It has been five years since the talent show and I do not remember a thing. I remember the day of the talent show; but not the time I spent awake after I conked out after trying magic.

It was strange but who cares. I can use magic more proficiently now. After I learned how to train my magic ability I have been exercising that muscle all the time. I have also been training a lot. My sibling had now graduated the academy and only Clive was in the school now. He was eleven years old if you were wondering.

Clara had married a count’s son that neighbored our land. It seemed that he was supposed to inherit this land now after dad died. My other two sisters still lived with us and taught me all about the wonders of being in love.

Yes, they were betrothed to a young noble’s sons. they had been married off to twin brothers but the people they were betrothed to were only 12 years old. They both of course were 17 each. Their names were Minnie and Maxie respectively.

I was now five years old and sick of living here. My mom and dad wouldn’t let me go anywhere. So I was ready to go to the academy. Amelia came by every now and again. After all, this was a small town, and the manor didn’t take long to go to. She always wanted to talk about how to get Clive the county. He wanted to get Clara and her husband to divorce and convince father he was the best to inherit the county.

I had gotten all my clothes and such ready for life in the dorms of the academy. I was to bring someone with me as a guardian and servant. We did not have many servants, so I was to bring someone I trusted that was Amelia.

Amelia acted as a big sister that I needed. Clara wasn’t here to act as one because she was living with her new husband. And my other two sisters didn’t really inspire confidence.

So, she was the one I went with.

          Amelia POV

I didn’t know how to feel when it came to Laetitia. She was strange. She didn’t have much of a character. She just seemed to observe. It made for a great learning factor. That meant she learned fast and could teach people even faster. I learned about as much stuff from her as I had from Clive.

Sure she was as cute as a button, but she didn’t really make an impact on the world. That was until the crossing…
