Ten minutes before the play started…
“Has anyone seen Lady Helen??” The instructor asked. “There are only a few minutes left until the play starts, and she has to go on!”
“Ah…she said she wasn’t feeling well and ran off to the restroom.” Molly, one of Yulia’s friends, answered.
The instructor grimaced. ‘Oh no, what to do?... Right, someone who doesn’t have any scenes with her…” She glanced at the person standing next to Molly. “Yes, Lady Yulia, do you mind taking on two roles?”
Yulia glared at her. “You want me, Yulia Vel Nolbeia, to take on the role of a servant?”
The female instructor flinched back. ‘Offending the Nolbeia family isn’t good. Doing so meant receiving half-baked weapons and forfeiting your life.’ She lowered her head and clenched her teeth. ‘What should I do? While the maid in the play barely says a few lines, some scenes will be tricky without one.’
As she mulled over what to do, she saw a student raise her hand. Her eyes brightened but then quickly dimmed when she saw who it was. “What is it?”
“I don’t mind taking on the role.”
Everyone’s eyes widened in disbelief. ‘What did she say?!!’
Just a few moments ago, wasn’t she the one who advised them to cancel the play? And now she’s volunteering to play the role of a servant?
Estelle and Griselda glanced at each other. They were both just as confused. After Aurora confronted the instructor, she disappeared for a few minutes and later returned as if nothing happened.
“You…you, what are you talking about?”
Aurora innocently blinked her eyes. “I said I don’t mind playing the role of the maid. It’s only a few trivial lines, right? It shouldn’t be too difficult.”
“………….Fine.” It’s not like she had a choice. As Aurora said, the lines of the maid were few and trivial. “Then let’s get to our places.”
However, Princess Estelle thought the missing student and Aurora volunteering to take her place was too much of a coincidence. She didn't plan on ruining the play, did she?
Estelle glanced at Aurora. ‘She wouldn’t……would she?’
And that’s how Aurora ended up on stage in a maid’s outfit.
[ Millianna Carna received a letter from the Crown Prince. He mentioned wanting to visit her to have a private discussion with her at her home. But the Crown Princess was nervous. She knew that there were many ladies after his affection. While the Emperor was the one to arrange their engagement, they still did not have a banquet. This scared her into thinking that he would one day tell her that he loved another and could not marry her. ]
“Sigh. What do you think the Crown Prince wants to speak with me about, Anne?”
[ Millianna sighed as she asked her personal maid standing next to her. Anne looked at Millianna with worry, concerned about her Lady, who barely slept since receiving the Crown Prince’s letter. ]
“…Who knows?”
Everyone froze at the maid’s response. Even the audience found it strange that the narration didn’t match the maid’s words.
Estelle was at a loss until the instructor forcefully changed the scene with the narration.
[ Millianna worried about what to wear during her meeting with the Crown Prince. She went over each outfit and asked for her personal maid’s help. Anne carefully prepared and selected Millianna’s clothes and jewelry. Thanks to this Millianna was now confident that the Crown Prince would look her way. ]
“Anne! Which outfit do you think I should wear!”
Estelle looked at the rack with the dresses. Aurora was supposed to take her time and carefully pick out the most beautiful dress that matched her.

But…
Aurora randomly picked a dress. She took it off the hanger and threw it at Estelle.
Startled, Estelle caught it.
“!!!” < --- Princess Estelle.
“???” < --- The audience.
“___” < --- The instructor.
“I-I don’t think this one is good. How about the blue one?” Estelle was panicking since it wasn’t the dress she was supposed to wear.
When Aurora glared at her, Estelle flinched. “I g-guess this will do…hohoho…”
“Heh!” Lucius tried to hold back his laughter at this disastrous scene and covered his mouth. But the audience failed spectacularly at this and laughed without stop, thinking the play about the Black Witch was taking a comedic undertone. Lucius, however, knew that it wasn’t.
And the red curtains closed.
The next scene did not take long to start. It was only after a few scenes that Aurora made another appearance, along with Estelle and a male student who played the Crown Prince.
[ In the parlor room, Milliana and the Crown Prince sat on the couch facing each other. Anne, the maid, stood to the side as she waited for orders. Milliana asked Anne to bring tea and snacks for her and her guest. After drinking the tea, the Crown Prince mentioned the reason for his visit. He wanted to announce their engagement at his birthday banquet. ]
“Anne, please bring us tea.”
Everyone held their breath, thinking about what Aurora planned on doing next. The past few scenes were boring, but the scenes with this maid livened things up.
And, of course, she did not fail their expectations.
Aurora slammed two glasses of water on the table. “Enjoy.”
The male student was so scared that he jumped out of his seat. The audience couldn’t help but laugh at his reaction, finding it amusing. Seeing him flustered, Estelle tried to calm him down by returning to their original script.
“Thank you, Anne.” She smiled at the male student, perfectly playing the role of the kind daughter of a high-ranked noble. “Crown Prince, for what reason did you want to meet me today.”
The male student glanced at Aurora but slowly calmed himself when he heard Estelle. “Ah…I…I came to ask for your hand in marriage and to throw a party for our engagement.”
Estelle clasped her hands together in excitement. “Your Highness is it really okay to pick me?!”
Aurora then felt something strange. It was as though the stage was…trembling?? Her head popped up as her eyes widened. The two tons heavy chandelier was shaking side to side.
It was going to fall!!!
Aurora heard a few popping sounds and glasses breaking as the lightbulbs fell. The entire chandelier had already fallen halfway down. The male student stood frozen while Estelle tried to get him to move even though it was too late.
The lights flickered and died out, darkening the entire theater.
