Chapter 11: Chap 11 – Why do they hate me so much? Part 1.

Elysia and Amanda were fighting in front of my bed when I woke up.

"Today is my day," said Elysia.

"Yesterday was your day," Amanda argued.

"It was already arranged that I would take care of Alber-sama in the morning, and you've been doing so without complaint for all these years!"

"I'm already awake, you can stop."

There is no way this childish quarrel can continue, "Amanda, Elysia, please get along with each other. There's no need to fight over such a trivial matter."

"But—"

"There are many things that we need to do today," I gave them a serious look. Both girls fell silent at once, then they both nodded meekly.

They are not bad people; they just have a hard time controlling their emotions.

I went downstairs where Elly had prepared breakfast as always. This time it was something different than usual: fried chicken and sausages. She must be tired from cooking every day.

While eating, I asked the girls about how the preparations were going.

The maids were preparing papers to enter the same school as me.

They needed my mother's signature to do this, and luckily, she agreed right away.

That made everything easier. The only thing left now was the interview itself.

My father also promised to come by to help out.

In short, the interviews should go well.

"Hey, Elly. Are you feeling alright?"

"Yes. But I am very happy that the two of us will attend the same school together."

She answered me with a strange kind of cheerfulness.

Why did she become so happy just because the two of us were attending the same school? It seemed unnatural.

Was there anything else going on here? Or maybe I was just getting paranoid again...

We arrived at the interview building before lunchtime.

After passing through the entrance hall, we walked towards an office room with three people waiting inside. One was a middle-aged man wearing glasses while the others wore black suits and my dad too as promised. They greeted us as soon as we entered the room.

"Hello. I am the headmaster of this academy, Mr. Hayashi. Welcome."

"Good luck," I said to my maids.

Now I can't do anything else, so I'll just wish them luck.

Then they bowed deeply and then started walking into the room.

Today's class is about magical beasts.

This class has a lot more theory than practical lessons.

The first lecture was about magical beasts themselves. Magical Beasts had physical bodies and minds, some examples of magical beasts were dragons, unicorns, centaurs, phoenixes, mermaids, minotaurs, and basilisks among others. These creatures existed naturally or came from the legends of old.

Their magic abilities ranged from weak to strong depending on species and age. Some magical beasts even possessed magic abilities beyond what humans usually have.

Magical beasts were divided into four categories according to their size: small, medium, large, and gigantic. The average magical beast was small. However, some were big enough to eat whole villages if they wanted to.

Each type of creature had its characteristics which varied from being able to fly or swim to having poison blood or fire breath.

Some of the smaller magical beasts were intelligent but most were simple animals. A few rare ones had human intelligence or the ability to speak.

After class, I went to meet Amanda.

She always wanted to eat with me.

So, I brought her to the cafeteria to buy our food. We ordered the same stuff that Elly usually cooks for us.

"Are you nervous about the interview?"

"Yeah."

"They'll do to be fine."

"That's what worries me," muttered Amanda.

We bought our meal and then went to sit down at a table.

Then the first bell rang.

After lunch, students began leaving one by one.

On my way to the classroom, I heard whispers.

"It's not possible that this happened," one student said.

As I approached I could see a newspaper.

A newspaper about me.

'Young Tonhaed got stood up on his first date,' and a picture to prove it was on the news side.

How do they find out about this?

And the worst of all, they even put a picture.

I tore off the page and threw it away.

Just as I expected, I received a lot of nasty looks from people around me.

I don't know why they hated me so much.

I ran to my house after ignoring those people.
