Chapter 13: Second Dive: Wonderland?

[First Person Perspective. Alice. Jan 20, end of vacation.]

We were logging out... My brother had shown up a few hours ago, acting strange, but I didn't think about it... I was glad he was back. Logging out meant saying goodbye to Arven for a while... my other self. It's hard, having two Identities in one body... this Game is how I cope. 

Alice Valeria Vunderlund... The name I was born with. My father owns a massive Tech Conglomerate, One of the big Three, until The Incident 7 years ago took one company down. Now I'm here, at a rival company, playing their game with my friends. Except one. Kain logs in from a private location... unlike the others, I know where that is, because... well... While Kain And Arven are like brothers, Kain, A.K.A Kyle Lombard, Is The Arranged Fiancee of Alice... and he is the only person who understands that Alice and Arven Aren't the same person. 

As we logged out, A bright flash took our vision... and we found ourselves surrounded by armed men. They took my friends hostage... then gave my brother a Gun... and he... he shot me. I fell back into the pod, and felt the A.I. take notice... As I Sent a cry for help to the only person I could think of that might be able to help, I heard the men ask my brother something...

"The Girl?"

"She's Dead."

"Finally. Let's Go, Time to get these two brainwashed, Eh? More soldiers for the Revolution! Hahahahaha!"

My own brother... laughing with the soldiers about me being dead... something was wrong...

I lost Consciousness... and woke up in a hospital room, under heavy guard. My father was there, alongside a woman I recognized. His competitor.

"You Find out who did this, Holly! It was at your Facility, You find out who did this or so help me, I'll see you destroyed!"

"Relax Seth... my New Hire is in her way here as we speak...but you should know the girl is awake."

He turned to me...

"Alice! Finally! It's been two weeks... I'm sorry but... they had to perform Surgery to get the bullet... It's going to scar. What happened?"

"Papa... He shot me... Simon... the Guys who took my friends gave him a gun and he shot me!"

"WHAT? WHY?"

"Calm down, Seth. That's what my Detective will find out. Come with me, Young Alice will be fine, And you need to calm down. Let's go get some coffee."

I had to assure him I was okay, but then he followed Miss Holly out of the room... A few minutes later, A familiar Girl, Followed by A similar looking Girl, Entered the room.

"So that's Really what you look like?"

[Same room. Two hours later.]

"And that's all I remember... please, Elissa! You have to find them! And if you can, umm... if I gave you his access point, could you check on Kyle? I'm worried he got attacked as well."

Elissa Smiled, And grabbed Alice's Hand.

"Of Course. It's my job, After all. But to think you were the Heiress to the Wonderland Company... and you're name is Alice... So I guess White-Knight Arven Is the Madness then?"

A change occurred in her eyes... and a slightly different voice replied.

"Oh, I'm mad as a hatter, Miss Elissa. But poor Alice is Madder Still!"

"Oh. Hello Arven. Didn't realize you could do that."

"Oh yes... in fact, it used to scare people. Having Multiple Personalities is a Heavy Burden, more so when one is deeply attracted to the Body they share. Don't tell Alice I said that, i don't want her thinking I'm weird or anything. But you must admit, This body is SMOKIN HOT. Oh crap... I think she caught that. Umm... bye!"

The Eyes Shifted in color again.

"Oh that absolute SLEAZE! Arven's thoughts are always so dirty... yet in game he gives off  wholesome hero vibes... sorry about him."

"No problem. Honestly, I kinda understand him a bit. Trapped in a body that dosen't fit. It's what I suffered for Years. It's not visibly obvious, but I'm Technically Transgender."

"Wait, really? And why are you telling me this?"

"Well... you told me your secret, and this isn't exactly a secret. I am the first, Successful, full body Genetic Replacement Transgender. My body was Dismantled and Rebuilt as the Proper Gender. So for all intents and purposes, I am 100% Female. I could even have kids if I wanted. And my sister? Her body was destroyed 7 years ago. What you see is a clone, into which her digitized consciousness was implanted."

"So she's Basically a Zombie?"

"HA! I like It! Claire Stormbound: Zombie Girl! Hahaha! You have a funny Friend, Big Sister!"

"Yeah... I suppose I Do. Huh. Never had a friend before..."

"Oh that's just sad, Detective. SO. When are you getting to work?"

Holly was standing in the doorway. There was no sign of Alice's Father.

"Immediately Ma'am! See ya later, Alice/Arven!"

"Hey, Elissa! Wait for me!"

The sisters ran out of the room... And Almost trampled Seth in the hallway... they had work to do, but first...

"Alright. To the Lombard Residence."
