That Knight was annoyed by how this strange Lady from a poor Noble background just showed up at the training grounds used for Knights and announced her as his distant cousin and fiancée.
As a proud Knight from a Viscount family highly regarded for their military achievements, he looked down on this woman with a suspicious identity who clung to the Duke.
'It's obvious that she is using a wind rune or something to help her hit her targets or keep her balance. Otherwise, it can not explain how she went from being unable to draw a bow to using two arrows simultaneously in just a few weeks.' The Knight thought to himself.
“My Lady, why don't we have a small competition?”
Aurora glanced to the side and watched as a short brown-haired Knight approach her. Because of his height and child-like appearance, it caught her off guard. “Where are your parents? Is it one of the Knights or servants? Even so, it is dangerous here…”
The Knights all burst out laughing.
“Did you hear, she called him a child?!!”
“Well, that’s true. We thought he was one too at first!!!”
The short brown-haired Knight blushed a bright red from embarrassment.
Even Keegan couldn’t help but cover his mouth with his hand and let out a small chuckle. “My Lady, his name is Christopher Valen. He is one of the Knights that entered knighthood during the same time I did. Despite his appearance, he turned 21 this year.”
Aurora blinked her eyes as she observed Christopher.
Isn't he…too small?
He looked to be around 148-150 centimeters, which is considered the average height for 13 to 14 years old children.
“Despite my appearance?!” Christopher snapped with a menacing look. “Don’t interfere, you big oaf. I may have come in 2nd place in our class and finished training after you, but I am the best archer of our class!” He shrieked while pointing his finger at Keegan.
Keegan laughed and shrugged his shoulder.
Christopher took a deep breath and turned to face Aurora. With his hand over his chest, he slightly bowed towards Aurora. “What do you think, My Lady? Or are you afraid to lose against a mere Knight?”
While Christopher did not like this person, he would not dare to forget to show his manners. Still, his action against her was deemed rude and could be the cause of punishment.
Aurora thought this Knight resembled Vale, the doctor's grandson. They were both so quick to throw around the weight of their status and wanting to prove themselves.
Then, all she needed to do was give them a chance to.
“Ignore him, Lady Aurora!” Bea huffed. “He’s just trying to provoke you. Those from the Aristocrat Faction are all the same. They were only able to become Knights by using their family connections.”
“What? Say that again?!” One of the Knights from that very same Aristocrat Faction wanted to go up and slap that woman to put her in her place, but Christopher held his arm out to stop him.
“I can’t let that slide.” Christopher narrowed his eyes at Bea, making her hide behind Keegan. He turned his head to Aurora. “What do you think, Miss Isla?”

Aurora immediately caught on to the change in Christopher's attitude in the way he addressed her. The title 'My Lady' is proof of her identity as the future Lady of the Rizar Family. While calling her 'Miss' was meant to embarrass her by saying she was only a guest living in mansion.
“Sure.”
The Knights thought she would scold Christopher or even complain about his attitude. So, they were quite surprised and excited at the same time when she agreed to it.
“Great!” Christopher sneered inwardly. He will definitely make her lose all face. While there is not too large of an audience, it was enough. With her embarrassment in full view, this would keep her from running rampant!
“How about we make things more challenging and increase the target range to 50 meters? We usually place apples on our heads as targets but seeing as you are the Commander’s fiancé, I will go easy on you. After all, I wouldn’t want my head to go flying for offending the future Duchess.”
When he snickered, some of the other Knights also laughed along with him. But Aurora noticed at least seven Knights with either displeased or neutral expressions. From what Bea said, they must not be part of this 'Aristocrat Faction'.
“We’ll each take a turn to shoot three times for five rounds. The one with the most points wins. Easy, right?”
“What?! Easy my ass!” Bea called out in shock. “Aren’t you being too shameful?! You’re a full-fledged Knight, while she only started archery recently! F**k you…who the f….”
Before she could continue, Keegan covered her mouth while laughing awkwardly. “I apologize for her vulgar words, My Lady.”
“……” Aurora wondered why people in this time like cursing so much...
┐( ̄ヘ ̄)┌
Bea flailed around, trying to break Keegan's grip, but she eventually gave up.
Some of the other Knights from the group of seven also agreed with her. “She was only able to hit targets up to 30 meters away a few days ago. Cut her some slack, newbie.” One Knight said.
For reference, the standard distance for men and women was different due to muscle strength. Most female Knights who practice archery can normally shoot from 30 to 80 meters, while men can usually shoot up to 150 meters.
Of course, there are incidences where an archer has hit targets up to 200 meters. Usually, those who can easily shoot from 100 to 200 meters are considered master archers.
“No need,” Aurora replied calmly. “We will do as you first mentioned and use the apple as a target. I will go first.” Aurora walked towards the 80 meters mark without a second hesitation.
Christopher and everyone there all widened their eyes at this. “W-what…what a-are you…?” His words broke, and his vision faltered.
The reason he mentioned the apple competition was to shake her resolve. Christopher only wanted her to realize that she will never be better than other men, no matter how much she trained.
His father taught him that even though women were now allowed on the battlefield, they were no different from before. All women clung to men from influential families to live a life filled with riches and luxury. In the end, they were only good for warming the bed and have no business in fights between men.
“What’s wrong? Are you not confident in your skills?” Even though she stood around 50 feet away, her voice was clear and steady, that one could literally see her eyes burning with determination. It was as if she was goading him to kill her.
As if she had no fear.
