Although Aurora was able to see the explosion coming due to her foresight ability, she couldn't avoid it. Thinking she was done for, Lucius grabbed her and ran across the large room in a matter of seconds.

Before the sound of a loud explosion went off, he covered both of them with his mana, while Gaius, who could not use his mana directly, relied on the furniture to hide.

When the trembling stopped, the three were barely able to see inside the rune due to the smoke.

“Master, Aurora, are you okay?!” Tanya and Anya called out from the other side, along with some other servants.

“We are fine,” Lucius replied calmly. His mana pulsed and spread out. As though a gentle wind breezed across the room, the smoke cleared out. Thanks to this, their visibility returned.

The wall, or at least what was left of it, now had a large hole in the middle. It was enough for a few people to pass through it. The broken parts had turned into ash.

Tanya, Anya, and a few Knights that guarded the mansion stood on the other side with a dark expression.

Exactly who had the guts to attack the Duke in his own home?!

The Knight’s face leaned towards turning blue, rather than black, from fear of their foreseeable punishment. They were in charge of protecting the mansion while the Captain and Vice Captain were away, and yet, they have allowed an assassin to intrude into the very place where their Commander and his future Duchess sleep?!

Unaware of the Knight’s thoughts, Aurora, Gaius and Lucius stared blankly at the hole.

“Well then…” Gaius waved his hand back and forth to clear the little bit of smoke left in front of him. While Lucius was able to cover him and Aurora with his mana, Gaius was covered all over in soot. But as a blacksmith, this was normal for him. “At least we know her sigil works…”

Aurora and Lucius turned their heads at the same time to glare at Gaius.

The blacksmith froze in his steps. “…Sorry.”

Aurora looked around the room. She could not believe that she was the one who caused this much damage. "Runes can explode?" It was as though it exploded from being overheated.

The light element shouldn't have this type of explosion ability. Instead, it was as though she used a fire type rune. While Aurora was a little worried, she was quite excited at the thought of being able to use fire runes.

The title she was given in the past as the 'Zero Flame Witch' will finally be no more!

“It is very, very rare, but yes, it can happen if you can't control the amount of mana you use to signal your sigil to activate the rune.”

As she thought, it wasn't due to her fire affinity that caused the explosion.

Aurora sighed in disappointment. "If that's all it is, why not tell me this before we start?"

"If that's all it is, you say?" Gaius raised an eyebrow. "It takes a large amount of mana to do so. It never crossed my mind that you’d be able to destroy a rune. Even if you are a triple attribute holder, you can not have such a large amount of mana without being a Witch, and that is impossible. Witches are nearly extinct after all! Hahahaha!” He threw his head back and laughed out loud. "What's the point of telling you then?"

“……” Aurora.

“……” Lucius.

Right, they forgot.

He doesn’t know she’s a Witch!!

Lucius placed his hand on his forehead in disbelief. He glanced at Aurora. “For the sake of our safety, since he will be in charge of your training, I think it is best to let him know.”

Aurora nodded her head. “Yes, I agree.”

"Hmm?" Gaius asked, puzzled.

It felt as though he missed something important.

After checking that Aurora was alright, Lucius instructed the Knights to clean up the mess after letting them know that the explosion was just an accident.

At first, they wondered what kind of accident could cause such an explosion but thought it was best not to ask. Unfortunately, due to the Rizar Family's future duchess, this would not be the last time an explosion occurs in the Elran Mansion.

And because of it, they will go through innumerable sufferings.

The Training Room.

Because it was cold all year long, there is a training room inside the mansion for the direct family member's use. The Knights were not allowed to use it because every previous Duke of Rizar believed that the cold weather would make them stronger. Even the Duke himself rarely used it.

With wood accent walls and floor, it gave the room a traditional atmosphere. It was spacious and devoid of any furniture, besides woods, bricks, archery targets, and other target practices. There were various weapons placed on the wall. Swords. Spears. Axes. And bows.

Aurora changed into an appropriate attire used for training. She wore white pants and a black blouse and boots. Even though she didn’t wear a dress, this gave her an unrestrained charisma, to the point that one could not bear to look away. With her hair tied back in a ponytail, it revealed more of her face. Although pale, it was clear of any blemishes and gave her a charming appearance.

Gaius sat on the floor with his legs crossed and his head hanging down.

After Lucius spoke with him for around half an hour, he came out of the office with a complicated expression.

“…How long are you going to stay like that? I do not have time to waste.”

The blacksmith raised his head and stared at her. “….Sigh. To think that you’re a Witch.”

Aurora pursed her lips.

According to Lucius, Gaius was always fascinated with Witches, even back when they were in school. When he was a Rune Mage, besides studying runes, he spent most of his time studying the history of Witches. That’s why he was currently berating himself for treating a Witch with a cold shoulder. Even after he stopped working as a Rune Mage, he continued his research.

The reason Lucius wanted Gaius to teach her was due to his vast knowledge in runes and witches.

“I know!” Gaius jumped up and suddenly grabbed her shoulder. “Let me stud-“

“No, thank you.” Aurora rejected quickly.

“I'll be able to discover new information about witches!”

“No.”

“I only need you to tell me about your past, and let me take samples.”

Of what?!

"I decline!"

What a scary man!!!
