"There is that horrible troublemaker!" Mr. Iden laughed.
Viaan's arms had tied to a metal post. Tight enough cut the circulation off a normal human. Blood seeped down his back and the crevices of his wounds from the leather whip held firmly in Walker's hands.
Lifting him by the hair enough to pull it out of his scalp. He could barely open his eyes from the punishment inflicted on him.
"You only had fifty…you should feel lucky!" He paraded.
He could only groan out in pain. The brutality of the work environment even turning out of line reminded him of history books all of a sudden where slaves were given horrible conditions and the worst of food.
In his case was worse since it's so they don't have to feed him. Just a couple drops of blood as it wells under his eyes from lack of sleep and day training in the sun though it doesn't burn it can mark him if he isn't wearing protection-like sleeves.
"Mr. Iden! Are you in here?" A voice shouted.
Viaan's head is slammed against the table. He was disheartened and hurt from the incident learning Walker and Sahil had powers alone. Does that mean he had powers too?
"Viaan, there you are!" The familiar said.
He was too tired to answer Linetta. She took her knife freeing him from his shackles. Viaan pulled away from the pole in the tiny green tent he was stationed in away from the others dizzily he couldn't see straight.
His knees buckled under him collapsing in Linetta's arms. He refused to be carried out despite the fact he was physically unable.
"D-Don't come near me!" Viaan roared.
"Viaan…your injuries need to be treated. Declan was knocked unconscious." Linetta answered.
"De-clan…"
"Please come with me," Linetta asked.
A pang of guilt hit him. He had forgotten about Declan who also was meant to receive the same punishment as him. His back hurt hobbling over in the clean damp grass below unable to pull himself up.
His hand reached up high into the air as his vision blurred out. He was in pain. His whole body felt like it was on fire coming out of it.
"Viaan! Viaan! Please snap out of it!" Linetta yelled.
"Pathetic like everyone else here!" Iden mocked.
Several hours later Viaan would wake up staring ahead of him to find Linetta had stayed. The sound of water droplets makes their way back into the metal of the bucket under him.
"Viaan…" Linetta whispered.
He couldn't seem unable to speak. Viaan felt more tired than he has ever been. The feeling of the washcloth against his skin was slowly bringing him back to reality.
"Please speak to me…" She pleaded.
"Where is Declan?" Viaan questioned.
Sitting up automatically to gawk around with a quickness. Sobbing could be heard in the corner of the room. Viaan was confused about lurching from his bed to find a girl on the other side.
"Mr.Iden beat Declan to near death!" She cried out.
"What?!" Viaan shouted.
"Who are you?" Viaan asked.
Wiping the tears away with her sleeve. She looked Viaan right in the eyes before doing a simple curtsy and sitting back down.
"I am Nava…Rowan hasn't even been able to wake him either."
"This is my fault. Where are the other boys?" Viaan inquired.
"They have been moved to another tent to be watched," Linetta explained.
"What?"

"Do not hinder them from their work." Linetta scolded.
The door creaked open to find Rowan coming in a team of men dressed in white. The confusion on his face as they just strolled in to check the comatose Declan lying on his bed.
"What is going on?" Viaan questioned.
"Were merely checking him for assessment," Rowan stated.
Linetta takes the boy's hand leading to the other side of the cabin outside while he could ruffling inside.
"Mr. Iden was completely awful to Declan even before this." She pointed out.
"What do you mean?" Viaan asked.
"There are a lot of things here you aren't seeing. His responsibility is much more than others because of who he was before he became a false vampire."
"Why does Mr. Iden hate him so much?" Viaan inquired.
"Rowan did this to him as revenge…" She smiled.
"Does that mean he used to be someone rich or something?" Viaan said shocked.
"Sorta…but he is related to someone who used to own the house itself."
"Linetta, you can back in!" Rowan shouted.
Viaan ran back inside to find Declan still laying there on the bed still. Weird devices laid by his bedside. A device that flickered in and out smacking a board helping him breathe.
"What is that?"
"He must not be breathing properly…" Linetta responded.
Viaan never felt anguish like this before. He felt instantly sick at the thought of him doing one simple action that put Declan in a condition like this.
His face was battered and bruised purple and black. Yellow shined through his veins along with deep gashes under his eyes. Declan's hands and legs were in casts.
"I am so sorry, Declan…" Viaan noted.
Tick. Tick. Tick. Tok.
The wood made a distinct noise against the grain of the plastic. Linetta went over to examine the sleeping prince now in what she sees as a coffin for Declan in her mind.
"You will be held here for a full week." She noted.
"A week? Why?"
"Declan right now needs support more than ever…" She answered.
"I see…, but why am I not doing work like the rest?"
"You receive this time to repent. Tomorrow you will be making it up to your masters."
"Do what now?!"
She slapped him hard enough on the back to almost losing his breath gasping out. She was very strong almost too strong for a female.
"Do you think you would get off?" She laughed.
"I didn't expect it." He chimed.
"Declan is unable to attend and they know his current state. You have to do it alone."
