This new thief was a tall imperial woman with obvious nord features such as her strong jawline and vibrant red hair. alastair guessed the woman was either a half breed or at the very least descended from a nord. this was not what drew alastairs attention however no that was the odd feeling as though the woman was related to him which she also seemed to feel judging from the confused look in her eyes. thinking about where he was only one possible explanation for this feeling which he voiced out. "dragonborn?" the woman visibly stiffened when she heard the questioning statement proving alastair correct.
"No wonder you feel like kin , so that's the reason." alastair said with an understanding look. "what are you?" the woman asked seriously. alastair didn't explain but told the woman named alina to find him after she settled her business in the thieves guild and he would show her. brynjolf and the rest of the thieves guild who were released left winterhold later that day in a special carriage that alastair enchanted to drive without a horse so long as magika was supplied to it. brynjolf had joked that it was a shame alastair wasn't going into business with those instead before he left.
Alastair knew that such a thing would be near impossible due to the knowledge and skill required to enchant the carriage. alastair had to solve the problem of enchantments only working on single pieces when carriages were made of multiple parts put together. he accomplished this by taking some knowledge from earth and creating a sort of wiring system from corundum that lets the enchantment cover all of the non moving parts of the carriage. after that alastair created a sort of axel for the carriage that fed the enchantment in an effective albeit inefficient manner to the wheels allowing the horseless carriage to come into being.
Sergius turrianus , the expert enchanter in the college of winterhold thought the carriage was a stroke of genius since it solved one of the biggest problems with enchanting and kept bugging alastair to share how he did it. alastair knew better however as such knowledge would raise this worlds technological level by centuries if used properly. the primitive means this current world had were already used to terrifying levels ,so if they were elevated greatly ... alastair shuddered at the thought.
Secretly alastair was thrilled that the only race who had reached such a level of technology, the dwemer , had basically erased themselves from existence. how did alastair know what had happened to the dwarves clearly you might ask. to put it simply alastair roughly figured out from the experiences of the living tribunal and dagoth ur using the tools of kagrenac to achieve demigod status as well as the known pathways to divinity. from what alastair deduced kagrenac tied the entire dwemer race to the attempt at godhood and was found wanting thereby causing the worlds backlash aka erasure.
There were of course exceptions to this in the form of the few member of the dwemer who were in another plane when kagrenac made his attempt leaving them outside his reach and saving them. however this meant that in an instant the dwemer race nearly reached extinction and after the roughly three hundred years of time maybe only a small population was still alive out there somewhere. alastair bid farewell to winterhold temporarily a couple of days after brynjolf left and after finding a secluded and hidden spot transformed into his dragon form. his wives minus erisa climbed onto his back and he flapped his wings sending dust flying before taking off.
Alastair had a very specific goal in mind when he flew this time , the throat of the world high hrothgar. to be more specific alastair wanted to meet the dragon who lived at the top of the mountain paarthurnax. despite the distance from winterhold the mountain was it only took alastair a few hours to reach near the area at which time he slowed his flight so as to not seem aggressive. alastair lowered his altitude when approaching the mountain making himself visible by the people nearby who almost panicked at the sight of him.
This didn't last long though when they saw his group on his back as to the people below it showed his peaceful nature. when the people saw erisa though they couldn't help but be confused since she looked nothing like the dragons they were familiar with unlike alastair whose only real difference was the extra front claws. many thought she was some form of daedric beast that no one knew about that was serving alastair due to her proximity. there was one being who noticed their approach who knew differently sitting on a word wall at the top of the mountain with a deep curiosity at the unknown kin approaching his home , paarthurnax.
