“Oh my, what is she doing???”
“It’s dangerous!”
“Did she become desperate?!”
The students shouted as they witnessed this strange scene.
“Actually, this position gives Lady Isla an advantage. She might win at this rate.” The Professor pointed out.
All eyes turned to him.
“What do you mean?!” A female student yelled.
Professor Ingsen cleared his throat. He feared that they would burn a hole through his head at this point. “Standing in a higher position will not only give you a clearer view of your opponent and targets but also gives you free rein when turning your body.”
“What is the point if she falls?” The same female students retorted. The others agreed with her.
The Professor pointed at Aurora. “Can you still say that after seeing her form?”
They all turned to look at Aurora, and there was only one way for them to respond.
‘No, they couldn’t.’
Her form was too perfect. She wasn’t shaking at all, which only showed that she didn’t have any problem with her balance.
One student mumbled under his breath, “What’s so hard about that? Any of us can do that with some practice.”
The Professor shook his head. “Only someone with complete confidence and trust in their balance, agility, and more importantly, their horse can achieve such a feat.” He glanced over each student of his. “Can you do such a thing?”
For Nobles and their families, pride is everything. And those with nothing but pride, how can they put their trust in an animal?
Some of the students hung their heads and said nothing.
The corner of Aurora's lips slightly lifted in a smile as she began to counterattack.
Her plan did not only include changing her sight of view. Standing also blocked Lillian from hitting another target. By watching her every movement, Aurora timed the release of her arrow.
While Lillian was startled at first, she pushed it aside and judged Aurora’s action as nothing but a reckless performance that stemmed from desperation.
“It’s my win.”
However, Lillian would soon know how wrong she was when she released her 4th arrow.
Lillian aimed.
Aurora also took aim at her target.
Lillian shot her 4th arrow, not at all concerned with Aurora.
Aurora narrowed her eyes and waited.
“One…two….one…”
*swish*
Aurora released the arrow from her bow.
Just as the arrow reached the midsection between the two, the arrow Aurora released knocked it off course.
Lillian’s arrow plunged into the ground, missing its target, while Aurora’s arrow flew straight and hit the target.
Finally, Lillian was down to nine.
At this, the crowd could not help but gasp. Some in awe, some in confusion.

‘‘‘What just happened?!!’’’
The Professor grinned with delight. 'See?'
She used her arrow to knock Lillian’s arrow off course and protected the rest of her targets. If that was not enough, instead of falling, the arrow continued on its way and hit one of Lillian's targets.
With this, Aurora proved that the letter of recommendation she received was due to her ability and her ability alone.
At first, half of his students did not know what happened, while the other half refused to believe it...that is until she demonstrated her archery skills a second time.
Seeing as how Aurora was able to pull off such a feat twice, they knew then and there that even if she did not win the race, they had no choice but to acknowledge her techniques.
Every time Lillian took out an arrow to shoot, so did Aurora.
And even if she hesitated, Aurora did not. She not only protected her people but also attacked her enemies.
Before the 4th lap even ended, Lillian was down to one single target.
‘No! I refuse to let this happen!’ Lillian clenched her teeth. ‘I will not let her take him from me!!’
He’s…MINE!!!
Lillian took a deep breath. The foreign power that attached itself ran its course through her body. She tried her best to suppress it, but she slowly lost sense of herself as she thought about him.
While she might be able to get rid of one of her rivals, the Duke will surely not forgive her for her action when he finds out. If she insists that it was an accident, will he believe her?
Amazingly, she somehow retained a rational mind despite losing herself to her dark emotions. Nevertheless, this changed as a voice filled with greed and temptation whispered in her ears.
Kill.
So what? Even if he finds out, he will come to forgive you in time. And if you stay by his side during his grief without giving up, he will open up his heart to you. You’ll be able to have him for yourself. It is what you’ve been dreaming of from the beginning. Is that not why you decided to go through with the experiment to restore the strength in your arm? So, you can get his attention again? You might not get another chance if you do not kill her now.
Don’t kill.
‘As a Knight of this Dukedom, I cannot kill an innocent person. I am…a Knight. That’s why I tried my best to keep being human.’
Kill.
Hahaha! No, the moment you had to "try" was the moment you stopped being human. You’ve already killed so many, what’s one or two more? Do you not remember how good it felt as you tore apart their limbs? And the moment last they took in their last breath? You…hehehe…you had such a satisfying smile on your face.
A shiver ran down her spine as Lillian recalled her first time killing an innocent. She had forgotten it before due to losing herself, but that memory was now as clear as day.
Don’t kill.
No, no, no, no, no!! It was an accident I didn’t want to kill them. I only wanted to scare them a little…that’s right, Kian. Kian said that it wasn’t my fault. That they were too weak. That’s why...he said to keep a low profile at the academy until things died down.
Kill.
You’re right. It wasn’t your fault at all. It’s them who are weak who are at fault. It’s okay, if she’s strong she won’t die. But if she dies just from a single attack, then she truly doesn’t belong by his side. And when she is gone, you will be the only one he will rely on.
'I won't stand for it. Lucius...I'll show you who is more worthy of you.'
That's right, good girl. First, get rid of this low-born woman.
And then, the Princess.
Kill. Kill. Kill. Kill. Kill. Kill. Kill. Kill. Kill. Kill. Kill. Kill. Kill. Kill. Kill. Kill. Kill. Kill. Kill. Kill. Kill. Kill. Kill. Kill. Kill. Kill. Kill. Kill. Kill. Kill. Kill. Kill. Kill. Kill. Kill. Kill. Kill. Kill. Kill. Kill. Kill. Kill. Kill. Kill. Kill. Kill. Kill. Kill. Kill. Kill. Kill. Kill. Kill. Kill. Kill. Kill. Kill. Kill. Kill. Kill. Kill. Kill. Kill. Kill. Kill. Kill. Kill. Kill. Kill. Kill. Kill. Kill. Kill. Kill. Kill. Kill. Kill. Kill. Kill. Kill.
The monster inside took over. It whispered gently as if caressing her.
Now, raise your arms and aim true.
“It’s not…my fault….”
As though in a trance, Lillian lifted her bow and aimed the arrow at Aurora’s heart.
