Chapter 80: Whitebeard

The group waited for two weeks before the silhouette of the moby dick to appear on the horizon. the flagship of whitebeards fleet was as awesome as alastair expected when it anchored next to his ship easily dwarfing it in size. alastair didn't stand on ceremony and immediately leaped up onto the deck of whitebeards ship with his hands in his pockets looking relaxed. there he was faced with a huge amount of tense looking men watching his every action cautiously. there was also a sort of pressure pushing down on him from the huge man sitting on a massive chair in the middle of the deck.

Alastair knew that this pressure was likely the conquerors haki that few people supposedly had and felt irritated by the restrictive feeling it had on him. this irritation grew larger and larger until something within him snapped and a wave of white and purple clashed with the pressure on him releasing him from its restraint. yes alastair unleashed conquerors haki of his own from the stimulation whitebeards gave him. "not bad brat" whitebeard spoke while restraining his own haki. alastair sighed "was that completely necessary?" he asked jokingly.

Whitebeard laughed at alastairs question "you had me come all the way here so you could test me , only fair i do the same." he said with a wide grin. alastair could only shrug "fairs fair i suppose." he said before walking over to where whitebeard was sitting a pulled a chair of his own out of his inventory. this surprised whitebeard and the crew but they quickly got over it and simply thought it was a devil fruit ability. alastair took a seat and placed a large wooden barrel keg on the deck next to him before waving his hand and whitebeards drinking dish floated over to him.

Whitebeards expression grew serious at this as alastair was showing more abilities than he should have normally. alastair filled the dish with the clear liquid in the keg before filling a glass he pulled out of thin air with the same stuff before floating the liquid over to whitebeard. flicking the air over his glass the liquid catches flame and alastair takes a sip of the blue burning liquid and nods to whitebeard with a grin. despite his confusion whitebeard grabs the dish and sucks down a mouthful of the liquid causing his eyes to light up.

"Good stuff!" whitebeard exclaims causing the crew around him to visibly relax. "what fruit did you eat brat?" whitebeard asked curiously. alastair shook his head "i didn't eat any devil fruit." he said seriously. whitebeard and his crew are stunned at this answer and one of the crewmates even yells out that alastair is lying. whitebeard calms himself and locks eyes with alastair but sees no deception and raises his had to quiet the crew. "i believe you but want to know why you are capable of these things otherwise." he said seriously.

Alastair grins and takes another drink from the still flaming liquid in his glass "that lack of greed is the reason i decided to tell you anything at all. every other yonko would likely act aggressive for my secrets but not you." he said seriously. whitebeards eyes widen in realization. "that was the test , my reaction to your powers" he said before laughing. "you got me brat , i didn't have a clue until you spelled it out." he said with a grin. "not much of a test if you realize it." alastair said honestly. "now what is so important that you need to test me like this to learn it?" whitebeard asked curiously while gulping down some more of his drink.

Alastair grew serious "do you know that there are other worlds beyond this one?" he asked with a level tone. whitebeards eyes widen as he puts the pieces together and a look of wonder appears on his face. "you came from one of these worlds." he said sternly. "my , my wives and my ship to a certain degree." alastair said calmly. "your ship?" whitebeard asked confused. "well to be more specific the stuff my ships made from is from a different world but the ship itself was made in this one."

Alastair and whitebeard then went on to talk about how alastair could semi freely travel between worlds. alastair explained how he had no interest in the one piece for this exact reason as to him it was laughably unimportant. whitebeard agreed with him that to someone capable of going to other worlds such as thing was pointless. alastair explained about how his magic worked and how easy for him it would be to do just about anything. whitebeard and alastair chatted about various topics like old friends until whitebeard coughed up a bit of blood. alastair then got jade to remove the disease and at this moment they learned from her that it was caused by a different devil fruit long ago. whitebeard sighed when he heard this and simply said it was likely his old captain rocks d. xebec who had the death death fruit before he died.
