The news about me began to diminish after a few weeks.
People still looked at me whenever I passed them, but it wasn't as bad as before.
Maybe they forgot?
My thoughts were interrupted when Elly showed up.
"Master, I brought you some more food."
"Thanks, Elly."
It was still time for a break at school.
Amanda and Elysia didn't show up again, they still had some issues to work out.
I ate the bread Elly gave me.
"Here, I made you one too."
She handed me another piece.
"Oh, thanks, Elly."
I ate that one too.
"Do you want more?"
"No thank you, Elly."
I wanted to make sure she knew how grateful I am.
"Don't worry about it, Master. You don't need to repay me."
"But I appreciate all your help."
"It's okay. It's just part of my job."
"Still, you've been a great help. Thank you, Elly."
"It's fine, Master."
After eating lunch with Elly, I headed back to my classroom.
It was time to start learning magic again.
Today we learned about summoning and binding.
There are three ways to summon: with an incantation, with a talisman, or with a contract.
Contracts are made between two creatures who share a strong bond.
Incantations require chanting words while using mana to manipulate the elements.
Talismans are magical items that use runes inscribed onto them to create spells.
To learn the first two types of summons, we needed to find a suitable creature.
"Are you ready, Albert?" asked the teacher.
"Yes."
"Good. Then let us begin."
The teacher began teaching us the basics of summoning.
First, we learned to recite the proper incantations.
"Let us begin with a simple invocation. This spell allows us to bring forth a spirit."
The teacher held up a small stone statue.
She chanted a word that sounded like “wish”, then placed the stone statue on top of a desk.
As soon as he finished reciting her words, the statue began moving.
"That was amazing! The stone moved on its own!" said the boy sitting next to me.
"Indeed. Now let's see if we can do it ourselves."
The teacher gave each of us a small rock.
"Hold this rock in your hands. Close your eyes, take a deep breath, and relax. When you feel calm enough, think of a creature you wish to summon."

"Like a ghost?"
"Precisely."
I took a deep breath.
I felt myself becoming calmer than usual.
I opened my eyes and focused on the image of a cat.
I closed my eyes again.
And once again, the stone statue moved.
"You're doing it, Albert."
"How long did that take you?"
"Just over ten seconds."
Ten seconds?! That sounds like no big deal…
"Very good, Albert."
"Thank you very much."
"Now, let's try to do it without thinking of anything specific."
I repeated the process from earlier.
Once again, the stone statue moved by itself.
"What did you summon?" asked the teacher.
"A black cat."
"Excellent. And now, what shall you name this creature?"
"Aphy."
"Can it talk?" I asked.
"Of course, it can. All summoned spirits have their own personality, so you should expect them to speak."
"Okay, Aphy. Can you understand me?"
"Hmmm…yes, I'm able to communicate with humans."
"That's fantastic. I love cats, and you seem to be quite smart."
The rest of the class was just talking to our summoned being.
At the end of the class, the teacher looked at Aphy. She gave him all the points after the review and she seemed happy.

Elly was waiting for me when I left school.
A blond boy stopped us on the way home.
He wore a church outfit with a strange symbol on the chest.
His hair was bright red and he looked rather young. He must be around twelve or thirteen.
"Hello," he said cheerfully. "My name is Johann."
"Master, watch out," Elly stepped in front of me.
"Today, I, the bishop of lust, will judge you, Sinner Albert."
Johann continued speaking.
"Your sin has led you astray. In the name of God, I hereby sentence you to death. Prepare yourself for eternity in Hellfire!"
