A few weeks passed since the incident with Lillian at the advanced archery class.
Aurora only showed up occasionally in that class after the Professor accepted her as his student. She wanted to focus more on completing her summoning array.
A lot of other things also occurred after that.
Rumors and whispers started spreading in the academy with speculation about exactly what happened. Some were insults towards Aurora, while some praised her skills in archery.
And then the rest were doubts about Lillian.
Lillian Lancaster is the top student of her year in archery. She was the closest to becoming a master archer, and the students all respected her. Even though she lost her ability to use a sword, she trained the strength in her arm enough to pull a bowstring.
And yet, that very same top student who was once close to becoming a Knight of Rizar made such a low-level mistake.
From then on, the rumors escalated as the students believed Lillian purposely aimed at Aurora due to jealousy. After all, everyone knew how close Lillian was to the Duke in the past.
And Lillian's absence from her classes for a while despite having healed only flamed the whispers, making it spread like wildfire.
In the end, Professor Ingsen classified the incident as an accident. Thanks to that, the academy no longer investigated it. While there were still some rumors flying around, no one bothered about it much.
Also, that same day when Aurora returned to her room, she was taken aback at finding her two roommates waiting up for her. They were both too concerned to sleep and wondered if she was okay.
Griselda showing concern for Aurora only proved how close they have become, which was within Aurora's calculations. Nonetheless, for the Princess to go out of her way greatly confused Aurora.
The Princess of the Ignis Kingdom, Princess Estelle pulled Aurora aside. “You should be careful of Lady Lancaster.”
Aurora frowned. “Lady Lillian? Why?”
‘Does the Princess know something?’
“It’s…I can not bring myself to explain. However, when I met her eyes before, it felt like I was drowning. She is dangerous.”
Aurora raised her eyebrows. ‘Can it be that her ability to sense different energies is as strong as her?'
Well, Aurora knew from the beginning that Lillian was dangerous. So, nothing much changed for her from then on. Instead, she set her sights on focusing on her research and barely left her laboratory provided by her Magic Theory class.
She was delighted she learned that each student received their own space and budget to study and conduct research.
Apparently, there were two reasons for this excessive treatment for the students in the Magic Theory Department her senior told her about.
“One, every achievement a student makes can further advance the usage of sigils for the Empire.” The male student raised a second finger. “And second, there are not too many students, so the budget isn’t tight.” He said with a smile.
“Then, here you go.” He threw a notebook and key at me. “That’s the key to your lab. The notebook is your order form, and it also has your budget for the semester. Just write down what you need, and you’ll receive your order within 24 to 48 hours along with your adjusted budget.”
He continued explaining a few other things, like how the class is every day but is not mandatory, even for the first years.
And how Bridget Belsant, the Professor for the Fundamental of Magic Theory Class, was always in the classroom until the last bell rang. Even if you do not attend class, you can freely ask her any questions you might have unless she is not in the middle of a lecture.
“Oh right, you also know how students in this department only have one main class, right?” When Aurora nodded her head, her senior grinned. “There’s a good reason for that….”

Well, because of that senior’s advice, Professor Belsant was in the middle of a crisis and on the very of resigning.
“Every day, every single day….” Bridget put her hand on her forehead. She glared at the young girl with a large book in her hand standing in the doorway. “Don’t you get tired of it?!!”
Aurora blankly looked at the Professor as though she asked her a foolish question. “No. Why would I?”
After realizing how helpful the Professor was, Aurora didn’t want to let go of the chance to have her doubts about the summoning techniques used in this timeline answered.
Appearance-wise, Bridget Belsant was as normal as one could be. With short brown hair cut straight just before her jawline and glasses that made seeing her eyes difficult, she didn’t stand out all.
As she was the 6th child of a Baron family, her parents did not care much for what she did with her life. Due to this, she spent most of her childhood reading books and researching various things related to magic.
That is why when Aurora first appeared in front of her, she was immediately jealous of this lady who used her appearance to escape the fate of those from low Noble households.
Due to this misconception, Bridget found herself judging Aurora as someone cunning and shameless who would give up quickly. However, this was not the case at all!!
“…What is it this time?” Professor Belsant sighed. She still has a lot to learn when it comes to people.
Pleased, Aurora walked over and dropped the heavy book on her desk.
“What kind of book is this big?” Bridget pushed her glasses up and took a closer look. She stood up and banged her hands on the table when she read the title. “Isn’t this the Book of Ancient Runes by Art LaFleur??? How did you find this??!!” The Professor asked, startled.
Aurora tilted her head. “I found it in Duke Rizar’s library. Is there a problem?”
“T-the Duke….” She hung her head in disappointment. “No wonder. Only Duke Rizar can have such a valuable book like this in this Dukedom. I guess there’s no chance for me to borrow it…”
Aurora glanced at the book. Seeing how old it seemed, she had a feeling it was special. But the way Lucius told her to take and do whatever she wanted with the books made her think it wasn’t that important.
“You can.”
“Yes!!” Bridget’s eyes sparkled in response. “Really?” She moved her head closer to Aurora. “Really? Really? Really?!”
Aurora stepped back….‘Too close. She’s like a child.’
“Professor Belsant, I was wondering if you can tell me your age?”
“Yes?” Bridget calmed down and sat back in her chair. “I’m 22 though, why?”
‘Ah. She IS a child.'
Now that she thinks about it, Lucius is two years younger than the Professor. And Aurora lived until she was 30, so there is a 10-year gap between her and Lucius. But if you think about the age of her current body, it’s 15, so there is actually a 5-year gap between them. Oh, even though she doesn't know how long it was, there’s the time she spent in the void as well…..does that also count?
Aurora. ━━( ̄ー ̄*|||━━ < ------- The person who feels very complicated about her current age.
"Let's just not think about it."
