Chapter 12: Tour?

As I open the establishment’s golden doors, a little bell rings to alert the staff of my arrival, or rather, a customer. A whiff of steak yet again consumed my nostrils. I scan the area. Holy crap! Chatter fills my ears, I see chocolate, strawberry, and some blue sundaes. I notice four doors with a for rent sign. Are they similar to love hotels? I feel a tight grasp on my back. It’s Yui. Her hands shaking profusely.

“Let’s go to the front desk.” My eyes sparkled.

Yui shakes her head but follows me.

I halt abruptly and Yui thuds into my back,

“Owee… I’m sorry!” Yui rubbed her bunny ears, thinking that she hurt someone.

I grip my heart as I felt an unforeseen pain. Is this really a Hero Academy or a place to lock up problematic noble wannabes? cause I’ve not seen any do FUCK ALL apart from belittling others.

“Y-you lo-look pissed.” Yui stretches my chin like a string.

“Yui, you’re daydreaming.” I chuckle.

What was I saying? Stupid thoughts. I’m sure they’re productive… some way.

I notice Kait waving at me.

“Hey, guess you came…” Kait cracked a smile, then wielding a glass proceeded to sip what I presume is tea.

Again, her lengthy black hair is covering her left eye. Including a black ribbon attached to a strand of hair where her left eye is supposed to be. Her outfit is white in the middle, whilst it’s black everywhere else. Kait’s eyes have black pupils shaped as a star. Let’s not forget her average size breasts.

“You’re still hiring, right?” I rest my left hand on the counter.

“Of course.” Kait closed her eyes, resting the glass on the side.

I receive weird noises behind me.

“It seems you have brought company.” Kait washed the glass, the water washed away the tea. Kait casually stared at Yui’s bright red face.

“s-s-sc-scary…” Yui's arms masked her face.

Kait places the glass on the side and wraps her arm around my shoulders. Her breasts were inches away from my face. I felt like I’m in a headlock.

“Why is she shaking? What did you do?!” Kait whispered. I feel a tight grip around my neck.

“N-n-nothing. Yui is just really shy.” I panic. Kait grips even tighter, like a lion catching its prey. It felt like I’m a ghost now.

“I see.” Kait smiled, walked up to Yui and gently touches her hands.

I fall to the ground, gasping for air. Am I alive?! I feel my throat, Damn.

“You got this!” Kait smiled at her. Stars scattered around Kait as it seemed like a whole new world lit up in Yui’s eyes. Kait raised her hand, reaching for her bunny ears, and stroking them.

After a while, Kait showed us into the kitchen. At least it’s not gold. It’s a standard-looking kitchen area. What you’d expect in a restaurant. Pots, cooking utensils, blah blah blah.

“Here, you two get dressed,” Kait stated, throwing an all-black suit, black tie, T-shirt and pants. Oh, and a white rose attached to my upper left chest whilst Yui received the same uniform as Kait, a maid outfit.

Kait stands firm in between me and Yui, shortly walking in front and facing us.

“Okay, there are four rented rooms, a white, pink, black and green room. We filled each of those rooms with royal-like beds and enormous tables. Buttons in each room so the customers can order instead of coming out. I know… lazy bastards.” Kait nodded her head up and down.

I can’t comprehend if Kait likes customers or despises them. Either way, you’re bound to have morons.

“I’m guessing they’re expensive. Those rooms I mean.” I scratch my chin.

“Yep, I don’t even know why we have them… We’re a bloody restaurant.” Kait sighed, hands on hips like a superhero.

“Right,” Kait inhales.

“Follow me.” Offering her arm to us.

We leave the kitchen and Kait walks to a bar area. She points toward an odd crystal ball.

“This is used for a slight pay as well…”

“How?” I wondered.

“This crystal fuels our kitchen. If this runs out of juice… We’ll run out of magic for the kitchen.” Kait informed, staring intently at the crystal ball.

“Oh, they still pay by cash as well,” Kait added.

It’s like gas then? So the customer pays by transferring some magic to the crystal ball and cash? That’s interesting. A quite, unique idea. I’m constantly battling with my logic. Do I use Earth’s teachings? Or the logic of the isekai world? Argh?! I just don’t know! I felt like ripping my hair.

“Hey, Yui, are you listening?” Kait leaned closer to her with hands on hips.

“Y-y-y-y-yes?!” Yui squeaked like a baby chick.

I observe the restaurant a lot more clearly now, cosy red cushions and square tables scatter throughout the monstrous area, Golden front doors. Seriously… What’s with all the gold?
