

[Well, self regenerations have limits. Just hold out.] 

"That sounds such a pain." 

[It's not like we have a choice.] 

"... Ok." 

The dog was angry. He's looking at me with scary eyes. I continued shooting him. He also continued regenerating, but in exchange, he wasn't able to move.

"Hey, how long do you think he will last?" 

[It depends. Though, this seems like a high leveled one. So I'm estimating that Yui-chan will lose.]

"What?"

[Don't worry though, as usual. I will be rewinding the time again and make more preparations. Not now though, Yui-chan should at least try her best.] 

"What do you mean?" I asked. However, she didn't answer anymore. Then, the dog finally managed to escape from my continuous shooting as he climbed up a building's wall like a lizard. 

He then howled very loudly, looking up at the sky. 

[Haha, this is bad.]

"What are you laughing at?" 

[He's calling for his friends.] 

"Friends?"

[In other words, he's calling for reinforcements.] 

"Eh? Is that another ability?" 

[That's right.] She said. After that, it was followed by some weak howls nearby. [Dogs are considered to be one of the top pets of the world. So, Yui-chan has to deal with at least...] 

She paused her sentence. More dogs started appearing one after another. They were everywhere. They were surrounding me. She then continued her sentence. [At least this much.]

I heard continuous barks. I was as if in a choir of dogs. They were too many. Like, very many. There was many dogs in this road. And on the other. And on the alleys. They were all growling at me.
