‘You will always emerge victorious if you understand yourself and the enemy.’ That was a quote that was being displayed by Xiang Ning right now. Now that he had learned quite a bit about the Qiuros, he would be much more confident if he faced one again.
He activated the Heaven’s Key Armor and Disguise together as he navigated the corridor down to the command center. The information stored within the command center was what he needed the most. Afterward, he needed to head to the engine room to try and learn as much as he could about its engine. The engine would be monstrous if it could lift off this entire ship. While humanity couldn’t make it yet, it would still be beneficial to record it, and possibly reverse engineer it in the future.
Xiang Ning walked slowly and confidently as if he had a walkthrough. It wasn’t as bad as the last time he’d had to sneak around. It was a place where he could lose his life at any time, but he was taking a leisurely stroll. Luckily, there was no sign of danger throughout the corridor. He even found a keycard! He could now access locked rooms as long as there was power.
After walking for three hours and across numerous branching paths, he finally found a set of double steel doors. Placed atop the doors was a giant plate with the words ‘Command Center’ engraved on it. There was no mistaking it—he had finally reached his destination. He carefully opened the doors and his Combat Instinct immediately blared out sirens in his body. The grin was immediately wiped off his face as he realized what it was. There was no way he could close the door and leave now.
He didn’t know why his Combat Instinct hadn’t activated before he had opened the doors, but when he did it rang like crazy as every single hair on his body stood up in alarm.
“Shit. I’m way too unlucky.”
He hadn’t encountered anything for the past three hours. He was initially unsettled about it, but when he spread out his Mental Power and used all of his senses he found that he was essentially all alone. Even his Combat Instinct hadn’t warned him about anything.
But now he was close to tears. Directly in front of him within the command center were eggs, dozens of them. Each of them was a meter in height, and in the very center of the room was a single crimson Quiros, its tail latched on to the pipes above as it coiled asleep.
Xiang Ning didn’t move an inch. He was hoping that Disguise would be able to fool it… but while it could mask his presence, it couldn’t make him invisible. The Qiuros wasn’t blind, either.
The one in front of him was much more ancient and savage looking. If the previous one had given him the feeling of a snake staring at a mouse, the current Qiuros gave him the deadly feeling of a human looking at a small chick. It was a sense of hopelessness and despair. And it wasn’t even the only Qiuros in the room. He took a quick scan of the room and counted at least eight more!
The crimson Qiuros cried, its voice sharp and shrill, and the remaining Qiuros immediately opened their eyes and trained them on Xiang Ning. He was caught.
Fifty Mk. 4 flying knives immediately shot out. Xiang Ning knew that the mark seven flying knives were useless against them and he could only use the mark four knives to block them for a short while!
He activated all eight gates. Against monsters like them, he knew that he couldn’t win. He had almost died fighting against a single one of them, but now there were more than ten! The moment he got caught, he would be torn to pieces.
He turned and ran as fast as he could as all fifty flying knives shot toward them.

The Qiuros merely batted the knives away. Their attacks were swift and fierce like a mantis. The knives lay broken on the ground. The Qiuros ignored the broken knives and chased Xiang Ning, saliva flowing from their mouths.
The remaining flying knives tried to block them, but their speed and durability weren’t enough. All of the knives shattered the moment they hit the Qiuros.
Xiang Ning felt an overwhelming pressure behind his back as the Qiuros behind him shrieked out a signal. Just as he rounded a corner and wanted to hop onto the pipes above the ceiling again, he saw another Qiuros appearing from the end of the corridor. Fuck!
He had no choice but to turn to the other corridor. But every single corridor he turned to had a Qiuros waiting in ambush. He wondered if it was just chance that he hadn’t encountered any beforehand. How could he have located and reached the command center so easily? But in the end, he was left with no other corridors. In front of him appeared yet another Qiuros! Looking at its paw, he realized that it was the same one that had almost killed him two nights before.
This time there were no other corridors to escape to. Sweat cascaded down his forehead and he made a bold decision. With his entire strength, he rushed toward the Qiuros.
The monster howled and charged at him as well. Just as they were about to clash with each other, Xiang Ning brought his body down and slid past it. At the same time, he pointed the Devourer upward, its blade a mere one-fifth of its original length.

The sharp blade sliced through the underside of the Qiuros, and even cut through its penis. Xiang Ning felt that he had cut something soft and the Qiuros slumped forward as it reeled in pain and shock.
Looking at the Devourer, which had just shed another part of its blade, Xiang Ning wasted no time and continued running.
The Devourer gave off a feeling of disgust as it shed the blade and Xiang Ning was just about to chastise it when he felt his feet step on nothing. The crimson Qiuros had just pounced behind him. But for some reason, a hole had appeared beneath Xiang Ning and swallowed him.
The rest of the Qiuros jumped into the hole after him.
Xiang Ning was shocked. He didn’t know how long he had fallen before he had arrived in an extremely large room. It was at least a thousand square meters large but it was empty. At least it was bright.
He didn’t have the time to slowly examine the room. He immediately stood up and started to find a place to hide. The Qiuros should be right behind him! But before he could even take two steps, a digital voice boomed, “Welcome visitor! I’m the captain of the Lottik, a battleship of the Hairo Empire, Norson Kai.”
Xiang Ning was spooked by the voice and scanned his surroundings, then a 3D hologram appeared directly in front of him.
