Xiang Ning was perplexed. Were these people retarded? The main instigators were obviously from the other schools! If they wanted to retaliate, why not harass them back? Why look for him? Didn’t students from those schools show up every day anyway? Xiang Ning didn’t understand why they must harass him.
Indignantly, he retorted, “Yep, I’m Xiang Ning. As for what happened, all I can say is that I’m sorry.”
The crowd heaved a sigh of relief. Xiang Ning was quite strong and had easily defeated two tier one, nine-star martial artists. If this escalated, the outcome would be the same. A simple apology was admittedly a workable solution too. Especially for Zhou Wanfeng, whose anger was eased because he was happy Xiang Ning saved him face upon his arrival.
However, what Xiang Ning said next stunned the crowd.
“I’m sorry that each and every one of you are useless pieces of trash. Is there not a single one of you with a backbone? Those students from the other schools come knocking on our door and not only did you not focus on retaliating, you’re here instigating internal conflict! All I can say is that you’re all pathetic.” Xiang Ning solemnly shook his head. The crowd couldn’t believe what they had just heard.

“Hehe, I never knew how delusional a new student could be.” Zhou Wanfeng shook his head, then snarled, “Are you challenging us right now?”
“Yeah, I am. If you’re here to help stand up for your little brother or sister or whatever then come at me,” he said with a shrug.
“Alright, alright! You’ll learn the word ‘respect’ today! How dare a part-time student act so bold!” roared Zhou Wanfeng.

Zhou Wanfeng’s young brother had gotten into a fight because another team stole their team’s prey. In the end, he hurt his arm in the fight and if it weren’t for the medics arriving in time, he would have ended up disabled. How could he remain calm in the face of the person who caused his brother harm? Especially when he was acting so arrogant?”
“Dragon’s Cry Armor!” muttered Zhou Wanfeng. He was just a tier one, nine-star spiritual cultivator, a far cry from Xiang Ning’s cultivation level at tier two, one-star.
He might only be a spiritual cultivator, but one must understand that because he was a spiritual cultivator, he could overcome that gap.
“The Dragon’s Cry Armor is a set of top-ranked tier one spiritual armor worth three million dollars!”
“Young Master Zhou will likely win this fight with his armor. He’s no ordinary spiritual cultivator either, this guy has undergone lots of combat training! Xiang Ning’s going to lose.”
“I heard you won first place in the wilderness activity. If you give away your right to choose a tier four martial skill and apologize to me on your knees, I’ll consider shortening your stay at the hospital by a few months!” Zhou Wanfeng was now covered in a suit of dark green armor that gleamed in the sunlight, radiating an aura of lethality.
Every suit of armor Xiang Ning had encountered had its own special characteristic. Fang Rou’s Crescent Mk. 1 Armor was agile, while Zhang Hongyu’s Roaring Tiger Armor was strong and powerful. He started focusing when he saw Zhou Wanfeng in his armor, not because he was facing a huge threat, but because this would be an opportunity to improve his cultivation.
He licked his lips, looking at his user interface and hoping Zhou Wanfeng wouldn’t hold back.
Capability: Tier Two, One-Star Martial Artist (1140/5000)
“Oh shut up, can you stop with the nonsense already?” Xiang Ning scoffed, then charged with his sword without waiting for Zhou Wanfeng to reply.
When Zhou Wanfeng realized Xiang Ning didn’t know what he was getting himself into, he wasted no time. With the wave of a hand, a sword appeared in his hand and he charged.
“Air Slash!” Zhou Wanfeng’s sword vibrated once, then a sharp blade of sword qi cut through the air toward Xiang Ning and the crowd faltered a few steps back. This was true combat involving qi waves, it could hurt the audience.

Many students turned to the watching teachers, frustrated. Why weren’t the teachers doing anything? As if in response to their thoughts, the teachers suddenly rushed forward. The crowd’s chests tightened, knowing this fight wouldn’t happen.
Unexpectedly, the teachers started to manage the crowd instead, herding the juniors to a safe distance. In an instant, many teachers had formed a wall of protection by standing between the students and the fight.
The students were stunned.
What was going on? Wasn’t it against school rules to fight like this?
One teacher loudly announced, “The school has announced that the field will be a temporary combat arena for now.”
The crowd burst into conversation. This meant that the school was hinting at them to resolve their own conflicts. If Xiang Ning could hold his ground, nothing would happen, but if he couldn’t.…
Xiang Xiaoyu grew increasingly anxious. The school was treating her brother as a lab rat!
The two people locked in combat paid the peanut gallery no mind.
“Mountain-Splitting Slash!” roared Xiang Ning. He didn’t unleash his full power, afraid he might kill the guy in one move.
Zhou Wanfeng’s glared viciously at the powerful slash, his sword glowing green.
“Vibrating Wave Slash!” Reinforcing his sword with his mental power, the sword seemed to dematerialize into a shadow while the air in his immediate vicinity vibrated.
The two weapons collided with a dull thud. There was no sound of metal clanging because neither were true weapons, just mocks made of safe material. When the weapons collided, in order to make himself look weaker, Xiang Ning let himself get blasted backward from the impact. Zhou Wanfeng took the chance to kick, which was fully absorbed by Xiang Ning.

The corner of his lips curled up. Finally, it was getting interesting! He charged forward again, then was kicked once more.
This happened a few more times, everyone felt like he was about to lose.
“This is too difficult! It’s too difficult to beat Zhou Wanfeng at tier one, nine-star.”
“Yeah. With his armor, he’s stronger than Xiang Ning in terms of both offense and defense.”
“Looks like Xiang Ning’s about to lose.”
Conversations simmered as Xiang Xiaoyu bit her lip, her eyes fixed on the battle. Ignoring Chen Zixin holding her back, she charged forward but was held back by a teacher. When she couldn’t make it past them, all she could do was scream, “Big brother! You’ve got this!” She wasn’t loud, but those around her heard it. They smiled, shaking their heads because it was all too obvious. Xiang Ning was about to lose!
Then, to the bewilderment of the crowd, Xiang Ning stood up and yelled back in his sister’s direction, “Oh!! Alright!!”
Then he knocked Zhou Wanfeng over with just one slash.
Zhou Wanfeng failed to get up.
